@@ecgkid I have just come to the realisation that I may have Vasovagal Syncope, and before and after the fainting, there is this ringing in the ear. To me I describe it to people as a sound of gas escaping from a pipe in the distance. It gets louder as I am about to black out. Definitely not tinnitus as this is not a constant thing and is a recurring symptom in relation to the fainting.

Then comes the hearing people/things (people calling your name in panic usually) but losing conscious connection to anything as the vision also begins to become more 'patchy/fuzzy' and faded until blackout. Then waking up confused and attempting to speak, but saying part words extremely slurred words with no connection to anything. Almost like 'bleh.. bla, bleh...'. I think our conscious minds return to normal before our bodies do as I remember, last time, that when I came too, I had clear intention of positioning my legs in a way that keeps them upright, but it was hard to keep the legs upright and couldn't even explain what I was trying to do lol. It's a helpful tip that the hospital said to do. It keeps the blood flowing from the legs to the brain more efficiently than by just lying on the floor waiting to recover. I've noticed it really does speed up the process of short term recovery!). Btw if laying on the floor, you would have to slide your legs in a way that your feet are touching the ground still (it's hard to explain). Almost like you are about to do a press-up. Hope it helps anyone who reads it!
Before it happens to me my ears ring loud. And I know to lie down and put my feet up. It saves me from passing out. Last time I cut my finger bad I had to do that
It started with me at the age of 16 with a blood test and now it's still happening at the age of 24 from both blood tests and vaccinations and I'm not afraid of needles, maybe it's the thought of something like that getting inside me that scares me.
Cut my finger at work the other day and it started bleeding really bad. I was washing it off with my manager and I was looking away from the blood. But it still wasn't enough as I could only think about the blood gushing out from my finger tip/nail. I passed out for a minute and hit my head. They called the paramedics to make sure I was alright; embarrassing to say the least.
After insertion of a stent in my 100% blocked LAD vein (3 hrs operation), I have had about 5 bask-vagel fainting spells in 9 years. My blood pressure for a few years after the operation was mostly low. All fainting spells occurred when discussing medical issues with a doctor, particularly when a replica plastic heart was on the desk of the doctor. Recently, I was watching a CZcams interview where two people were discussing an operation to reconstruct a shoulder with all the gory details.
I hit my knee recently (full force right above the middleof my knee cap) on a metal corner piece while climbing onto a backhoe. After about 15 seconds, i felt light-headed and dizzy, then fell onto the ground but didn't fully black out. This seems to be the only explanation i can find, even though my whole life, randomly hitting/bumping into things I've never experienced fainting before.
The thing is I get dizziness when I see myself hurt or bleeding but not others. I wonder why? Becoz when my brother was in a accident, I saw his wound, I didn't get dizzy but just yesterday I was changing my wound and it started bleeding and I got dizzy suddenly.
I think it's because of parasympathetic response to emotional distress .. it's like fight and flight response.. u see wound and u get distressed and pns act quickly to reduce blood pressure and heart rate so

can someone give me an opinion on this? this happened to me for the first time yesterday.. and it had never happened to me before that. for context this was a fasting blood test and it was at 10:15am, i’m 16, and i’ve never been scared of blood or needles. i went to a blood test appointment with my twin sister ( a dual appointment) she got her blood drawn first and it went fine. she stood up and leaned against the wall, while i sat down to take my turn. the nurse was getting ready (preparing the script and just preparing for the blood test) when suddenly my sister fainted while standing up. all of us were asking her if she was okay and were obviously caught of guard and really worried because this had never happened to her before. since nobody actually SAW what exactly she fell on, they decided to call 911 so she could be taken to the er and checked out (i guess it was just protocol or something and they didn’t want to be liable in case she actually hit her head) the paramedics got there, and they were basically preparing to put her on the stretcher. the nurse then asked if i was still okay with having my blood drawn since at this point i still hadn’t. i said yes because i didn’t wanna inconvenience my mom and have to come another time, and i just wanted to get it over with. she started taking my blood and was able to finish with no issues. but right after she finished i started having this intense nausea all of a sudden. i told the nurse and she brought me something i could use in case i had to throw up. next thing i knew i started feeling cold and my eyes were starting to close. i woke up and i wasn’t confused because i knew i had fainted, and my nausea was completely gone as soon as i woke up! i’m thankful i was still in the chair, so i didn’t have to go to the er in the ambulance. but it was a really stressful situation. i just don’t know if in my case it was the blood test that made me faint (even though i had no fear towards it) or if it was the situation with my sister that made me faint. i don’t know if i should expect to faint in future blood tests. 😭 SORRY FOR IT BEING SO LONG
No problem.. I am happy to help you. Anyways in your case I don't think blood test is problem... It's possibly emotional stress that led to syncope. But you can get over with it pretty easily. You know how. Watch 5 mins of extremely emotional scenes from tv shows, movies, even social media and try to get involved in it. By this you can adapt to emotional stress and next time it wouldn't be a big shock to your adrenergic system whenever you will be in that situation. I hope this helps. But remember only 5 mins... I have a history and now I am in my early 50s. It doesn't go away. It's not really your fault neither. Nor is it a health issue. It's more of a fear issue. I always pre-warn the nurse. Lying down, I still get it based on a combination of any of these: fasting, blood pressure changes, something that you are naturally afraid of. So, if I know I am in 2-3 of those combinations I know there is a chance. Taking a blood test that requires fasting. That is high risk for me. Muscle biopsy where they cut a tiny piece of my muscle, that did it. Eye test where they "ping" your eye creating a vibration inside your head, that did it. One time I fainted when the eye doctor tried contacts on me for the first time and I hadn't eat anything the entire day. That did it.
@@xungngo Wow I'm sorry that you regularly experience this :( I didn't think it was a fear thing because I've never been scared of needles or blood, even when I was as young as 5. But maybe the circumstances, mixed with the fasting and pressure of the thing they tie on your arm could have affected me. I'll definitely make sure to warn the nurse next time I get a blood test, but do you think it's likely to happen again to me?

