Just put 50% down today at my local Rotel dealer for the P5 and S5. Going to buy a new pair of Maggie 3.7i's to replace my 20 year plus 1.6's. Thanks for the review.

Nice review. Those are beautiful pieces. I've been a happy Rotel owner for 15 years and would love to own some Michi's. 2:32 I am a bit disconcerted that they are made in China. As a Japanese company it seems like the least they could do is build their flagship brand in Japan, especially for the premium price they are charging.
Yes my thoughts also but in saying that I looked at the top Luxman 509 and Accuphase too anything made in Japan will be more expensive again So my thoughts are it was made off shore to make it affordable and yet have high quality parts and finish..At the end of the day
The old saying you get what you pay for.
They should have been made in Japan. If it's made in China that's a shame

I've been running a Michi RHB-10 amp for many years. Beautiful sounding and bulletproof. After watching this (and other reviews) I think its time to dust the wallet off.

Carlton Audio (Melbourne). It's up around a 100 plus hours now, even more amazing. I run them with ATC40 and 2x svs sb2000 pro.

I have the Michi X5 mated to a pair of Fyne Audio 502SP speakers, this is and excellent match! I sold my Modwright KWI 200 and it was a excellent amp as well, but the X5 is in another league!
Got the Michi S5 with F502SP speakers ... really nice combo. Added two Rel's S/510 subs with high-level connected ... now it's complete 👍

Only Stereo… but VERY stylish and cool! Comes close to the NAD M17 and I hope there will be a pre-Amp/Amplifier for home cinema too!! 👍🏼

The Michi X5 integrated has a very smooth treble also it seems to be the house sound .

Shane, so since you showed quite a bit of the Dynaudio Heritage specials in this video, I am curious how did that pairing sound vs the Marantz model 30 you used when you reviewed the speakers?
This is far more dynamic.
I would really like to know how the Michi set sounds with the Heritage Specials, are they compatible.

Hello, I have the denon avc-a110 , now for the front the anthem 325 , do you think if I replace the anthem for the Michi s5 , I will improve a lot? surround I have 707 s2 and front 702 s2 !
The Michi separates make for a dynamic combination with the Focal Kanta 3 speakers. A $30,000 system that looks hard to beat dollar for dollar.
How would the preamp fare on an Arcam 240 poweramp and monitor audio gx200 gold i wonder :-)
Currently a marantz av8003 preamp, which sounds good, but it is getting old lol.
They should have made the display wider on the amp so things could be side by side instead of stacked.
Im a ruff beginner, I've in love with hi fidelity since the 70's.. but never had the resources/time to buy or learn much about it.. I 'm looking to build my second system around B&W 704 S3.. and the Michi caught my eye.. I think I'm going to do the integrated amp first .. so Michi I think will be my choice?

Shane you mentioned using the Rotel 1590. Do you feel this is worth the upgrade( $) in sound?
I just bought KEF R11s .. Now using an older Denon 4308 that on the bench was rated @ 200 wpc x2 @ .01 thd and am thinking of the michi, I know it's a lot of amp for the speakers but it would be my endgame amp
I could save a lot of money with the 1590 though..

Hello, I also have the Michi combination, the S5 runs perfectly on an Aurum Titan 8, the weak point is the P5, which noises audibly!
What were your impressions in this regard?
Here in Germany, the Michi failed the buyer after a steep flight, also by the trade press, and are partially screwed up.
Hello, how loud is your P5? I confirm that mine has a slight hiss in the loudspeakers (I have the P5 and S5), but it is only audible from a few centimeters.

Currently I have two amps - Esoteric F-07 and Gato Audio AMP-150AE; it's hard to decide which one should stay with me. I found combination Michi P5+S5 as not fit to my speakers. It is best for Bowers speakers (person who bought them from me has B&W 802 D3 now and is very happy).

Bizarrely, I own B&W 802D2s myself (yes, really!) so that's interesting to hear that there's good synergy between the two brands.

Question for you: how were you using Roon with the Michi? I didn't think they were Roon Ready...???
It isn't, because there is no streamer, however P5 can decode MQA.

Kinda like the Michi but the Mac is iconic.
I have the mcintosh mc257 and auditioned the Michi before pulling the trigger to possibly run with my other Rotel gear, michi is nice but no comparison to the mcintosh also running the Mac with the mcd 600 CD player so that may be unfair

Can I safely stack my Michi P5 on top of my S5? And is it true that single-ended cables are better than balanced for these Michi products?
Yes I have them stacked and it doesn't matter which cables you use. The amp does not have a fully balanced architecture.

why the michi power amp has FAN!!?? the vibration thing is the real issue.
Really like the aesthetics, but they are very expensive.

Don't worry about the Michi amp's made in China nearly all the ultimate high amps components are sourced from China , as longas it looks good and sounds good that's all that matters 💯 and got the premium looks better than your Ugly neighbour you can't go wrong I'm an owner of a Michi X5 I've had 5 Bryston 14bsst Marantz P10 and other Amps too many to mention and out of the amps I've had and Audition the Michi X5 for me night and day and by the way it's better looking than me 😅😅
I have an S5 and it weighs 60 kilos (130 lbs). If he can lift one in a flight case with 1 arm , he should be in a circus.
I’m not all about specs but this thing has disappointing power output. This thing should be able to drive 2ohm loads with ease yet they advise against it. For that price that seems off. My amp is nowhere near that nice or powerful but I can drive 1ohm loads. Also my amp costs under 2000 new.

the company had a chance to call it Micho but called it Michi instead. 🤦♂️ by the way only some will know the Micho Joke 😂

absolutely..... might me biased by the digital outputs of the preamp. Im planning to mix the S5 with a T+A DAC 200.
Drop these bad speaker cables AQ.. those are very bad cables, cant even take this Review serious bec of that

The AQ cables were also not ok for me, I exchanged a lot of AQ cables for both QED and Albedo cables. Both are neutral and more spatial. But it is also a matter of taste.
