    PATER NOSTER, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

    I love this ~ thank you! Is there any way that after breaking down, it could be repeated in it’s entirety so as to follow along? This would be very helpful. Thank you again!

    Thank you for this. My wife and I are praying the Rosary in Latin and are learning it one prayer at a time. We have the Pater Noster down as well as the Ave Maria and Gloria. We’re now working on the Fatima Prayer. Can you pls do a video on that one? There are so many different iterations in Latin, it’s kind of confusing. Thank you!

    I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but this pronunciation (Sorry if I spelled that wrong, nobody taught me how to spell it) is wrong. G in Latin is to be heard, V makes the "wh" sound and C makes the "k" sound.

    I was taught that the letter "V" is always pronounced as a /w/; "C" is always a hard /k/; and the diphthong "AE" is pronounced /ai/. Granted, I learned Classical Latin, not Vulgate, so what the hell do I know.

    La pronunciación del latín es igual que la pronunciación del italiano, verdad?

    • @noelopez5200
      @noelopez5200 Před 7 lety +26

      Este es latin eclesiastico, muy simila, pero tiene algunas reglas de pronunciación en diptongos. Por ejemplo ae, oe se emiten en un solo sonido y se pronuncian e: maríae=maríe, moestus=mestus, caelis=celis. La consonante h tiene el sonido de la k en el dativo mihi=miki, y en el adverbio nihil=nikil con sus compuestos
      nihilóminus=nikilóminus. En los demás casos la h es muda.suena. La J (inexistente en lo que conocemos como italiano suenta como y). La t suena como z del italiano por ejemplo étiam=étsiam, grátias=grátsias. Ph suena como f. La X delante vocal suena como cs. La XC suena como kch excélsis=ekchélsis, excípias=ekchípias.
