Here's a snow recovery that we almost didn't get. Only if we had an off road wrecker! czcams.com/video/-0xwq9YKGJo/video.html
😂😂😂😂
The most dangerous part of the video was eating gas station biscuits and gravy with hot sauce, and then immediately going somewhere without a bathroom. 😂
The way these people eat, they’ll all have serious medical problems by the time they are 60. Then, they’ll wonder “why are we on 6 different medications?” I’m 54 and when I go for my annual checkup, my doctor (and their staff) are in awe of the fact that I am not on a single medication. They are truly in disbelief. My wife works in the medical field, and she says we are a very rare couple not to be on some type of maintenance meds. 90% of Americans over 50 are on some type of medication. Sad that people don’t take better care of themselves and then complain about the state of the healthcare system.
Indeed!! 🤣🤣🤣
Trees work well with snow cover!
Thank you ! I was gonna say how are they still alive? Not from running out of gas , not from dangerous recovery’s , but the gas station food . Lol
That ain't food... it's just belly fill.
I wondered why the Banana was struggling so much more than the Morrvair on that icy hill. Thanks for clearing that up for me! Love y'all. God bless.
It probably is the tires as Matt is hands on but it is a different vehicle and the gearing might turn the wheels faster on the Banana.
the jeep is lighter also. weight is a good thing to a point.
He also likes the tires worn down for sand, sho they were like slicks on snow.
Yep, it mostly comes down to your vehicle's tires and their traction, (or lack thereof), when you're driving on snow, and especially on ice!
Matt, this is why this channel rocks! You let Jayme and Lizzy have at it with just the right amount of tips to make it happen flawlessly with no bravado or making a big deal about it. This is the way you teach people, simply by being nice and helpful. Hope to see these two do more recovery work themselves cause they can get it done! Well done folks, well done indeed.
Matt and Jayme are definitely raising Lizzy right and teaching her well with useful, as well as fun, skills and knowledge. When you get to do what you love for a living, everyday is an adventure that you look forward to getting out of bed for in the mornings. There's approximately zero chance that Lizzy or her siblings will mature to be slackers or perpetually offended snowflakes.
My Dad had a different teaching method. Tell you nothing and berate you for doing it wrong.Brilliant!
Exactly and that "involuntary" drifting at the end was cool lol. ;) Been following for maybe 6 months now but recently started watching alot of Matt's videos. :D Great people on this channel and I am happy to see they are making moeny doin' what they love it looks like. 🍻 From PA here.
Jayme and Lizzy could have done this without Matt, he wasn't needed here.
@@79firebirdman You are aware that Lizzy is just a married employee and not Matt's child ? Matt and Jaime had 3 boys only. Have a nice Day.
I had a mother & grandmother, and they knew how to take charge, when needed; the two ladies (here) know the same & their abilities should not be questioned. Matt is lucky to have these wonderful ladies (his wife & L) in his life & aiding in his work. I compliment them, & of course Matt & his (large) crew.
Refreshing to see proper recovery techniques finally. Shame the camera work was little sketchy this time. Not sure what was different. :P
yeah, he had two jobs, run the camera and be quiet, totally failed at both. 🤣🥳
This shows, no matter how many times you assist with a recovery, you won’t learn till you have to fully do it yourself. Fun video
This is so hilarious and wholesome
"Jaymie & Lizzy's off-road recovery" I like that. Hope to see that more often
I like the 'oh,crap', he's testing us, looks
That was a LOT of fun! Thanks for taking us along and thumbs UP to Jaymie and Lizzy. Good job Mr Camera man !
The look on Matt's face at the end as Jamie bites into the victory pie... Probably one of my favorite scenes so far HAHAHA.
My wife of 35 years passed away a year and a half ago…. It does my heart good to see the relationship the two of you have! Keep laughing!
🙏🙏🙏
This recovery was a blast to watch. Matt did a very good job of watching his mouth and being very positive. So enjoyable to have the gals do a recovery and show us how it's done!
