This press has worked like a charm for my projects czcams.com/users/postUgkxajoEbapTfqWaadnqb04h6U576yxXp-FE . I didn't even secure it to my table top, mainly due to the fact that I was using a 15 lbs drill vise. It's not flimsy at all as to what others have claimed it to be. Make sure the locking nuts and levers are secured and there won't be any issues with light pressure and patience. I was able to drill through aluminum, plastic, and steel (steel took a while) with no problems at all. Yeah it took a little longer than a regular drill press, but I don't have the space OR the money for one.The instruction manual was worthless, but luckily assembling the press was intuitive. However, the manual would be good for ordering replacement parts if needed. There is a nice breakdown of the parts that are included in the kit. Before ordering, make sure it is compatible with your unit, it is clearly stated what models the press is compatible with. This was an excellent purchase for $40!!
I'm here after building a quick table for mine. It's working, but I quickly realized just how nice a permant and functional table could be. I'm loving this one. Also- I had the same problem with the handle hitting the fence. My fix turnedvout much less elegant😂. I was mad and hurried. When I get my current project done, I think is what I will replicate. It looks great.
Thank you! I originally saw it a while back on Jay Bates channel and thought it was the perfect solution when you have a large drill press and a little grinder. Thank you for watching!
Sweet set-up! A little tip, in case anybody else builds this, is to offset the rebate for the sacrificial board to one corner. That way you can rotate the board through 4 different positions before flipping it over. You could also make the sacrificial board offset and circular if you have a CNC and OCD, LOL.
What a cool demonstration of your carpentry skills! I just got my first ever drill press delivered and I plan to build a drill press for it. Your video gave me tremendous inspiration. Thank you.
Something nobody seems to utilize, the slot holes in the drill-press foot. They are there so you can mount and move the press front to back (big wing nuts used). If you extend the floor of the stand out the back further creating a shelf, you can strap in long stock for end drilling by swivelling the drill-head around, loosening the bolts in the slots and sliding the press back, retighten. Various clamping/height devices can be fashioned to hold stock. Press stand only puts the press stand out a few more inches off the wall. Also use the long cubby created to store long-ish press accessories, fence and stuff.
Wow! Thank you so much for all of that information! I knew about mounting with the slots in the foot but I didn’t think about the swiveling aspect! Great point! I appreciate it and the support!
Nicely done. This is something on my to do list for the next weeks. I already made some jigs for my drillpress but i still don't have a cabinet. I have to put my drillpress on the ground when i'm not using it and that is not profitable. Thanks for sharing your idea!
@@CReevesMakes Thank you so much. If you want to see the jigs, i made videos which you can see on my channel. Feel frre t watch and maybe i will inspire you like you did to me. Greetings
The cabinet is a fantastic idea. I currently have my drill press on one of my benches but I have yet to bolt it down. Also I want to build something under it that can store bits and stuff of that nature. That Kreg table is bad ass.
Casey. I got a Tell ya man this is another home run! So functional and always digging that black melamine look especially with that polished royal blue anodized aluminum from Kreg. Great job brother
Nice build. It really looks great. Maybe one day I too can make one of these. That will be as soon as I can afford to buy all those a Kreg tools guides etc. I think I’m only about $5000 away. I think I’ll just have to settle for building your old table. 😚
Ah, you don’t need all these tools. You can get by with some very basic tools. I build a lot of furniture and cabinets for our home and these tools and jigs make it easy. But it can be done on a low cost scale for sure. Good luck! 👍🏻
Adding the grinder also helps to lower the center of gravity so there is less chance of the whole thing tipping over. Have you had any tipping issues with this setup???? Just wondering.
Thank you very much Doug! I am just building what I need and want in my shop. I am in here all the time, so it has to "feel" right to my needs and fit my style of how I work. Its not for everyone, but I hope a few of you get some ideas from it. Thanks!
Yeah these tracks were leftovers from my large table and cross cut sled builds so it wasn’t too expensive. You could build it without tracks for less than $200 easy. A sheet of plywood and a small chunk of melamine and you’re less than $100.
Nice, nice build. I’m certainly going to add it to my build list. Hey, I sure liked the table saw sled you were using as well. Do you have plans for this also?
Thank you very much for the comment! I do NOT have plans for that sled, but check out Nick Ferry here on CZcams as it is his design and he has plans for it.
Looks great! Did you have any trouble with the melamine chipping with the flush trim bit? I'm about to use the same technique to put a melamine top on my workbench.
I truly enjoy your videos but practically all of them the voice over seems a bit low in volume. For YT videos I usually max the volume to enjoy it better (kinda like listening to music) and sometimes when I am doing things around the house so I can still hear even if I dont see the picture. I wonder if you ever get a chance to raise your voice over volume a bit.
Thanks for the feedback John! I have been working on improving this. Check out my latest videos and let me know if it’s any better. Thanks for watching
Set the "+" "-" adjustment to your workpiece and they will be fine. They dont always work right out of the package and thats why they have the fine tuning adjustment in the handle. Good luck!
That cabinet looks awfully narrow and not very deep. The drill press is very top heavy and you would only need a castor to snag against something for the whole lot to fall over.
Easier to do this: Get a mobile pedestal file cabinet from a used office furniture store. Comes in 24" & 29" depth. Full suspension ball bearing glides. 2 or 3 drawers. Casters with 2 locking. MDF on top, bolt through.........done. Drink beer.

