Moose shed their antlers when the rut is over and their testosterone levels dip. This along with other hormones causes the base of the antler to losen up and fall off eventually. There very simplified answer to the question you asked but didnt even bother to answer
Cap it’s not after the rut
It IS after the rut, but not RIGHT after, it’s usually in late winter through spring. That’s why most shed hunting is done through Feb - April. With March being the favorite due to the weather changes.
Do they grow again?
@@cathieh.7225Yep! Every year, if I’m not mistaken.
That’s explaining how the shedding happens. It doesn’t explain the functional reason for them to be shed each year.
I like the part where they explained why they shed their antlers
😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Yup. They never explained.
You babbled & did not answer your own question

That link is about apes lol
its possible the video was cut short since - it gets shed to preserve/store energy in winter (after the breeding season is over, they don't need to worry about upkeep lol)
This was very interesting thankyou.😊
Very handsome Moose!! 😍😚😙

I’m not trying to be rude but what type of language is this? 🤣
@@CajunMFN It's directly taken from the opening credits during Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975). It's silly phonetic spelling of English.
@@myfrestuff3453 ok gotcha bro.
