      I own two, a stock pink one as shown here and the newer white one that I've swapped EMGs into to sort of emulate the newer Charvel setups that Marco Sfogli uses. If anybody has been considering one and is on the fence, just go for it and you won't regret it. Easily one of my favorite guitars for the money, next to the Ibanez genesis series (also highly recommended for people looking for a top notch Japanese-made guitar without paying the Prestige prices).

    I have a Charvel DK24 HH (I also have a Strat and a Sire), I've owned lots of guitars over the years but nothing makes me just want to play like the Charvel does! The back of the guitar is a work of art, the neck is a joy to play, it almost feels like it's alive when I'm playing it, it makes you want to play harder, faster, turn the amp up louder, grit your teeth and just go with it! I've had guitars that cost three times as much but they weren't half as good, enough said 🙂🤘. (make sure you turn the tone knob off ten though, I have mine at nine, it makes a world of difference).

    • @jhumbrac
      @jhumbrac Před 2 lety

      I can vouch for the dk24 hh too. The guitar is so dang playable. I didn't like the pickups it came with (i'm not a modern metal guy), so I swapped in some SD Saturday Night Specials. I'm probably going to pick up an hss version because I already know how much I get along with the neck. Also agree with the tone knob. It's just too much when fully bypassed, so I also keep mine at 9

    I've had the Charvel since last year, and it's been an excellent gigging machine. Very versatile, and the middle position has been surprisingly useful for a more twangy, almost Gretsch-like sound. Due to their fairly high output, the single coils have a somewhat compressed sound, which works well in a busy band context. The tuning stability is close to Floyd Rose level, even when I really hammer it.

      @@sh3zad690 My Charvel is completely stock. All I do is, when changing strings, add a little dab of Big Bends Nut Sauce to every point of friction along each string - where the ball end lodges at the back of the trem block, where the string emerges on the other side, where it crosses the saddle, in the nut slot, and finally under the string trees. I do that on all my non-locking trem guitars, and I can get even a vintage Strat trem to be pretty stable. To be honest, I'm surprised people are having tuning problems seeing as this guitar has a Gotoh 510 bridge and locking tuners. Short of a Floyd, that's as stable as you're going to get.

    I bought the Schecter NJ Diamond Series in SSS/Atomic Green. The neck is slim but for some reason it feels so great at the same time. It's pleasing to the hand despite the slim profile- I dunno how they do it. This is important because it has a vintage type tone that blooms so it makes the player want to hang onto a note with some vibrato. Also the frets come almost perfect out of the box. They're well shaped and pretty smooth. It makes for easy and enjoyable bends and vibrato.The combination of those frets and the flat ebony board make playing it as easy as a Les Paul. The neck pickup especially is the star of the tonal show- so much depth to it. They seem to run about 8lbs so be prepared for that.

      @CarlyonProduction Před 2 lety

      Interesting, I have seen some people complain about the flat radius. I am a Gibson player, so am wondering how I might get on with one of these. I worry about the thin neck making the tone weaker...but it does sound great in this video.
      Other than that, it looks like my ideal Strat. Would probably get the SSS version.
