- Welcome to our home, a '92 Toyota Hilux Galaxy! Last year we made a HUGE decision to quit our jobs, dip into our savings, and travel full-time in this 30 year old Japanese adventure vehicle. But we knew if we were going to live out of this thing, it was going to need A LOT of work. It took 3 months of working around the clock, but the Galaxy got some major upgrades. Come check em' out!

Haha thank you!!! It was a wild 3 months… the first thing I did was tackle the vinyl 😂 we found a couple scratches underneath that the previous owners were probably trying to hide. But I’d much rather see those than that awful vinyl! Lol

curious to know how the insulation has held up, im thinking of importing a camper from japan also and im unaware what kind of insulation fibreglass homes have. i would be living in cold and hot conditions too.
Hey there! We are planning another renovation and will upgrade the insulation. The Reflectix was much better than nothing (which is how our camper came) but there’s definitely better options out there. I’m sure every JDM camper will be different, but unfortunately it’s hard to know until you have it

Are you having difficulty finding car parts and getting maintenance (especially major maintenance) for your vehicle? Cool ride btw 😁
Thanks! So far so good, aside from the engine, all the parts we’ve needed were the same for the old Toyota Pickup, so it’s easy to order those to a Napa or somewhere similar. We haven’t had any issues with the engine. If there was something major + unique to this engine, we’d have to get it shipped from AU
