Won't lie I expected the Chaos faction to be more Warriors of Chaos based but visually I can see why you guys went with Tzeentch. They make some fantastic animation potential which by the looks the design team have smashed! They look great and I look forward to fighting them! :D
I belive it would be to similar to the Stormcast, and maybe they needed a very shooty chaos faction
@Marcojaralaconich That's a great point. One I'm sure they probably thought through in development. And an excellent choice made for that diverse starting faction pool for sure! :)
Using a mono-god faction, especially one this magical, plays in to the High Fantasy genre of AoS. Lot of crazy units. I was hoping we'd get the Mindstealer Sphinx though. Heck, I was hoping that one would appear in Total Warhammer 3. They're really cool and beautiful. The spells will also probably really work well with the smaller scale tactics.
So far all factions have been original AoS ones (more or less, Night haunt are based on WHFB wraiths). Slaves of Darkness are a legacy faction, so they were less likely.
@@jiado6893 Oh for sure, it's definitely a benefit to the realms of AOS as a setting for making these types of things and the Mindstealer would have been awesome to see. Who knows, maybe one day in the future we might see one? :D
For those who are wondering how Tzeentch got picked, in the Realm of Beasts there is a city called Excelsis which is one of the few cities that exist in the wild plane. Tzeentch forces famously tried and failed to take control of the city, so it might be because their activities are well known over there. Read City of Secrets if you want to know more, it's part of the Callis and Toll series which is just starting out but has a chance to be the AoS Gotrek and Felix if it gets a few more good releases.
Wasn't there also a Slaanesh Cult Uprising In Excelsis or am I mixing up stories again with another Plane of Existence.
Good luck finding a physical copy.
you can find them in the new warriors of the freeguild omnibus !@@fumarc4501
AoS doesn't need Gotrek and Felix, it has something much better; Gotrek and Maleneth.
@@thecandlemaker1329 I disagree. I like the Gotrek stuff, it will always be near and dear to my heart, but AoS needs some original characters to distinguish itself from Fantasy and become its own thing. If Gotrek remains the best part of the setting, if no one replaces him as fan favorite or at least gets in the running, then the setting will always just be known as the one that everyone wishes was just Warhammer Fantasy.
FOR THE CHANGER OF WAYS
Yes yes yes!
You guys basically included everything I was hoping for with this faction right done to horrors actually splitting!
And that group army painter looks so handy!
Phenomenal work all round! 🏆
I didn't see any brimstone horrors.
It’s blink and you’ll miss it but right when the Pink Horror dies you can see the little daemons run off from the Blue one. They’re very small white ones.
I'm surprised to see the Disciples of Tzeentch since usually Khorne and Nurgle take the spotlight but I do hope all the factions make it in later as DLC. At least its got more factions than Stormgrounds did.
The Horrors can split yessss, it's their most iconic ability yet I don't think there's a single warhammer videogame where this is portrayed.
If this game ends up failing I'll be very sad because the amount of love and attention you guys have put into it is just insane.
In Mordheim I know they split, Mordheim was a janky game but they got the Warhammer so right.
In W40k Tacticus the pink horrors split.
They also split in Boltgun if you don’t completely mulch the Pink Horror’s corpse fast enough. Also Total War they also split.
@@dasprints They do not split in total war
The Mortal Realms are so strange! That makes them uniquely well-suited for strange fantasy stories. Basically, I think the Mortal Realms allow to do the mind-blowing things I love seeing in certain science fiction stories (time hijinks, for example, or the kind of mysterious/eldritch beings that defy understanding) - but in a fantasy story. The Mortal Realms are just fantastic for that. Tons of internal meaning, rich worldbuilding, and action!
Nurgle and Khorne felt like the "main" chaos baddies of Warhammer Fantasy, but Tzeentch is definitely stealing the spotlight in Age of Sigmar. And I'm all for it. City of Secrets was an awesome book.
Plus Slaanesh’s forces have way more agency in AoS as it’s forces continue to look for a way to free Slaanesh(or even some daring enough to take it’s place) from the aelven void prison.
Be that hunting every lead & a dying artifact, besiegeing ancient cities, battling the Seraphon themselves for astral clues to the newly born demigod slaanesh twins trying to destroy the aelven nations and undermine the Khainites to weaken the aelven gods themselves.
Thank Sigmar it isn’t Nurgle yet again.
The Tzaangor we deserved after the TERRIBLE model given to us by Creative Assembly through Shadow of Change.
These Tzaangor would be lorebreaking in Total War. Old world Tzaangor and the Tzaangor of the mortal realms are different things.
@@editor2766 Please don't make things up, there's nothing to suggest that AoS and FB tzaangors are different, especially since AoS and 40k tzaangors are one and the same. CA has just done a piss poor job, and it has been doing that for a while now.
