    I found the benefits of an AIO enhancement when I first got the Rupes yellow wool pads last year. My cars only have light defects as I keep them well maintaned and using an AIO is so much quicker as once you’ve polished, your done. No IPA wipedowns then moving on to protection stages. I wait until the following weekly wash then top with a more durable sealant or favourite LSP. The yellow wool pads bring any AIO to the next levelYet to use UNO Protect but will definitely have to give it a try👍

    Hi
    I loved the video.
    Is this product good for cars with paint that is is good condition, not requiring a "cut" and polished.
    Also if you are in an area that has had a lot of rain and you find when the weather clears that you have rain spots in the paint that do not come out with a mild polished what is the best way to get rid of and neutralise the calcium deposits?
    Pleas do a video on this and also let me know the best solution.
    Regards
    Mike

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for watching Mike. That is a lot of questions, so I'll answer them in order.
      It is good for cars in good condition as a light maintenance polish. Just choose a finer pad, like our yellow or white foams to reduce the cutting action.
      Water spots can vary in severity from region to region based on the environment and what is in your rain water, so the solution is not universal. For minor spotting a mild surface cleaner or quick detailer can work, for slightly more stubborn spots you can find dedicated water spot removers (RUPES does not make one of these) and in more extreme cases compound and polish may be required, even sanding in very extreme cases.

    Hi Rupes.. im a huge fan of your product. What if the car already has ceramic coating but swirl mark already start to build. Which uno should i used... pure or protect?

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Some ceramic coatings can be polished lightly, others cannot. It is best to consult the manufacturer of the coating for their recommendation. In the event you can polish it, UNO protect would not be suitable as a solution since it deposits a different type of protection on top and it may interfere with the properties of the coating.

    Hi! After the application of a UNO Protect it is possible days after to apply carnauba wax or a quick detailer?

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 3 lety

      Yes it is, but as we indicated in an earlier response, you may actually reduce the performance of UNO as a result. Natural waxes and most spray detailers will not have the same level of water beading/sheeting as UNO Protect does. Doesn't cause any issues, but it would be a reduction in performance. If you do want to use a topper we recommend sticking to a product that is the polymer sealant family to keep the performance somewhat consistent.

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 4 lety +2

      You are correct. The other product is just compound+polish in one, no protection. We don’t have any comparative data in terms of relative cut between the two, so that may be different. We just haven’t tested it.

      @RUPES  Před 4 lety +1

      Check out the webinar linked in the description - it goes over the nitty gritty details of the product including how to use it and maximize performance. As far as the fear of wool - it is common, but it's tied to the fact so many people associate wool with the old school twisted wool pads commonly used on a rotary. The DA wool pads are a completely different animal (still sheep LOL) in that its far less aggressive and safe for anyone of any skill level to use. From a technical standpoint it is actually less aggressive than a microfiber pad! Give the yellow wool a try and we're confident you'll love the results!

      No change to the formula, just a tweak to the appearance that doesn’t impact performance. Check out this video for more info:

    What do you guys think about using Uno Protect with something like the Uro-fiber 50/50 pad?
    I'm considering this as an option because I can easily vary the cut but varying my working speed and nothing else.

      @@RUPES thanks for the prompt reply guys. Very much appreciated.
      Must admit I have never worked with wool pads before. I've always stuck to microfibre or foam until now.
      Be interesting to see what they are like. Do they generate much more in the way of heat?

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 3 lety

      The opposite actually! Our wool pads have some very distinct advantages over microfiber including they run significantly cooler and do not load as badly with residues (and residue load diminishes results). • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 3 lety

      Thanks or posting your question. UNO Protect is not recommended before any ceramic coating product, as it is a different family of protection and can interfere with the coatings ability to bond with the surface. Some people do like to top UNO Protect with an additional layer of something like a spray sealant, but it is not required.

    Can you explain the difference with uno prime and uno pure?

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 4 lety +2

      Sure -
      Protect, as described in the video, is an all-in-one polish and protectant. It deposits a sealant as it corrects.
      Pure is an ultrafine finishing polish that leaves nothing behind. It is a product for producing show car level shine, or finishing very soft paints. Because it does not leave anything behind it is great for pre-coating polishing.

      @RUPES  Před 4 lety

      Yes, however you should make adjustments to technique. Work in smaller sections, do everything you can to manage heat, and remove the product from the surface sooner than the recommended 20 minutes. Working in direct sun is never ideal, but with adjustments you can do it. We are planning a video on this subject soon. Stay tuned!

    Can you use the yellow wool on a black car

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 2 lety

      The color of the car really has very little to do with the choice of products, especially because all these processes are done on the top layer, which is clear coat not base coat.

      @@RUPES in your experience will the yellow wool finish alright on darker colors or swirl?

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 2 lety

      A swirl mark is the result of tool movement (rotary), not pad material. So, no. We have not ever observed a swirl mark when using our DA wool pads on dark colors with dual-action tools.
      Can it micromar? Possibly. It has a lower risk of micromarring on dark colors than microfiber pads, and depending on paint hardness is perfectly capable of being a one step pad.

    • @RUPES
      @RUPES  Před 3 lety

      There are future videos on this topic b/c that question comes up not just about UNO Protect, but all our compounds. The short answer is - ANY compound can be used in direct sunlight, but the intensity, ambient temperature, and other factors will determine what adjustments you need to make to compensate for it. For the mostpart, working in smaller sections, shortening cycle time, increasing slightly the amount of product used, and wiping off immediately are all adjustments that need to be made for a direct sun application.