Thank you for sharing. I think your vertigo root is from ears .. so I suggest you see and ENT specialist and get your ears checked.. it will certainly help with ur issues ... Wish u luck
I’ve had 5 episodes in less then the last 2 years, Im only 18 1/2 years old and all of my episodes came from a lot of stress, these are full fainting episodes. Should i be worried ? if so what type of doctor should i see

hey, thanks for sharing. The yellowish vision and ear ringing might be from a drop in blood pressure or a vasovagal response, where your body reacts to the needle by lowering your heart rate and BP. This can mess with blood flow to your eyes and ears, causing those symptoms. Stress from the test can also spike adrenaline, leading to ringing in your ears.

it happen to me after my 14th blood donation. i usually never had a problem from the past donation...but during my 14th,the nurse who inserted the needles didnt properly do the job since my veins are hard to find,causing blood flow out to the skin. after the pressure were off from my hand,the pain from the needle prick and saw the blood pass by.....just had me dizzy.i dont close my eyes as usually do,causing me hard to cops with the symptoms. i suddenly vomits,feeling of diarhea,turning blue,my body were cold and the blood pressure had me to 88😂.luckily i am sit and the nurse lay me down directly,ask me to drink something sweets from the lychee juice.doctors were panicked and insert me another iv drips to increase my heart rate. it was the most terrible vasovagal reaction i ever had in my life.usually it just feeling of faint and a cups of glucose drink help me recover in seconds.
same here, poke poke poke and I started blacking out. "Nurse I am feeling woozy nurse". I always have vaso-vagal so I pre-warned the nurse and was already lying down for my blood test. In time past I didn't know and fell couple times busting my head open.
Best you can do to avoid unconsciousness is to drink anything sweet, it happens to me when i see blood (human blood only) and i instantly drink anything sweet like juice, you do have time before you go unconscious to drink few sips of juice and suddenly whole body goes to normal.
Nothing compared too throwing up blood & blacking out bc that’s exactly what happened too me when I got my gall bladder taken out I thought I was gonna die!
I have no idea what triggered my fainting. It happened just once. But it was after I went to cr to pee. It was 2am in the morning. I was taking care of my mom that time because she was sick. That night I became too hungry at 11pm so I decided to wake up to eat some ramen then went back to bed and woke up at 2am to pee. I had a fast heart beat and then all of the sudden I was on the floor. Then the next thing I knew I was already being held by my brother and he was trying to wake me up Then I went to my room and he applied ice on my forehead because I had a large bump. I went for a lab test days after it. All went normal. So until now I have no idea. What had happened to me
About 10yrs ago I started to faint everytime I throw up. The symptoms are really the same you said: my heart starts racing and I feel very dizzy. It happened a 5x, 6x on these 10yrs so I already put myself on a position that I wont hit my head when I start feeling that way. I am no doctor but could it be your digestion who stopped since you went straight to bed after eating and that could have triggered your syncope. Have a check with your doctor.
I went through something similar back in 2021. I was waiting in line for a show and I started to feel hungry. A moment later I blacked out and was on the floor. My brother and everyone around were worried. I went to the doctor's a few days later and they said I was fine. I thought it was very strange.
@@nokturnna83 Same happens with me. It happened two times with me. I woke up in the middle of sleep, my stomach felt weired and I felt like throwing up then went fainted for some seconds. Now I always feel panic and anxious whenever my stomach does weired things.

It happens to me everytime after passing the bowels. I don't faint but I feel like head is whirling. Can I take any steps?

Hi there, is autonomic syncope another name for vasovagal syncope? I cannot find any traces of autonomic syncope online for the life of me.
Yes now I know I have it because I faint or get light headed every time I see a huge open wound or blood in general
Instantly drink anything sweet and it goes away or eat anything sweet if you can, it happens to me too.

I get Vasovagal attacks and hate them! I've been tested by my doctor in the past.
Have they given u medacine or a cure
