Doesn’t matter to me what’s in style. At this age I’m gonna wear what I like and if anyone doesn’t like it look away 😂😂❤
Exactly!! Wear what you like and makes you feel good.
Agree.
Ditto, when people pay my bills, tell me what to wear😂😂😂
My sentiments exactly 😊
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️
I don’t care what the trends are, I wear what I like and flatters my body.
Exactly, it just doesn't matter what's in style or "trendy"! Wear what you want, and what you're comfortable in. If you feel good, you will look good. Period.
Nothing looks better than a bootcut jean on any size woman and skinny jeans won’t go away for me either. 👍🏻😀
I have never seen bootcut jeans look attractive!
I agree about bootcut, not so sure about skinny. I do like slim, but not skintight.
With boots 👢.
Ive rarely saw skinny jeans look good. Most of us should avoid them.
@@trishb9353 So true. I think slim is fine, but skinny equals too tight.
Shift dresses and white go-go boots! Brings back memories!
Wide legs better stay in because I love the way they look on me and brings me back to the 70's, plus I probably have about 10 pairs. All different kinds. lol
Lol, I just bought a couple of great pairs myself so they have to stay in now for awhile 🤣👍🏻
Wide leg pants look great in mho
Just stock up on them in case they go out and you can’t find them. Wear what you love
Which brand do you like best?
I'm too short and chunky to wear the wide leg pants. I tried some on and ....it was very depressing. Lol 😔 I think they look fabulous on a lot of ladies though! ❤
Im waiting for the Aunt jean😜
😂😂😂
I just quit wearing capris..my daughters told me they are old lady pants!!
Smart daughters 😘
I don't care. I like capris. (And I AM old) 😊
@@ceebeedub177 Some old women actually think they're fooling people about their age group. LOL Nothing sadder than a boomer trying to "dress young."
My sister was, as she explained, 5’12” tall--😂 -- and I’m 5’9”. We both looked great with our long legs in capris! We made sure they fit well and weren’t baggy in the tush. My sister has passed away, I’m 66. I care most about my own opinion when I’m choosing clothing!
@@user-tk1ht6wn3j Just wait till you get there.
Metallic no, and only a stick looks good in pleated pants. 😊
I am 5 ft tall. The wide leg jeans look a little overwhelming on me😂 looks great on taller ladies
If you are 5’ tall the wide leg pants make you look like you are flying! Slim leg pants foe me!
What looks good on us 😊depends on our height.😊😊😊😊
@@lindajohnson. agreed 👍
Sucks doesn't it! I'm 5' 2".
@@janetduncan87 Lol 😂 yes
@@janetduncan87 Best luck in pants is when QVC came out with different lengths in jeans, cargo pants, capri , ankle pants, etc…..They are stylish and pricy, but I’ll pay the price for pants that fit. For so many years pants were made for taller women.
Angela, I think one reason some of us like capris is because we don’t feel comfortable in shorts and they are a little cooler than long pants in the summer. We really are just concerned with comfortable when it is 95 degrees and 90% humidity.
Capris are the perfect solution for old ladies in Florida where you go from 90 degrees outside to overly air-conditioned business all the time. Plus nobody wants to see grandma's knees.
I will just wear a dress when I'm too old for shorts. Capri pants cut your body up to make it look shorter. Ankle grazing if fine.
Love Capris! Saves me soooo much time not having to hem pants. (5' tall)
Exactly! They look more ladylike and modest than shorts for summer weather.
@@kellycook4347 Ankle grazing is ankle pants or crop pants. I like capris to be more the length of pedal pushers, just a little below the knee.
SAME about the high rise jean. It took me FOREVER and just this last fall I got on board. They can't go away!
Angela, I think you’re referring to Capri pants but what those pictures were are pedal pushers which are way shorter.. capris come just above the ankle. Pedal pushers because they were originally designed for bicycle riding and they are a good alternative to Shorts if you’re going to be riding a bike. I guess it’s a good option. If you want to keep your knees and thighs covered and don’t want to wear shorts … like I would wear a pair of those pedal pushers on the beach.. but I hope everyone realizes that magazine articles about what’s in and what’s out or design to sell more clothes and truly stylish people don’t really pay attention
Just getting ready to turn 70 and I just cannot bring myself to wear capris!!! Ankle length or rolled up slightly above that - great! But no capris. Capris were "in" several years ago and I fell for it. Gradually I not only tired of them, but threw ALL of them out. I may technically be an old lady, but not ready to dress the part just yet! Thanks for sharing some fun styles with us!
Nobody wants to see a 70 year old woman in shorts. No matter how hot you still think you are, your knees are shot.
I agree! I will turn 70 in August and just cannot wear capris!.