@@thecandlemaker1329 they are different. Wfb tzaangor are just gors marked by tzeentch, with no uniformity beyond that, and not necessarily in their own tribes etc. AoS tzaangor live in tzeentch dominated areas, work closely with humans, are intelligent and in some cases virtually scholarly, wear finery which would be anathema to wfb beasts, are uniformly avian, and frequently are humans who have gone through a transmogrification willingly. I've played beasts since 2001, this is not made up it's simply the lore
@@editor2766 You can fool some schmuck who's never touched the miniatures, but not me. I have the 6th edition book right here with me. Tzaangors are mentioned in passing in one line and that is all.
I prefer the look of CA's Tzaangors. Not a fan of the beaks.
Was hoping for Slaves to Darknes, but Tzeentch looks like a fun micro-oriented faction!
Honestly I was expecting pox loving Nurglites but that is not an unpleasant surprise.
This is better imo, khornates and nurglites gets a lot of spotlight, time for the magick bois and slaneeshi sickfucks.
@@KingInBlack69 Tzeenchian schemes, I agree.
The god of demonetization however...no thank you.
Oh this looks awesome. The Tzaangors look way cooler than the ones Total War just did.
I was almost expecting Beasts of Chaos to be the chaos faction given the setting but tzeentch is good we like tzeentch
Yes! My favourite fraction! Thanks!
Change for the Change God!
Schemes for the Scheme... Throne?
Crystal Throne.
I was gonna buy this already, but the in game map editor just sealed it for me. I'm having flash backs to Warcraft 3 (the good one) and it's making me giddy :3
Well, despite being the worst kept secret of the game, its nice to see it finally properly announced!
JUST. AS. PLANNED.
I was holding off on buying this until I knew what all the factions were, but I've now placed my pre-order. So happy to see Tzeentch here. Kairic Acolytes are some of my favourite AoS models, so I'm gonna love getting to see them in action.
1. Increase units' movement speed by 15-20%.
2..Adjust maps to have more opportunities for flanking and ambushing (including providing strategic points for capture in such locations).
3. Let units to get veterancy, be leveled up during both campaign and multiplayer.
Holy shit this game is looking amazing, the army editor and map editor are incredible editions! Army painter was an amazing part of Dawn of War and love seeing it here. Seeing the Anvils of Heldenhammer, my favorite AoS faction was awesome for me. I am definitely sold on this game.
Well, expected the Slaves to Darkness rather than any monogod faction, but here we are!
And sweet Sigmar, an in-game map editor, army painter AND diorama mode?! You guys know how to keep non-MP fans despite the very competitive-oriented design.
What an amazing trailer drop! I am just so excited for this, its such an expression of love for the setting, thank you guys so much
I love that the game went for a specific chaos faction instead of the generic base ones. Helps future factions feel more distinct
Though would be weird to create a generic one. The Disciples of Tzeentch is a faction of Age of Sigmar table top
It’s good to see the different playstyles between the factions! Can’t wait for the game to come out :)
It's been some time since I've been hyped for a RTS game! This looks fine!
I'm probably going to be buying ultimate edition of this game and I hope in the future we get dlc factions as well but it looks stellar
I just recently got into AoS, I will be honest. This looks great, I hope my PC is up for the task.
100% dude for sure dude no way this game is super taxing probably about the same as halo wars 2
@@davidkrapensits4367 hopefully but my PC is also especially Bad so we will See
I was already looking forward to this game despite not finding the 3 factions shown so far all that interesting. This faction however, wow. The animations are amazing!
THERE'S A MAP EDITOR?! YESSS
I hope the Seraphons will be eventually added
Sooooo cool, love your work guys !!!!
hope for more DLC Factions.
This is one impressive trailer. The game is shaping up very nicely
This is really amazing! I want to finally play it! :D
Looks friggin amazing. I wasn’t too much into Tzeentch, but after this game, I know I will be
Goddamn, a map editor and photo mode are which keep me around. I loved making gamemodes in map editors since the olden days of warcraft 3!
Well, well, well, I should have known. Mysterious artifacts and arcane powers. Divinations that led to said artifact. It's all coming together.
Edit: Tying the army painter and terrain editors to Tzeentchian magics is a fantastic thematic touch!
I like this game
I knew it was going to be Chaos, but I'm appreciating that it's not whatever passes for Black Legion in AoS again ^^
Same
Honestly I was expecting maggot kin of Nurgle as the chaos faction for the region in this game, but presently surprised with tzeench :D
Wasnt really big on this game but having a map editor is a huge plus. Really miss the golden age of custom map making.
THAT IS WHAASUP. I play DoT and Lumineth. Fucking YES
Never been more hyped for a Warhammer game, AoS Tzeentch is my favorite Warhammer faction of all time because of it's inclusion of the non-human, but still mostly mortal, followers of The Great Deceiver. Tzaangors and Ogroids are absolutely badass.
This is my favorite chaos faction and the last one i would have expected you to pick outside of the Slaves to Darkness.
You’re about to catch me racking up 300 hours in the map editor alone…
I'm excited to see what dlc there will be hopping for overlords or chaos dwarfs
Came to see Tzeentch but stayed for the Army Painter and showcase features, guess map makers are happy too.
