    Beautifully maintained, and never chartered, Hyperlas is a lovely example of the Hylas 54 which was designed to go blue water sailing in comfort and safety while still giving you goose bumps from the sheer exhilaration of sailing a masterpiece.
    Comfort comes with the huge master cabin aft with the centre-line king sized bed. A light and spacious salon which invites you to sit down, relax and soak in the quality of the surrounding workmanship. A galley with space to be creative. Two sleeping cabins forward giving guests space and privacy.
    Safety comes with the strength of build which incorporates Twaron, a carbon fibre, which is layered into the solid fibreglass hull. Watertight crash bulkheads fore and aft. Wide side decks with solid hand holds for safety going forward and standing rigging as fat as your finger!
    Joy of sailing comes from a German Frers designed hull. A mast reaching 73 feet above the water which enables roughly 1800 sq foot of sail to be flown which is easily handled using powered winches. Typically while on passage you do not need to leave the safety of the well designed cockpit. Solid, safe and forgiving is not uncommon in offshore designs, but combine that with the feeling of elation you will get when under sail and you begin to realize why the 54 is so special.
    Down below is light and spacious with enough sleeping accommodation for a soccer team (five doubles and a single) if needed. The quality of the joinery is notable, but many owners say it is the little things that make them really appreciate the thought and understanding that German Frers and the builders at the Queen Long yard poured into the yacht. Things such as the ball bearing runners that make the drawers move so smoothly, the deep twin sinks located near the centreline so they drain on either tack, access to filters, pumps and so on.
    Hyperlas is finally coming up for sale by the original owners who have proudly cruised her from California to Alaska over thirteen wonderful years.
    Now it is your turn. Enjoy!

    I'm a big fan of this model. I've seen many examples. I think it's a little or maybe a lot overpriced for a monohul. Probably my favorite mid sized monohull. I'm always impressed with the interior woodwork.

    If I could afford it and had access to some help sailing it when I needed to, I would get the 53' Oyster 2001 for sale in St. Petersburg Florida for $450k. I saw it the other day, looks great top side. Two issues though, it only has 180 gallons of fuel vs the Hylas with 300, and only has an 88 hp engine vs 125 in the Hylas. But for me, both would be ok as I would use either boat as a liveaboard.

    • @calibreyachtsales
      @calibreyachtsales  Před 6 lety +3

      This Hylas was built with extra fuel capacity, I am sure some Oysters were built with the same.

    I like that sailboat too bad I could afford to have it. What I really like about is this a center cockpit for driving the boat it's better than trying to look through a wall in the back of the boat trying to sale that probably is the best part of the boat is you can actually see where you're driving the boat for sale in the boat then try to look around and trying to guess where everything's at.

    Things missing for the mechanical minded. Engine room, bilge, chain locker/windlass. Water tight doors? Is there a water maker? Batteries/amp.hrs, charging system, kws of generator, engine hp. Air conditioning in master only? Engine/generator hours? Years since overhaul? Nice woodwork and open concept. Not crazy about the wash/dryer in the shower stall, and, access to engine room. Weight and gallonage.

      I had a 1999 Beneteau 46. First boat. Sailed it. Extensively Amd modified electronics and added fuel tanks and genset etc. kk was amazed that it snd most boats have no large diameter PVC chases throughout the boat. They just run wire after wire. Bundled and exposed. In another life... also I like the Amel single water intake thru hull. And it’s sea birth and nav station and galley. I’ve sailed in it. It is bullet proof but not fun to sail. It’s fun to use all the gadgets but the boat is not exciting when it’s sailing. It feels like a bus.

    The installation of helm station instruments is clearly very sloppy. Take a close look

    Nice presentation but it's really a shame that poor fellow has to carry all that weight... How did that happen?

    Great boat. Too much time spent using the drone. Other wise this is a fine yacht.