@@lawgally1 Then don't. Not everybody looks like Laura Petrie wearing them.
I agree I don’t like capris either, but I work with a woman who wears them every single day of the year… Rain or shine. only time I ever saw her wear a long pair of pants (in 7 years) when she went for a job interview in another department.
I am 71 (and 5’). I could be wrong, but my memory is capris is from the late fifties and they were called pedal pushers. I was young. They didn’t loo good on me then either. 😂
Angela cargo pants are staying in my closet right along with high waisted jeans.
Heck ya!! 😊👍🏻
Capri pants??!! Yay! Well, you know they’re super popular in Florida. They make so much sense in The heat and humidity.
Shift dresses are adorable. I’ll sew my own so I can customize the length etc. Super easy style to sew!
I do the same! Love a good basic shift dress in linen.
@@denisedorsey2889 oh yes. I live in a hot humid climate in the summers. Linen would be great! I want to find a couple of 60s cotton prints too. And maybe a Jackie O inspired solid with white piping!
Yes to the shift dress.
I wore shift dresses as a kid. They can be very cute.
No capri’s!
A lot of fashion styles are basically for young women, they can wear anything and look good.
Right, and how many trust fund, 6' tall, 18 year olds are there really?
Amen
I feel like cargo pants will never go out for me! Yes, truly slimming! Magic pants! LOL
It’s a darn good thing that we are all mature women informed by wise women like Angela. We know what flatters us and what we feel comfortable wearing. We can make good personal choices!
Dad jeans remind me of classic 501 shrink to fit button up straight leg Levi's. Nice Plus they look cool with the long cuff!
When I first learned to sew at a summer school program around 6th grade, our very first project was a shift dress!
I like the cargo capris with the drawstring bottom lower cut waste comfy cool and cute 😊
The dad jeans look really nice on you
Stay with classics! And we’ll all be good!
Amen!
The dad jeans look soooo good on you! ❤
Thank you Laura! 😊
I say there's a time and a place for everything, I don't get rid of stuff just because of trends and I don't buy for a trend I buy and wear what I like and I get rid of it because I can no longer fit in it or sick of wearing it.
Thanks for the video
“That Girl” marlo Thomas love that shift dress with the tall high wide heeled boot ❤
Shift dress is such a classic look love it. NO on the capris.
Love you being honest and showing affordable fashion items. I’m retired so I really only need casual ( like the cargo pants) clothing and shoes. I have a couple dresses for when I need them. Thanks as always
I am 70, also retired. You can still be elegant. I live on a bike and am currently passionate about (Japanese) Onitsuka Tiger trainers
Thanks for another fun informative video. I think capris are very unbecoming on all body shapes. I used to wear them in the warmer weather, then read some articles against them and took a good look in the mirror. I have since donated all my capris. Thank you for modeling these styles for us, it does help to see what they look like on a real person. Thanks for all the effort you put in to your channel, you are always a pleasure to watch.
I love picking a trend that suits my body and makes me feel current. Plus, it makes me feel young at heart and who doesn’t want to convey that for themselves. Good luck and shop mindfully!!
I’m with you on the pleated pants Angela. They’re not for me. I’m ready to try the Dad jeans after seeing them on you (they look great!) but if shoulder pads come back, I think I’m just going to pass out.
shoulder pads and stirrup pants 🤣😱
Love the sixties dresses!
It amazes me how many Debbie Downers just comment that they "will wear what they want and don't care what others think", or that "at their (old) age, they don't bother with style or trends"...come on people! Looking good and putting your best foot forward in public is NOT a crime!
This creator spends a lot of time, research and hard work on these videos and we should be thanking her, not whining about self-proclaimed lack of style.
There I said it. And don't come for me, I'm 66 and I leave the house proudly, looking my best, with makeup on too...bonus, I still color my hair! Thank you Angela for sharing your fashion tips and valuable info with us!❤😊
Yes! You talked about the wide cuffs last year! I like the shift dresses! I’ve seen photos of my mom wearing them in the 1960’s! Not sure about capris. No to metallic pants. Loved this episode! - Belinda
Thank you Belinda! 😊
I love cargo jeans and pants and wide-leg and bell bottom jeans. Dad jeans and straights are so unflattering on me. Just glad we all have so many options!
Capris for me are a been there, done that. I noticed they weren’t selling last season at Walmart so I doubt anyone will change their minds about them. The dad jeans looked nice on you
I absolutely DESPISE capri pants! They oddly show off the WORST part of a woman's legs . . . unless you're Sharon Stone. Totally with you. :-)
I would wear capris because they cover up the worst part of my legs- sadly most women have some cellulite
No capris or cargos for me. Going to stick with what compliments my body type and comfort
I was just thinking the other day, while looking in the mirror, that I’d like it if small shoulder pads would come back into style. My little shoulders are such that purses always slip off and if my hair is out and curly then my head looks too big for my body! Lol! Small shoulder pads would be good for me. Not the 1980s gigantic ones, but those were fun in the 80s.
