45212 - Carlisle's last steam train for 2022 - 10 11 22

A wild, windy day when the weather tried repeatedly to blow my tripod over - and the wind was determined to spoil my sound track. Add to the package the inevitable Pendolino which chose exactly the wrong moment to depart, completely blocking the arrival of the special train from Coventry and the Black Five which was to take it over.
As the Tyne Valley and S&C lines are still closed following the extensive damage done by the cement train derailment at Petteril Junction, reversing of the steam loco involved use of the Bog Junction connection to the Maryport & Carlisle line.
The special had of course been meant for the Settle and Carlisle but was re-routed to use the Cumbrian Coast line - which must have offered some spectacular seascapes on this stormy day.
So - no more filming visits to Carlisle this year - but other things are in the pipeline. My thanks to all who have followed me throughout the year - and here's to the future!
