Did you reveal the tutor off worldly tutor? Any time a tutor allows you to find a specific type of card, it will make you reveal it before putting it in your hand or on top of your library, so you can't cheat and find something else.

I actually run a kess with a similar build, only I realized early on the token generation was not a very reliable way to win, so I threw in some spell copying effects, Mana Producing Rituals, Jaya's Immolating Inferno & exsanguinate. Ultimately, I hope to land on either of the last 2 & Mana Geyser, either copying Mana Geyser or replaying it with Kess, to close out the game. The game plan is very volatile, but it's fairly consistent for a turn 6-12 win.
Sounds fun. I have a Galazeth deck that runs a lot of those same spells. Besides the exsanguinate of course

I must have missed it, but how did Jose get Mana Drain back from the GY?
When he casts bond of insight off of the mixzix mastery, it allows him to return 2 instant /sorcery cards from his graveyard to his hand. He chooses mana drain and force of will.

Boy do I hate Aura Shards
I hate playing against it. But boy do I love when its on my side of the field. I'm building Karametra deck and that was the first card I put in there lol

Its gonna get worse. The new Urabrask presents a lock when partnered with Drannith Magistrate. The praetor turns all draws into impulse draws.