One thing I like is that we have such a wide range of styles now. From wide leg to baggy to skinny jeans, short dresses, long dresses, clunky, shoes, flats, whatever is clever goes. For the most part. Another style I absolutely appreciate are wedge shoes. I am 5’2 and I love wearing my wedges because I can reach into my cabinets and I’m not straining my neck to look up so far at everybody. Heels have always hurt my feet so they have not been an option for many years.
I like the cargo pants, some of the wide leg pants, and the shift dresses are adorable. The others - not so much, LOL
Capri pants will always look frumpy to me- - and I am definitely no spring chicken!!
The Capri- length blue denim jeans are fine, but please, no Capris in any other material for me!!! 😂
Widenleg are great if the wide starts AFTER a fitted hip.
1980s super baggy jeans are back in style too
I have never stopped wearing my cuffed capris!!! Bring them on!!!!
NOT a fan of the rolled hem. Especially the wide one. Ick! Like the capris sort of. Depends on how they're cut. Dad jeans... nope. Had my fill of baggy pants. At age 67 gotta be a little more selective. Cargo's depend on the cut. Love your chanel.
Rolled jeans hem? Makes legs look shorter!
I wear what I love and makes me feel good. I don’t care what fashion mags say. But I find your videos interesting to watch. Thanks Angela
I absolutely love shift dresses!! ❤❤ They can be at any length, not just short.
Just as a point of information... the capri pants that are in style are not the ones you tried on that ended mid calf. Those in style end at just below the knee. Fashion magazines are showing them with kitten heels or flats. NO SNEAKERS!
I like my mid rise, straight leg jeans I have got a closet full
Love them. 🎉
Hey Angela, nice work! Glad to see some interesting fashion trends coming our way. I have to say that the only one I'm excited about are the Capri Jean Pants. Every year I look high and low for these to come back into style. Yippee It sure makes my life easier with this type of pant, I'm saying that since it's already short I won't have to hem the bottom of these to fit my leg length. I usually have to cut 3-4" off most pants so they don't drag the ground. Those capri jeans are usually just the exact length for me, generally I just unroll them for regular wear. If the weather is hot I will roll them up a little, I've owned some cargo pants before and they generally don't stay good looking for more than 2 years due to flimsy material they're made with. So now I won't consider buying them and wasting my money.
You know…having to cut off inches from jeans is just TOO BAD😊. I have had to try and find longer pants which up until the last 5-9 years were not to be found. There is no way to add length unless you add some silly material, fringe crap. I’m 70 and went through our hippie days struggling to find long legged jeans.👖. Don’t want to hear about having to hem anything! Sorry
I'm grandma two days a week, cargo pants have pockets!! Love my babysitting, cell phone storing, key holding cargo pants pockets! Plus they look good!
Shift dresses can be really cute, just not too short.
I appreciate you bought some trends to try on and show us. Always enjoy your videos.
I just wear jeans and a sweatshirt and hope for the best. 😅
That used to be my daily outfit when my kids were young. 😊👍🏻
Ditto
Heck yes.
I'm hooked on my own look, I just don't like looking like everyone else. I remember back in the day when capris were called clam diggers LOL
Back in MY early days they were called pedal pushers lol
I remember making a shift, actually a lot of them. Back in 1968 or so, when I was in junior high. But I hope we don't see a return of the old "polyester double-knit" fabric that was also popular at the time. It was so sweaty!
Angela, I just love your videos! Informative and they also make me laugh!
Thank you for doing these short vids! Just ordered the "dad" jeans. Always have an issue when trying to find jeans that are comfy but look good. Will never go back to mid rise.
Excellent points.
Love the pleated slacks and wide cuff jeans😀❤️
Love that brand Sunflower!
Mary Tyler Moore on the Dick Van Dyke Show made Capris fashionable in the the 60s. My mom even wore them to the beach. She was in her 40s at that time.
Ooh I love shift dresses and tent dresses. Comfortable and cool.
Love the shift dresses!❤
You will look great in the ‘60’s dresses. There’s a few ladies at our church are wearing them. Hey if I looked like you I’d sure go back to wearing them, maybe not as short as I wore them for a while.😂😂😂. I love the look of simple elegant styles. 😊❤
I am glad you are seeing them already! I can't wait to find the "right' one! Maybe it will appear for spring or summer 😊
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 winter plaid look in dark colors.
thank you for this fun video and tips. lots of ❤️ from Cape Town south Africa
Angela, I so enjoyed your video. You’re too funny. ❤
Love dresses, I’m in!
