Was wondering who you were, but now I see! You cut your hair so didn't recognize you anymore. Just kidding! I notice that your reMarkable 2 works stably compared to my reMarkable 2. I draw very gently on the surface. Then the nib will wear less hard. I see you pushing it a little harder. What you can do is make a design on your notebook. And then save it as a PDF file. You can use the PDF as the first layer and trace your design on a new layer. You can copy the layer to a new file and use that to combine other sketches. duh me. i just figured it out...you have to send from 'My Files' view to send all pages in same email. Thanks for the video that helped me understand layers though!

Is there a way to connect pages? at work i take notes in a notebook and when i reach the bottom of first page I swipe to create a new page, but later when i convert to text and email my notes, the pages are not connected; I have to send each page separately...thanks for any guidance!
Yes you Can, this the main menu press the document that contains all the pages for a couple of seconds and you will be able to send the entire document instead just pages.
Thanks for the info. I notice they only have maximum 5 layers?? I'm not sure how practical that is, what are your thoughts..I tried Remarkeable 2 for the first time to draw and I didn't have enough layers so it's not useful for drawing which was my primary purpose
I don't need more than five layers-usually two will suffice for writing notes. In terms of drawing, maybe there's a different brand of tablet that's focused on artists. The rM is always being updated, so maybe one day they'll have more.

That's a good question. My understanding is that the pdf is the base file and layers can be put on top of it. I'm not sure how you could use a pdf as a second layer. That would be a good question for the rM team.
Yes, I use the rM extension in Chrome and send documents by clicking that button. The document should pop up on the main home page then you can write over it.
@@Monsty I want to have 3 layers, created in google draw and exported as pdf. There are for garden plots. Layer 1 would be original condition showing trees and rocks. Layer 2 would be February planting. Layer 3 would be May planting. That is my hope. But I don't know how to import a pdf as a layer or into another pdf.
@@wkimzey I don't have experience with Google Draw, but I just tried it out and it doesn't seem like it has the best rM Chrome compatibilities. I would recommend using a ruler to draw out plots, then adding layers on top of that. You can also utilize the lasso tool to copy/ size the same item to keep them uniform. e.g. trees, rocks, planters. I hope your garden plot comes out great! That gives me some good ideas for my own rM use.
Okay, but are layers for anything other than aesthetic purposes? I'm not sure what the point of layers is. I've only had my rm2 for about a day and I'm learning as I go.
I mostly use them on templates I have created. I don't want to have to replicate the same template over and over, so I use a second layer to write overtop and erase.
Question: How do I create a document with different templates, for example, page 1 is blank template, page 2 lined template, page 3 a different template, etc. ? Thank you.
For my Quick Sheets, I have almost every page as a different template. You could create a Notebook and while you're on the first page, select template (bottom left layer icon), select Template, then change it to whichever you'd like. Swipe for page two then change it the same way.
@@Monsty : Quick Sheets and Notebook are confusing to discern the difference. I just realized that Quick sheets is always on the main page, supposedly for quick access. This feature is stupid as text already is displayed. None to have text as well as icon on main page.
Hi Monsty (Angel ) :) The problem has been solved for me in the latest beta update. Now the reMarkable 2 works as it should. Because I just couldn't get to the main menu because every time it automatically jumped to other pages. How is the Japanese course and Morse code?
Same here. Thanks for posting. I'm within my first 30 days and was thinking of returning it. Then came the update and I think my glitch is solved. Thanks for reinforcing that. I'm so new!
@@connkenn That's good news that it helped for you too! The reMarkable 2 now works very well, no problems like before. They have some news for the new customers a subscription for options that was already integrated in the reMarkable. But luckily for previous customers, all of the features that come with the device remain free. I am very curious how the developments will go.
Hi thank you for the illustration..i want to say that there are too much ugly restrictions in this company..why i have to send my work to the cloud why not save it to my computer or usb drive?
It's difficult to fully understand what you mean by popping up when I can't see an example. However, I would suggest clicking the "eye" on the left hand side of Layer 2 to hide the layer. I've never had something pop up while using my reMarkable.
Yikes, 2y ago, guess they never fixed this! Indeed I cannot edit layers.. It always draws to the last created, unhiding all and ignoring order as soon as I draw, still in 2024. Edit: Aha! For the next person confused... It draws on the selected layer, not the top one. Doh. They pulled off skeumorphism too well 😅 Thank you for a great video.

So, I'd like to see you succeed on YT. You've got what it takes -- other than just time and number of videos. That's all. But, stuff like this is learned & overcome in early videos, so it just takes a while to learn your own Formula.

If you're in a business setting, you could use Layers for revenues or pipeline plotted. You can overlay them by year to see progress.

I'm not sure if you could use the cord to connect directly to your computer. Though, you could just use the rM without connecting to WiFi.

Yes, layers work on pdfs. You can write notes directly on the pdf or in the layers.

Is it possible to copy and paste from one layer to another?
Confirm you're on the layer you want to copy from, then use the lasso tool to copy. Move to the layer you want to paste on, then paste.
