I love your pattern choices, Izzy. I’m from Ireland and although I’ve been living in NY for 34 years now, I still call them ‘waistcoats’ what you call ‘vests’ or sleeveless jackets😊

All the patterns are so well chosen! It will really look so good on you. I also do not like tucking my tops, but I am trying to learn how to get used to it. Love the top pattern, silk will be so awesome. That jacket will be so stylish as a suit! I love all your plans! Just so stylish

Love all your patterns .don’t worry about the pockets in the vests ,they are fake so it’s very easy to sew .

Oh my goodness, I love all the patterns you’ve selected! So my style, but since I’ve left the workforce not many places to wear them. I’m excited to see what fabrics you choose. Darn, really love the wrap top but only picked up the Parker Ponte Pants since I’ve not used Style Arc before. Izzy, I’d say you are an Intermediate to Advanced sewist, you do beautiful work. ❤

Girl you got this! Plus, their instructions ARE getting better :). Yay for StyleArc! One of my favorites!! I'm not a tucker either. But it looks great on you! I have the Bonita top! I know I've sworn off wrap tops/dresses - but maybe we should do a collab 🤣 Maybe a top would be better than a dress?? A 3 piece suit - yes! Do it in all plaid! I know you won't but that would make me so happy 😊
If you're up for a Collab on the Bonita, I'm in!! I was looking at wool today and saw a mini check fabric I loved. I didn't pull the trigger on it because it was very expensive, but I think I do want a small print or something that reads solid but isn't. Maybe not a plaid because the print matching would be a nightmare!! xx 💞

Some very classy choices there! I was only looking on Amazon this morning for Style Arc as Michelle told us all about the sale. A vest to us is an undergarment, a sleeveless t shirt type thing. I would call your item a waistcoat, you are going to look very put together if you make a whole outfit for work 👏🏼. Loved seeing your choices and lots of trouser patterns and lined trousers?! Well you are certainly not a beginner anymore ❤ xxx
Thank you Carole! If I do manage to make successful garments from these patterns, I’m going to have a very smart work wardrobe in the new year. I would love to focus more on work-wear in 2024 now that I’m back in office regularly. Should be fun (challenging too, but fun!). Xx 💞

Great patterns. Specially loving the waistcoat and wide leg trousers. Being retired there are fewer opportunities to wear stuff like that and frankly I miss it. Won’t be going back to work though 😂 so will look forward to yours. I find the instructions on the newer Style Arc patterns to be better than older ones. They just need very careful reading in my experience. And I am not such a good sewist as you. 😊

Wow, great choices. I don't think you should be scared to sew them. I have made 5 Style Arc patterns and they all turned out just great. No fly zip pants though. I like their esthetic. Your suit is going to be a work wear staple as you make coordinating separates to mix in. I look forward to seeing your fabric choices and finished wardrobe.

Thanks for sharing all your Style Arc patterns! I really like the look of the Spencer trousers as well. I haven't watched Whitney's recent video - I remember asking whether she was going to flip the fly so they opened the other direction. I tried reversing that on a SA jeans pattern and my brain couldn't do it 😜 Looking forward to seeing your makes whenever they happen! Happy sewing!

You will do a great job sewing those up! I look forward to seeing your makes! Great pattern choices. I haven’t been brave enough to try a style arc pattern yet. I got my Arlington dress done Sunday for my Christmas party this Friday. Probably the last time I will be sewing velvet 😉
I got a cut of stretch crushed velvet for my holiday outfit and I’m really nervous about sewing with it but I’m thinking it might be easier to sew with than straight up velvet. Did you do the bishop sleeves for the Arlington? I’m hoping those Style Arc patterns work out for me! 💞
@@dizzyquiltsandsews I did not do the bishop sleeves. I did the puff elbow again. I found that working with it I had to pin and then hand baste everything. It sewed really nicely on my serger. I only used my regular machine for the hems on the bottom and sleeves. In hind sight I should have basted the cowl neck together before I tried to baste it onto the dress. That was the most fiddly part. 3 layers of that stuff not wanting to stay put. I was going to do a cuffed sleeve but decided not to because of my experience with the cowl. Have a great weekend!
Hi. I’m new to your channel and really liked it! I’ve made the Joy vest. I made it this summer to wear without a shirt underneath. I’m a C cup in the bust and I had to do some tweaking to make armholes fit properly. Wearing the vest with a blouse underneath may take care of that problem. I made it out of a heavy white linen. Your suit idea sounds great! Can’t wait to follow along.

I have only made one Style Arc pattern and it was the Parker Ponte pants. I love them, but I used ponte and it's a little too tight for me. I like my pants to fall away from my body but not wide legs. I like you am DD or F and my waist is only 4 inches smaller than my bust and my hips are same as bust..So I like patterns that go in at waist even though I don't have a waist it makes me look better. I love the boxy look, but it doesn't look good on me. I'm anxious to see your makes as it will give me ideas of things for myself. Thanks for a great video.
Thank you! Sounds like you and I have very similar shapes. I kept hearing that Style Arc patterns run big so I sized down for my Parker Ponte Pants and they were way too tight for my liking so I went with a size 20 which is what my measurements point to and I love the fit now. I’m probably going to do a fit test for the trousers, but I suspect there won’t be many adjustments to make because once I went to a 20 on the Parkers, I needed very small adjustments. 💞

Will be super exciting Izzy to see all the beautiful clothes you sew with your new patterns. My Black Friday splurge was to renew my Cashmerette Club membership and the Style Circle. Appreciate the reminder on that. Last year flew by and I want to find those links to the Style circle. Probably in my email. Would love to see that recording of Jen's session with you. Is that on a Facebook link or an outside source link? Got as far as supposed to put together a Pinterest board on one of her courses, got overwhelmed and didn't finish it. xx Karen

There should definitely be a link to your dashboard in the email you received and that is where everything gets posted, including the member styling sessions. She’s re-doing her Signature Style class in the Spring so that it depends less on Pinterest so you should definitely check that out when it’s released. Xx 💞

I think the only fabric I've adored for skirts and trousers is wool gabardine.
Do people still use that? I know my sewing would have to be much more confident to spend a mess of money on wool, but it would be light enough to work even on a back elasticated waistband.
I like the idea of a wool gabardine… I’m going to do some research on that! I’m trying to find some inexpensive wool-like polyester fabric to make test garments from these patterns. I found a few on Minerva, but so far, no wood gabardine. 💞