Now I'm excited! Tzaangang!
In custom battle could you put a slowed bottom or pause bottom? Just to optimize micromanagement of the units
Holy shit this is outa left field I love it
I was hoping we'd get the Mindstealer Sphinx. Heck, I was hoping that one would appear in Total Warhammer 3. They're really cool and beautiful.
Man if you did little 5-10 dollar dlcs for each faction and have people play the factions they love that would be amazing, this game looks very good
Gosh Darn it! I was hoping for Blades of Khorne!
So cool !!
I cannot wait!!!
Glad to see warhammer games are giving the big blue guy attention
Can’t wait to see what people do with the map editor
nothing brings more fear to the enemy than Spongebob accabella singing
This is so cool!
can't believe RTS editors are back
Sooooo Coooool!
I am so hyped for this damn game.
Man, was hoping for this level of detail with the new TWW3. I hope I'm wrong but gameplay is probably going to be bad and I will be buying this game solely since its warhammer haha.
if you liked Dawn of War 2 you should enjoy this!
Fuck yeah, love seeing Tzaangors.
Heeeeell yeah!!! Refreshing to see no Nurgle cult :D ) Nothing against Nurgle:p)
Was expecting a faction of the eldari in contrast to the undeadlike faction of the night (in German translated as Nachtspuk).
To see the Chaos with Tzeentch as actor behind fog of magic..nice!
looks goood !!!
Make sense can’t wait
alright well done, didnt see this comming, was certain it was gonna be slaves to darkness. Happy to be surpised
I hope the Fyreslayers get added eventually.
I knew it was going to be a Chaos Faction: but i would have never guessed it was going to be Tzeentch
Yess! Make way for the best chaos god!
Tzeentch my favorite faction ❤❤❤
Tzaangor surfers let's go
I hope you keep the narrator for your future videos. They are very good at describing your game!!!
Finally. Idk why you kept Tzeenthc "hidden' for so long when one of the 1st images of the game
It was all part of Tzeentch's plan
People wanted Tzeentch, now they got it. So give the creators a big fat thank you everybody!
Ooooo wtf! Congrats for the person who guessed it right
Man im just happy we got a chaos faction other then nurgle lmao!
Slaanesh: Welp... guess we will wait another time for ourselves to be made a chaos focused faction.
i luv all 4 factions.
I see Tzeentch, I will buy
Praise Tzeentch!
I'm more of a slaanesh fan but I don't mind tbh, I mean I would be pissed if it would be khorne but allowing other chaos faction to shine is ok and in an rts format, they can fill any playstyle due to their diverse mechanic between the 4 ruinous powers.
I do hope that they give us each a faction or story preview for all 4 and we only know the story for stormcast so far.
Oh boy…Guess I should whip out my Paradox-Billiards-Vostroyan-Roulette-Fourth-Dimensional-Hypercube-Chess-Strip Poker deck…
Finally! praise the Dark Gods
I was really hoping for slaves to darkness. They look good and well done gameplay though
Now that i see them in 3d i realise how alien the Tzeentch daemons look
YEAH!
Will there be a lords of lumineth dlc ?
FFA Multiplayer would really be a great mode, allowing for a more opportunistic and chaotic experience with twists in the combat experience that also dont rely to heavily on good balancing like the "usual" competetive one side vs another, also making it easier for players of varying skill levels to play together without having a onesided battle, which often leads to grief and bad associative memory with the game, stopping players to invest time into the game and just dropping it, which I really hope wont happen to much with this game as it has a chance to be the first not niche AoS game that I know of, but might end up as such as I can see some parallels to the similar story of Iron harvest.
I want Idoneth Deep Kin. Seas' ade awesome
Just like in TWWH3 - Tzeench foloowers are the greatest chaos faction. Formely were Khorne and Nurgle ones.
I like that you guys picked a specific god faction then warriors of charios/undivided as pretty much all warhammer games have done before, not gonna like I went from meh, since the orcs in this are ones I have least interest, and -space marines- sorry Stormcast, this (Disciples of Tzeentch) and nighthaunt, you have my curiousity.
I'm guessing single player campaign is only tied to stormcast?
All factions will be playable I; campaign to my understanding
I think Slaanesh would approve of the Cultist of Tzeentch outfit.
Tzeentch lets goooooooo
I need Khorne, BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
I was really hoping for blades of Khorne, hoping the game stays alive long enough so all factions get included...
God I hope this game is popular ;-;
Ok, this is looking mighty fine at the moment. Just needs the gameplay to not suck and get more factions released.
Big chicken
Dang really wanna get excited about this game but I just don’t care about any if the teams in it so far. Hopefully they add Lumineth or Ogres
i would love to get this game, but please look into the controls on PC. drag selecting multiple units and then clicking an individual unit or tabbing through them should allow you to move that unit specifically instead of the whole group. if i double click a specific unit type, it should also highlight all units of that type. just these two changes alone would make the game feel so much less clunky. it shouldn't be hard to incorporate these changes either since literally every other rts game in existence does this.