Dear Ed,
I am sorry to see you surrender your “man card”. Women are weak! They cannot even lift a tire without hurting themselves.
"You can quit pretending!"
I had to laugh out loud because we all knew from the getgo than Matt never could be a **silent** observer... 😂😂😁😁😇😇
But yeah, helping at all the recoveries or doing it without Matt's guidance is different. It's cool that Matt can teach his crew this way and spread his knowledge so that they get a feel for assassing the situation and coming up with a plan. Because it's a whole other thing if you have to do it yourself rather than follow instructions... ✌️
Definitely, you can see it with Jefe. He's gone on rescues and done it without Matt and came back to tell you all about it. 😋
Matt keeping his mouth shut; that's a good one. 😎
But they should definitely have known better... To me, it was clear from the beginning that turning left and going in reverse would be the way to get the Tacoma turned around. And I have only been watching like every other video of Matt's. These girls have been on a whole lot more of recoveries than I have been watching.
This is why you all are soo loved and viewed. Never a dull moment. Jamie and Lizzie are the best part of the team.
And both of them are cuter than a bugs ear... just sayin.
Victory pie for Jamie and victory A&W rootbeer for Lizzie!!
This is why Matt is the God of all things 4x4 and off-road. When he sees a situation, he doesn’t look at it like everyone else. His brain starts laying out all possible solutions at once. Totally amazing!!!
I love how you treat lizzie you are the absolute best mentor I have ever seen!
Love it. The girls have the driving skills under instruction. Now giving them the extra room to work out why which skills are used in different situations. Well done ladies! And Matt.... High Five dude! It is so hard to do that and remain humble. Good job.
The entire recovery team is great. Matt is a great boss with whom you have nothing to fear if something doesn't work out right away. I see your videos from Germany and I'm totally blown away, because here in Germany we are unfortunately not allowed to build vehicles ourselves like you do in the US.
For some reason that surprises me.
@@imonlyhalfnutsreally2113 If u build a car from a scratch in usa like matt does, Do u have to get it inspected or how does it get legal?
@Anton Joleka Here in the US something like the morrvair would not be legally considered a scratch built vehicle, and you basically can't build a vehicle from scratch. It needs to have a VIN from an existing vehicle. If I had to guess, the morrvair kept a corvair vin and the wrecker will use the vin from the international truck, even though they only used the cab from it. You do not need to get vehicle modifications inspected, and legally these vehicles are modified, not scratch built.
@@jaredlancaster4137 Yeah but just using a cab for wrecker to make it legal?? Isnt that a bit of a strecth?
@@aljosaskrabelj8412 it’s more about making sure it’s the one and only, thus you really only need the identifiable part of the car. The firewall is enough. On other vehicles it may be the core support. How much of the car you use is not really that important. In some states you can build *ALL* of the car and attach your own VIN. However the amount of documentation you need becomes absurd - you need receipts for all the parts and pictures of the build etc. to prove you really did build it and not stole it.
I know it’s strange to other parts of the world, but here you can build just about anything. Cars, boats planes …. Yeah it might have to be inspected and proven airworthy but you can still legally build it.
Good MORRning everybody, Thumbs UP to Matt and crew 👍
Matt is such a good teacher, along with Rory, that I feel like I could almost do a recovery just from watching this channel. OK, I said almost.
I've performed a few recoveries after just watching his channel lol. Granted I've watched other stuff like this. Obviously I haven't done any recoveries that are as extreme as what Matt does daily.
nah i fully agree
I would say that my recovery skills have improved since watching Matt, as well as my off reading awareness.
When you own a Jeep and proper recovery gear, you will find yourself going out and looking for people to help. MORR teaches me the proper way to "hook up." 😁
Matt - you are too cool!!! Your inability to remain quiet must be addressed.
