Solo Bushcraft Vintage Camping - Heavy Rain - Sleeping on Sheepskin with Wool Blanket - Canvas Lavvu

  • Bushcraft hike and camp for three days. Made a monster saw way to big..just because! I just love saws so please bear with me lol. As always the Canvas lavvu untreated without wax or any chemicals performed outstanding. When will people learn YOU DONT HAVE TO TREAT CANVAS? When a lavvu is wet its very heavy yes. But because it never gets soaked it dries up in a couple of hours! Small lightweight sheep skin worked to sleep on. I dont know the weight but you would be surprised how light it is. It fitted from head to hip and some ways down my hip. That was enough because my legs was wrapped in the wool blanket. Reindeer skins are better but in my opinion way to heavy without sled or canoe. Also crafted some gifts to what have to be my youngest fans. Enjoy!

Swedwoods, I was re-oiling the forks that you so kindly made for my daughters and thought that I would send you a message to say 'thank you' again. Both my daughters are still loving the outdoors and we are blessed to have a bit of land where we can cook outdoors - Heidi and I are building an outdoor kitchen. Both Heidi and Pollyanna love watching you on CZcams and from my own personal perspective thank you for what you produce. Please keep it coming and help to bring the outdoors, Sweden and good cooking into our lives.

Dear Swedwoods, I have 2 very happy and excited young girls who will be very grateful for the forks. Heidi could not believe it when she saw her name appear on the TV. Both myself and my wife were so touched with your extremely kind act and thought. A simple message to our girls would had been enough, but we were amazed at the forks - completely unexpected. I am not sure how to contact you privately, but if you let me know I will send you our address. All this aside another amazing video and high quality content. You have made my family’s day and two little girls have gone to bed very happy.

Thanks also for the respect you show viewers by not doing the talking heads self promotion in your videos unlike so many others who are want to be celebrities. Unfortunately as a wheelchair user in his seventies I don't go camping in the bush like I used to BUT I was never the class of woodsman you are. its mostly impractical, pretty much. nice he cut some wood to make a saw, but he didn't make the blade (today the store makes it easier even though i like this stuff and trying at home, just smelling fire and being in nature). . ect ect. just not reality today. get a nice knife, decent axe/hatchet and a hand saw ur good to go to start doing/learning this in your own back yard, its fun. but i like the editing. peaceful video. doing that regardless is hard work and takes hours, wears you out just cutting the wood alone like that. be prepared for real work doing this stuff, it aint no 45 min job, its hours. bring bug spray lol an axe and knife can go a long way starting out, just know its practice and actual work. he makes it look simple, but i know from experience he's working. gj. starting a fire alone w/o any fluid takes a lot of practice. EDIT: its worth it though. being outside/nature is the best part imo :) a fire really helps that too. gl watch some tutorial channels and start doing it yourself! cheap tents, lighter fluid and fold up chairs also exist so dont think you cant camp if you dont do it like that. lol k

I thought for a split second I was going to enjoy one of your videos and not learn something new ! Nope ! Double forks to lower the pot.. never seen that before. and the string toggle ? nice! Always a learning experience even at my ripe old age.. Thanks for sharing ! BTW kudos on the forks for the young viewers. classy !

Så fina gafflar du gjorde! Barnen lär ha blivit så glada över att få dom. Ännu en rofylld film, tack för den.

I completely understand the saw obsession. I try bigger, smaller. Experiment with different tensioning techniques. It’s just fun. The one in this video is pretty big!
Thank you for thinking of your youngest fans. Hopefully they will grow to appreciate nature, as you clearly do.
As always, be well and take good care from here in the Allegheny National Forest in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

And this is what camping truly is. Its why I go alone or with my brother. I cant stand dragging 150 pounds of luxury into the woods because a couple people cant handle unplugging for a few days.
