    Hi Chris, as you are using Playground AI, what reasons are you using this particular AI? Is it the best in your opinion, is it particularly good at what you need to produce? Just wondering as I'm not as familiar with these art apps and there are quite a few these days, thanks buddy....

    I mean... Realistically, if AI didn't exist, would you even hire an artist to draw your thumbnail backgrounds? A bank of stock photos would probably make much more sense for you since you're not afraid to crack off GIMP and work in it yourself.

    This is unrelated, but I've hit a really wierd problem in GIMP.
    Normally when you do a simple copy/paste with the selection tool (just select > ctrl+z > ctrl+z) the tool auto switches to the move tool. Then you drag your copy around and anchor it wherever.
    My Gimp has gone wierd and is no longer uto switching to the move tool. Instead I have to hit M, then move the selection, anchor it and manually switch back to the selection tool. It's really annoying!! It's only happening in one project, but it's a big project that I can't easily get out of. Any idea what's going on???

    Lots of animators are losing their jobs because the companies are using AI. Thats not the artist's doing or fault and saying "they need to level up" is BS.

      People should always level up, if you stop wanting to level up then you’re either a marxist, or you have no self respect and should be fired. Running a company costs money, you need to be making me money, saving me money, managing the people who are completing those tasks.
      If not, well then, you can only be wasting my money, it is not a companies job to provide padded jobs for all the lazy, mediocre, or uneducated people of this world. Advocating for mediocrity only promotes mediocrity. You don’t want to loose you job to AI, start using AI to do your job better or faster. Show innovation and initiative.
      The endless pandering of this current generation would be infuriating if it weren’t so ironically hilarious. Stop complaining, accept that you may suck right now, that it is your fault, build a damn bridge and get the fuck over it. Once on the other side of accountability, you can repurpose that negative energy into how you can learn to be better.
      Discomfort is the key to success, comfort is the preamble of death.

    Uff you have skills in GIMP, I have use it but for me is not intuitive or simple, nor the menus. Similar with Krita plus is buggy. I prefer so much Affinity Photo or Designer not Adobe.

    AI is not great at all, but it has nothing to do with quality. If the artists eere doing a bad job you wouldnt say AI isnt great. The artists have set the bar and AI isnt meeting it. But why is AI replacing them then? Because it's the new hot thing and CEOs drool at the concept of a program being able to replace dozens of paid professionals. They want that to be a reality so bad that they get blinded by the difference in results.
    It's like when xompanies were jumping on crypto. Or NFTs. Now it's AI. At least this time the tech will have some applicability in some places, unlike the former 2. But AI is being misused so who knows what'll happen

    Shit take. Artists being replaced by AI is not a "skill issue". Art is something done for the beauty enjoyment of it while AI is for menial tasks. This is the core difference between the industrialization era and the era of AI. Industrialization automated simple but often dangerous tasks whereas AI is automating things that should be a form of self expression and enjoyment while being shit at doing the menial tasks like writing a function without worrying about it doing some little weird thing that it shouldn't be doing or something it missed.

    • @joaopedroleite8998
      @joaopedroleite8998 Před 4 měsíci +4

      Art is a form of self-expression and enjoyment. A CZcams video thumbnail doesn't need to be art, and when it isn't making it becomes a menial task, then AI is a valid tool to do so. And that can be applied to dozens of other things. What AI can produce will never be art, but can easily do a bunch of basic - not so great - drawings that need to be done for commercial purpose, which are a menial task.

      @@dreaper5813 Hand drawn corporate art is also soulless. And if the argument is creativity, and AI art is all "bland and same looking", then where's the issue?

  • @Derpingtonshere
    @Derpingtonshere Před 4 měsíci +2

    I honestly don't see why they are so butthurt about it. They too can use it as a tool to help them, cut their workflow down a bit. But like you said, if AI can generate better art than you, maybe it is time to look for a different hobby or get better at it.

  • @kmjgsdkmjgsd
    @kmjgsdkmjgsd Před 4 měsíci +2

    The most disappointing part about the battle against AI art generation is that people whine about how “robots NEED to do the hard jobs! humans ONLY do the fun jobs!”
    In case you missed all of Tesla’s self-driving car failures, we cannot just make AI immediately complete certain tasks because its “what they deserve”. Doctors, pilots, chefs, soldiers, CEOs(honestly disappointed they believe we can automate them), and a thousand other jobs have economy and government-level consequences when we let an AI do it. Real people will die, real property gets destroyed, and it will literally contribute to the EOTWAWKI.
    The only consequences AI art produces meanwhile, are about “not letting a fraction of all arts become unemployed”. What BS.

    • @GR3YS0RG4N1CS
      @GR3YS0RG4N1CS Před 4 měsíci

      Braindead take. Who's talking about automating soldiers, doctors, chefs, and CEOs?
      First of all, yes CEOs CAN be replaced by DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED officials, referendums, and modernized versions of systems like Cybersyn.
      Second, nobody against AI art is advocating for AI to take over our military, airspace, and medical practices. That's some dystopic Terminator shit.
      The reality of the situation is, what you're concerned about is exactly what your side is doing. Proponents of AI art are the same ones who are proponents of AI police dogs and shit. You may not be personally but the majority of your type are the ones you're complaing about.