Seriously though, your ability to step aside and let Jaymie and Lizzy test their mettle not only builds their confidence, but every woman/wife/girlfriend/off-road enthusiast just got a better sense of empowerment and maybe even an increased desire to become brave enough to go on a trail either as a passenger or a driver.
This is a good example of one of Matt's skills, empowering others.
Agreed.
Jamie, you and Lizzie proved yourselves to be the dynamic distaff duo. Great job ladies!
I'd like to see more of this (Matt sitting on his hands, but for real), give lizzie and others some room to grow - when the job allows for it
He's going to have to seen as how most of his crew seemed to of been beemed up ..... be intresting to see what the real truth is to why everyone just vanished a few weeks back
@SnakePit Rides yes but his A class crew have just been beemed up and I don't really belive the speech we was given something is going on same as the way lizzy isn't on as much something behind the scenes isn't ringing right to me
@@ashleywright1991 Oooooo, drama!
Butt for real! 😎
Yeah and then review the film the next day like they do in football
GREAT JOB.... JAYMIE AND LIZZY....YOU BOTH HAVE A GREAT TEACHER.
it's so nice of you MAT to teach LIZZY all the stuff you do...great job guys
It is great that you three get along so well, now the MORR crew can split up on recoveries and the three of you will not worry as much, because you know how to work as teams.
Keep up this great channel!
I am amazed at how you consistently create top-notch content. You have mastered a perfect balance of pride and humility. I look forward to every episode. (need a Trevor update)
He attended Ed's birthday party. and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him at the wrecker competition. He left MORR/WT because the irregular hours and long commute got old.

@@evmexia88 it's true, what he said.
It's always nice to have a great backup crew. Great job ladies.
Love the humor and good natured ribbing you all give each other. Be safe out there, and thanks for all the great content.
The ladies, Jaime and Lizzy, are the bombs ! Fine recovery with Matt providing "tips"...
Of course those ladies did an amazing job, they have had the best instructor. Great post as usual, not wanting to push things but would love to see Jaymie and Lizzie reversing trailers, and perhaps a rescue using one.
Tip for the editor on the static. If this happens again use Audacity, select "Vocal Reduction and Isolation" change the setting to isolate vocals only. Nearly perfect audio. I did a test sample on the video and it cleared all the static. Best part it's free and takes seconds!
That's a great suggestion! But even better is leaving it in and letting us experience Matt's less-than-adequate skills behind the camera. That was precious!
@8:40 I actually really like that you explained WHY you pull them out way you do, the reasoning we don't always hear out loud is how you guys always make it look so easy! I started carrying a strap in my truck to pull people out when need be & your tips will help me learn how to plan better as well (:
YES!! Exactly my thoughts as well. This a great way to learn
good job ladies,i knew matt couldnt be quiet, until you asked him for help.hes a good teacher.
That was awkward, but fun! I wasn’t sure how it was going to end. Great job ladies! You deserve that pie ❤
I once went to the Yard for a visit and Matt broke up a meeting to come out and say hello. I took a picture with Matt and chatted for a few seconds. He didn't have to. Matt is an admirable individual. I also got to talk with Lizzy, that little ray of sunshine had me tongue tied.
Great teaching opportunity for the ladies to show how much they have learned over the years, as well as build their confidence…. Good work Matt
Good to see the ladies do the rescue with their own abilities. Way to go Jamie & Lizzy. Stay safe ya'll
I keep seeing new to me unwatched videos. It was great seeing Jaymie and Lizzy do the recovery. The initial pull to get the truck headed the correct direction went very well. The rest of the pull is not trivial either. You need enough speed or pulling ability by the Morrvair to not get stuck but not so much speed that you risk a collision if the Morrvair slows or stops for an unexpected reason. Keep wearing those seat belts.