I love the green dress!
Thank you ❤
Hi Angela hope u had a nice vacation!!❤❤❤ love the video.
Thank you Candi! We had a great time and really enjoy that cruise line! 😊👍🏻
I too love my cargo pants and joggers♥👍👍👍
Awesome video as always Angela! I'm the same way, by the time I wrap my head around a new "trend" it's already going "out" LOL
Fun video!!!
Dad jeans look amazing on you!
I just love your channel. : -)
Hi Angela...the surprise was the capri pants. I love shift dresses..think they are are easy and flattering. I have some from years ago and will wear them. You onow Angela the longer denim capris were not bad. I bet you did not miss the snow and cold. I am ready for Spring ❤❤❤❤
Yes, they do "try different things" to see what sticks. Having a petite body steers me clear of what's considered new or fashionable.
This styles are for a very young generation.
I have worn my capri's religiously for years and patiently waited for them to come back in style......my day has arrived. Bout time.
I feel I have been totally disconnected from fashion since my first son was born in 2003... 😅 I love your videos, my request to you is to make a video on how to wear tops, T-shirts, blouses, any top really. Are we supposed to tuck them in? Wear with a belt, just out and about? 😅 Please help!
I feel ya! I was in your spot exactly when my kids were younger. It was enough just to throw a pair of jeans on and a sweatshirt and call it a day. 😜 It really depends on what you feel comfortable with and how you like the look of a tucked shirt on your or do you like it better if you do a front tuck? If I do a front tuck, then I may put on a belt so you get a tiny view of the belt to make the outfit look complete. Keep watching and through my styling videos....coming....you will see ideas on how to style your shirts 👍🏻
Those dad jeans look amazing on you! And I love capris! 🙂
Thank you Laura!
I'm with you on the capri pants!!!!
I love the jeans with the wide cuff
The blue jean capris look killer on you Angela! That is the length I like to wear capris at. If the capri length hits right below the knee, the capri is too short! The pair of Dad jeans you ordered look really nice on too! At last, a blue jean that isn’t high water!!
Thank you Connie! 😊
I love the dad jean on you! You are so adorable and I love how you present the styles on your channel. Keep up the good work! :)
Love the 60’s dresses!
metallic pants makes me think of the puffer jackets I bought for my dogs when the temps dropped earlier this month. My dog in the silver looked like a old time spaceman (Bichon-Poodle) but my sweetie in the gold looked so cute (Shih Tzu).
Awe, they were styling!! 🐶🐶
I am liking the capris on you! Liking the stuff so far!! The metallic stuff is for the young women or girls.
Wow I just took about 3 pair of the capri pants to Goodwill about 3 months ago because they said they were out for just that reason about the part of the leg showing was not in. So here I go again - going around in circles...LOL!
You look so cute in the dad jean! The metallic jeans took me to gold lame on the very old cougar. I like the capris because they cover my knees!
Your dance moves crack me up!
How very entertaining and informative
A lot of NoS for me
I have pretty much done my own thing
Love my Levi’s!
Only one dress in my closet that I haven’t worn in years
Comfort is my goal
Thanks for sharing❤
😂😂,😂😂😂NO WORDS😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 OH ANGELA YOU MAKE ME LAUGH😂😂😂😂😂TY
Agree. Still laughing
I did the capris for a while because that seemed like all they always had for petites, but you are right. They make my legs look cut off and overall make me look shorter than I already am, which is 4’10”!!! So, I will wear cropped pants which are almost regular length for me and will wear high rise and wide or flared legs which can make me look taller depending on the length and the style of shoes. Thanks Angela!
Hi Angela, I’m like you as far as it taking me a long time to like a new trend. I finally did decide to broaden my fashion horizon, and try different jean styles, other than my tried and true skinnies, which I still love the best. I hated straight leg, but finally forced myself to give them a chance, and hated them at first, now I have a couple of pair, and decided, I do like them, and I have liked boyfriend jeans for a long time. They’re so cute and comfy. As far as capris, just the name sounds old. My grandma swears by them, I guess. She wears them in the summer, all summer. Hahah! I do have to say, the jean capris you had on in this video were very cute on you. Thanks Angela, for another fun and informative video.
Hi Karen! I feel like going from skinny jeans to straight leg or even wide leg is kind of like going from whole milk to skim milk. At first you hate it because you are not used to it but little by little, the skim just becomes normal. 🤣
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 Haha, yes perfect description too. It just takes a while, and eventually we come around.
I think the different trends are just to get you to throw away stuff and them you have to shop and constantly spend money.
I have to say you are looking great! Your skin looks great! That color looks wonderful on you!!! ❤
I have a ton of the dresses still. They are great !!!!!!👍