I really love the idea of mounting a small bench grinder to the drill press base. Great space saver, I think I'll try that.

Love what you did with your bench grinder.
Thanks! Space saver!

Thank you Chris! Its starting to look legit in my shop! Feeling the flow! 👍🏻💙Thank you for tuning in!
Great video my friend! I totally agree that a good router table can spoil you :) I can't believe how much of a time saver it is!
Thanks Mike! It’s great being able to just walk up to a machine and go! Every shop needs a router table! 👍🏻👍🏻

Great looking drill press table Casey! Thank you for sharing the video. 👌👍😎JP
Hey thanks JP! I appreciate that!
Your very welcome Casey! Have a great weekend!😎
Thanks! 👍🏻
Great looking cabinet, Casey! All of it is so well thought out.
Thank you very very much Bruce! I appreciate it! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great build and use of material you have on hand. Love the music.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Just enough to keep the background going.
Brilliant build, well done.

picked up a little trick. You used a piece of off cut that is straight to align the edging with the table top to keep it flush. thank you for the tip.
Glad you liked it and got something from it. I should have mentioned that in the voiceover. I do it often when aligning two parts.
Nice build Casey!
Thank you very much! I appreciate it!
Nice build 👌
Nice setup!
Thanks!
Nice work mate. 👌
Thank you Beau! The shop is coming together!
Another great build! Keep up the awesome content.
Thanks Matthew! I’m trying!
Adding the grinder also helps to lower the center of gravity so there is less chance of the whole thing tipping over. Have you had any tipping issues with this setup???? Just wondering.
No tipping issues at all. I am just very careful when taking it outside on cleaning days, but other than that, none in the shop. Thanks!
Nicest Drill Press Table I've seen.

Great detailed design expensive finished product awesome piggybacking grinder mount
All those Kreg tools😍
I would love to see you design and make a “flip cart” for a table top drill press / planer. You build quality!
I have thought about a new design for a flip style cart. Time will tell and thanks for watching! I truly appreciate it John! Take care.
CReeves Makes i look forward to purchasing the plans
Thank you very much!!👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, Thanks :)
Thanks!
Cool, I just made one too and have a video of it on my channel. I have some open storage aswell but put in sliding shelves.

A disclosure should be made: Caution, this looks easy and will make you want to buy tools. Like alot of them, by Ridgid.

Thanks! No, just make sure the bit is clean and you’re fine! 👍🏻
Hey Casey, can you please let me know what model Jet drill press you have?
Quality
👍🏻👍🏻
if i knew this tracksaw before, i would buy it instead of festool one. It cuts to the left side, instead of right side.

Those goofy Kraig clamps don't always work, ABOUT 99% of the time they don't work!
Noted. I move the unit by actually putting my haves on the press itself. I have not had any tip issues at this point but thank you for the concern.