I'd like to think I know a bit about this kinda work but.... honestly, I'd never have thought of the initial bump direction of that Toyota's (counter intuitive) front wheel angle!!! Bravo Matt 👏 👏 👏 always a joy to watch an expert at work
I loved the spoken words from Jamie and the look on Lizzy's face when Matt said he was going to keep is mouth closed. Priceless. Now down to the nitty gritty.....Matt, you know good and well that those ladies could have done that all by themselves. I learned the best way to teach someone something is to just let them do it. I have sat back so many times watching people I trained to things the hard way, wrong way, and easy way only offering my advice when asked or when the job was done. The biggest difference between what I used to do and what you do is personal property damage. If you were to see that what they were thinking or in the process of doing might cause some property damage based on your experience, I probably would have spoken up. Other than that......... I would have let them do it. 2 thumbs up to Jamie and Lizzy!!
Agreed he’s a bit clumsy saying he’ll just stay quiet and then being all edgy and all - it’s not making them comfortable to learn, a bit awkward. But it’s a very natural mistake to make when starting delegating out. Matt will get more comfortable himself and let them take more ownership, provide advice / guardrails only when necessary or asked. The praises at the end are great way to encourage them to learn and reinforce their confidence tho.
A specific point where he could’ve been a better teacher is when he asked Lizzie to turn the wheels all the way - a better lesson is simply ask her if she should do something with the wheels to help out the recovery. She’ll think about it, maybe find the solution herself already, maybe not - she can hear the answer & logic behind it now, but then moving forward she’ll always remember to ask herself this question every time she’s getting started behind the wheel.
You need to build a rig for Jamie and Lizzy!
@@Duce7753 the question is, what to build that rig out of.
Good tip there! " I learned the best way to teach someone something is to just let them do it"
@@Mentaloow seriously?? Y'all need to get a life for real. Get off your pedestal! You're literally commenting on something someone else is out living and doing. Any moron can watch others do something and then say other ways it could've been done. You talk about how Matt needs to be a better teacher but boy do you have a lot to learn
Kudos to Matt for this Girl Power video. It’s all about teaching, and learning, and experiencing to attain proficiency whatever the task at hand (and whatever the gender). Likewise watching Matt training the other boys now that Rudy has moved on.
I love how the whole gang respects and encourages Lizzie on all the videos. I’m looking forward to seeing what she does with her life professionally.

Jayme and Lizzi did a great job doing the Toyota recovery. Like too see them do more. Always a great channel.
Awesome, so glad for the team you lead, Jamie and Lizzy did an amazing job , I'm short of words , finally you have some rest ,and fun at the same time.
Congrats for you all.
Keep it Up.
Yet another great video. It is always fun to watch Lizzy and Jayme get in on the fun. It appears that the Patagonia folks have adjusted their compound making a good tire into a great one. It's the same thing that BFG did when they made their All-Terrain TA K02. The old AT's were ok,....but had some issues on wet pavement. Like the new Patagonia, the K02 is a vastly superior tire in all conditions, plus it rides well and is very quiet for a "lug" type tire.
Hello Matt and company. Over the summer I watched a recovery of front wheel drive with broken lower ball joint. Driver jacked up front right side. Removed the wheel. Then bailing wired a 12"x12" plywood board to control arm as makeshift skid to slide it up backwards on his roll back truck.
Pretty sharp guy!
The girls will be just fine on their own, having the boss looking over your shoulder would make even the most experienced people nervous. Your entire team is great.
I'm happy to see Liz get airtime on the channel. I'm rooting for her since lately she's not been getting much of it despite her being a huge part of the channel from its inception.
Wondered this too…. She doesn’t seem as chipper, either.

@@motochris5459 lol good question. But explains it all
Is that Tacoma in 4wd and is the rear locker on? It looks sort of like it could drive out of there.
Most people have to pay good money to see those sights, you are getting paid to see them! How blessed can you be?
