  • The new Mach E GT Performance Pkg is here from Ford to take on Tesla, Lucid, Hyundai, Kia and the rest of the competition. On the outside you will find unique bodywork, 20in wheels, and massive Brembo brakes. On the inside there are performance seats, a 15.5in infotainment system, and plenty of room. Powering the Mach-E GT Performance are (2) electric motors pumping out 480HP. Is the 2022 Ford Mach-E GT Performance the KING of EVs for the PRICE?

I don't know, for 70k the Mach-E GT feels like it's lacking a ton of features. And before anyone says anything I love the thought of an EV, but even Hyundai offers a ton of features in their EV for less than 70k.

Yeah except that their EV isn't even 1/10th as fun to drive, I would take this over ANY hyundai, even the base model mach. I guess I'm the only person that doesn't care all that much about useless luxury features and can live with just a normal interior as long as it's a more enjoyable vehicle.

The screen seems really laggy when swiping through stuff which is another reason why there should be physical controls especially while driving. Stationary, these overly large screens are fine but driving, they are just a clutter of distraction. No sunroof at that price is also a zonk. I get it's supposed to be the "GT" and lower center of gravity is important for handling, but at the end of the day, it's still an SUV.

Forget it. I got the LR AWD, absolute shitshow from Ford. The car itself in terms of driving experience is a 9/10 when using regen braking - however as soon as you have to hit the break, the comfort levels drop to about a 4/10. Horrible brakes that fire you out of your seat. It also does not have an app where you can pre-heat the car with the touch of a button. Instead you have to set the time you want your car heated for, then whether you want it cold, medium or warm. Coming from a MS 2019, this has been incredibly disappointing.

I bought a Mach e gt performance last year. I was very excited to have finally a performance electric car that looks good and better than a Tesla. I was not bother from the fact they called Mustang becouse anyway style wise remember a mustang!
I liked the handling and the magneride suspension, the look, the interior is ok+ I liked it but I didn't like you can chose just one color (boring grey) and that's it. The screen is bad laggish and unusefull, it is just there to copy Tesla!
Ford raise in 2022 the price of the car of 3k and they are not accepting order anymore becouse don't have the materials to build ev cars. Sure there is a supply shortage but in reality they are very behind respect Tesla in bulding ev
I like and follow Rati's Rides reviews but there are some imprecisions.
First you can still order with panoramic sunroof that cames together with ford 360 outopilot but this will raise the price arriving to over 78k😬
BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THE REVIEW DIDN'T SAY IS THAT THE CAR GIVES YOU JUST 5 SEC OF POWER AND EVEN LESS..MORE YOU PUSH MORE THE CAR BECAME SLAGGISH AND UNUSEFULL!
WHAT FORD WAS THINKING TO SELL AND MARKET A CAR AS A PERFORMANCE CAR LET YOU SPEND ALMOST 80K AND NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU 5SEC OR LESS OF POWER. THE CAR SOFFER ABOUT HORRIBLE OVERHEATING AND AND RESULT IN ORRIBLE EXESPERIENCE TO DRIVE IF YOU JUST PUSH JUST A LITTLE!
IF FORD DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DO AND EV AND MANAGE THE OVERHEATING SHOULD NOT PUT IN THE MARKET A SUPPOSE PERFORMANCE EV WITH FAKE PERFORMANCE ADVERTISING!
    REALLY MISLIDING FOR CUSTOMERS!
ON THE TOP OF THIS THE DEALERSHIP EXESPERIENCE IS HORRIBLE, MY CAR DIED COPLETELY AFTER JUST 2K MILES AND THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX AT ALL, THEY EVEN DIDN'T WANT TO OFFER ME A LOANER TELLING ME THAT IS FAULT OF FORD AND I WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM THREATING ME VERY BAD. THIS AFTER YOU SPENT ALMOST 80K IN THEIR CAR. THE CAR STAYED THERE FOR MORE THAN 2MONTHS UNTIL WHEN FORD PROPOSED ME TO BUYBACK IT..FORTUNATELY!!
I know Walker Ford gives you the car and you have to advertise it but you still should hint at least of this big problem overall becouse following your Rati's rides reviews you are in performance driving and it is impossible you didn't notice it!

    • @wbwayne8887
      @wbwayne8887 Před 2 lety +1

I am sorry you have had that experience. That sounds horrible. I really believe that Ford rushed a performance version to the market because when the executives decided to call it a Mustang, they knew that buyers would expect a performance version to live up to the Mustang name, and the longer it took, the more impatient people would get. Therefore it came to the market, half baked. Hopefully for Ford's sake, not everyone buying a Mach E GT is having the same experience you did. That is truly unexcusable, especially when spending that kind of $$ on a vehicle.

Yes I had an horrible experience and the dealership was the worst part. They should improve, actually completely dismantle their dealeship arrangment for sure. The dealeships want just to make money on you without taking any responsability!
Then I don't think the car should die after just 2k miles and have an horrible overheating issue and cut in half the power after just 5 sec or less!! Like you said I think ford rushed the production scared that will lose the ev market for the future without having the proficency to build a decent car and not knowing how to manage the overheating issue at all.
Infact they delivered just around 6k mach e and already they stop even the orders becouse is to difficult for ford to build them!

I like the design and think Fird did a great job of tying the Mach E in with the Mustang. If I was an owner it would be way cooler to say I had a Mustang (cough) Mach E GT than just a Mach E. That said though, I still think it should have just been named the Mach E. No crossover/suv should have ever been called a Mustang imo.

Shame what ford did using the mustang nameplate on this electric monstrosity. I like how in your title’s you didn’t use mustang in there but called the mach e instead. They should’ve did that instead. I wouldn’t mind for the next generation mustang they add all this new tech that’s currently in the Mach e. I would assume this tech will reach to the other models in their lineup

Nice looking but disadvantages outweigh the pluses. Unfortunately, dealer markups, weak supercharger network when traveling just to name a few. I traded my 2017 Gt 350 for the egg shaped 2021 y performance and I have no regrets! My 2017 Gt 350 had more panel gaps than my Tesla. This coming from a guy that has owned 8 stangs ( 2012 Boss, 03 Mach 1, and the mighty 04 Cobra just to name a few). Great review.

It looks nice, but for $70 big ones I think it’s lacking. I judge the Teslas even more harshly. I think when people mention Ford’s efforts to tie in the Mustang name they are likely missing is not that the Mach-E is infringing on the Mustang’s territory, but how this is foreshadowing the future of the Mustang brand in both power trains and vehicle design.

After watching a few of your reviews I thought you could actually be unbiased unlike most reviewers but that idea quickly fell apart after watching this review. Pay attention to how many car reviewers drag any negative they can think of about Tesla into OTHER car reviews yet they VERY RARELY mention any of the many positives while reviewing other brands. Criticism is welcome and can be used to improve but when done fairly across all brands (the door fell off the Tesla?-come on Joe). How come you manage NOT to mention Tesla when you come across things Tesla does BETTER than the Mach-E-GT? Why is that (newfound MONEY I suppose)? Maybe you can take this criticism and improve as a car reviewer. You do a good job buy try to leave your biased comments out of the review. Really which brand do you think has the better software, the Ford or Tesla which is a Silicon Valley startup. Every reviewer seems to harp on build quality but somehow manages to gloss over the fact how great Teslas software is. Tesla WILL fix any quality issues long before you get GREAT software along with “over the air updates” that actually can improve the vehicle from other manufacturers. Fortunately many others can see the same flaws in most car reviewers such as yourself. That is why the Model-Y will outsell the Mustang EASILY 5-to-1 in the coming years. Doug DeMuro, Throttle-House and almost all reviewers do exactly as yourself. I am 55-years old but have definitely noticed how the older generations are biased towards the “old school” manufacturers. THE KIDS LOVE TESLA & just like with what happened with smartphones the same thing will occur with EV’s over the next 10-to-15 years. The transition will occur much faster than most think. This just happens with the adoption of new technologies. Think of all the older people that use to say “I just need a phone to talk”. Now they have smartphones because there IS NO ALTERNATIVE and the others have died-off. How many flip-phones do you see selling? Well built EV’s are the NEW SMARTPHONES & ICE-vehicles WILL become the new flip-phone. Many will fight this along the way (especially in the United States) but once EV-technology develops a little more they will be faster, safer, handle better (lower center of gravity) along with requiring much less maintenance. Not to mention they will undercut ICE-vehicles in price because the vehicles will be built using less parts. At this point you will either need to be stupid or stubborn not to purchase an EV.