Ms. Jamie's look of approval when you said the ladies were doing such a great job was priceless, until she ate the victory pie and your smile turned to a frown! I have to agree with her, just a little coaching and one day they will be rippin up and down the trails doing their own recoveries, while you relax....right!
Great job Jamie and Lizzy. I believe y'all could have done it 100% without Matt being there. I think Jamie got a little nervous because of Matt. But you both did an excellent job.
I feel alot of people don't realize that turning off the traction control makes a world of a difference in the taco
Since it was a TRD OR..surprised crawl control wouldn't get them out where they were stuck
Turn off the traction control, limited slip, put in 4 low with the rear locker. Maybe some better tires.
I think these folks didn’t put it into 4lo and use the MTS or crawl systems.
@@mikefoehr235 not all Taco TRDs have crawl abilities. I own a 2018 and while it has 4wd hi and lo it's a lower model and doesn't have crawl mode . Maybe something to do with being a manual transmission it's not an option.
It wasn't gonna crawl out of that no matter what mode.
I think this is the first Tacoma I have seen you recover. Great job, ladies. Matt it would be great to meet your team and if I ever make it out west.
I want to know why the owner didn't go 4 lo and either engage MTS snow mode, lock the rear diff, or put it in crawl control.
Because none of that does anything when you are high centered.
Spend some time getting stuck in the snow. That could have been a 4x2 too. Those fancy traction settings on the dashboard only take you so far. They don't make you invincible. Having said that, if that was a 4x4 and judging by how bad they appeared to be stuck, it sure seemed like they should have been able to get unstuck themselves with a little effort.
@@nofascists it was 4x4 and the driver was not smart at all 😂

Matt, you're fortunate to have surrounded yourself with some of the most capable people in the U.S.A. The fact that they all seem to have marvelous personalities is an added bonus. You've carved out a life that nearly every man would be envious of.
It was a good thing Lizzy and Jamie brought along someone to hold the camera. Otherwise we wouldn't have seen them get 'em out!
Way to go, ladies!!! Nicely done. Would love to see more recoveries with the ladies leading. I'm so happy to see Jamie and Lizzy getting more time in the videos.

[What goes on inside Matt's head during a job????] Hmmm... 'it looks easy'.... BUT based on my experience some jobs get complicated quickly ... every pull is different (and OMG, have I seen different) ... but there are basics that I know work... "Stop, Evaluate (say what you are thinking inside your head, out loud), Rig (based on your experience), educate (every one in the vicinity about the dangers of the current plan), Execute the plan as described... and ALWAYS be ready to STOP!!!! ... for the next plan... that starts with "Stop, Evaluate, Rig, Educate, Try' 99.996% of the time, WE WILL GET THEM OUT! @@tman8939 Guess you missed the deer in the headlights look.
I was grateful to see an adjustment in tires for the snowy conditions. The tires you normally run are great for mud, rock, sand, etc. but quite worthless in snowy conditions. These tires have more siping molded into the tread and should offer a considerable improvement. Alternatively you could have the other tires siped for winter conditions, but this would compromise the tread in the sharp rocky conditions you often encounter. Tires are always a compromise, never a perfect fit for EVERY condition.
The best you can ever do is teach with hands on experience. Beautiful thank you sir for sharing your love and talents with everyone brother 🙏👍🤙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤🙏👍🤙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@@Ty_N_KC I have not seen that and I have subscribed and watched every video they come out with, and yet do not recall it being on the road. They are still working on it, as of last Sunday, they were remounting the shocks to create clearance when the truck is at an extreme flex mode, which for rock crawling, it happens from time to time. I believe Chad is still doing wiring to it. I also get their instagram and I have not seen it there either on the road. At most, they have trailered it someplace to get something done a time or two.

@@Ty_N_KC I am well aware of the delays in video, I make them myself, so when I shoot something, it may be a month before I am ready to upload.
I'll go back and look. You DO realize that may be a doctored photo. A lot of the thumbnails can be made before the video is put together. Typically they grab a still, then doctor it in a photo editing software, like Photoshop. Generally speaking the build videos are I think more up to date than the rescue videos to begin with or they were when they did the Banana, it was, at best maybe a week behind.
Well done Matt for helping your staff to be able to do these jobs without you, as we often see you're not available and yet tows still need to happen.

Mr. Matt you made mention the other day wandering how to get enough ele. power for the WLOW. There is a company called Mechman that specializes in high output alternators for offroad vehicles. Might be worth a look. I appreciate your videos and the fact I can allow my grandchildren to watch and not have to worry about bad language. Thank you and your crew.
Oh Matt what an awesome recovery and learning the tips. Definitely Jamie & Lizzy are tops!! Great mentoring!!
I’m curious about if the MT/O2 tires are just for winter (snow and ice) or if they are good for all seasons. They sure seem to work really well here. Great job! -as always.
It doest seem like they are rated for snow. They are a Mud Terrain tire. Pretty much most mud terrain tires aren't great in snow compared to a Snow rated AT or snow tire. I didn't see any mention of the 3 peak mountain snowflake on the website. I would assume they are an all season tire.
Matt says he will use them all year round.
the winter rubber compound affects the dry grip and adhesion slightly, and M/Ts are usually designed with more "wet/loose" dispersion from the treadway that A/Ts, but anyone but a heavy user wont notice. I have Geolander A/Ts on all year but you def get a 2nd/3rd winter of outstanding traction if you swap for seasonals. Asphalt is hard on 'cold weather' designed tires.
I had a great vacation in Utah a few years ago with the family - went in the summer for about 10 days, Salt Lake City, nearby areas like Sandy, and a couple of day trip down to Zion and Bryce Canyon. If we went in the winter could have been a rescue on this show. Dang, we could have been famous. 🤣
I love the crew. I really do. They feel like family. But I kinda miss the days of Matt driving out to a job in the banana. That’s what got me watching and then subscribing. It was the simplicity of the videos that was appealing to me. Maybe in the future we can get episodes with Matt in the WLORW and Lizzy in the Morrvair and maybe Jefe in the Banana.

This is good. Scenarios teach tons whether real or simulated. People often have that same 'deer in the headlights' look when on the spot. Hopefully they guess less and less using reason and knowledge to deal with it as they learn to relax while being tested. Perfect practice is what makes perfect!
We do this often in our club and with swift water rescue training when each can take a turn at being scene commander, anchor, vector and all the other tasks. Nice to see.
"... from here, to here, or here, or even all the way up here.' Brilliant, Matt.
Goodmorning guys
Matt can afford to give Lizzy and others some room to grow when the jobs allow it, and even if it doesn't work out, Lizzy could decide what's suits herself. Lizzy is an excellent welder, excellent driver, I hope she conquers all that she desires in this life time.
Allow me please to ask; are you or do you intend to make your car water proof?!
Thank you!
Enjoyed this video so much!
We live in northern UT, ski resort towns, around 6k elevation. It's not uncommon for us to wake up to 2 feet or more of fresh snow with alot of ice underneath from the nights freeze. We still manage to get kids to school and get to work just fine🤣 I'm glad you've discovered the magic of tires with a nice soft low temp compound. Snow tires or high silica compound tires are the bomb in winter weather and snow! It makes a world of difference.
Very first winter on the rocks I went to at Sand Hollow, I buried my non 4 wheel drive at the time pickup in the sand by the green gate, and I hiked my happy butt up to Double Sami trail and got in with some folks there. It wasn’t as horrible of an experience as ya might think. I recall it being quite warm that day.
YAY!!!
You are currently top of my list.. Congratulations..

I met this guy leaving the Love's truck stop in Little Rock Ar. He had on his MORR shirt, so I just had to ask if he got pulled out. He said yep, and that y'all were good folks. Been waiting on this video. Can't wait for the wrecker Olympics!
