You are so wrong ...I am a fan of Armin and I can name at least 10 very good djs .I am and I will always be a true fan ,first of all because he produces the best music out there and second because he is the engine which keeps the trance scene alive with his radio show A state of trance and with his concerts around the world.Trance or however you like to name it and the whole EDM scene would have NEVER been the big thing that is today without Armin.Next time you classify the fans of Armin think twice.
1) the fact that you used the word EDM means your response is null and void. Any trance fan that has ever been to Gatecrasher (before it burned down) would laugh in your face just for using the word EDM. Do you use hand love heart signs to show your appreciation for djs when you are out as well??? I thought so.. 2) I wish the EDM scene wasnt big - it was amazing when it was underground. There was no "EDM sound" and trance, house, techno all were credible. And yes, ive been to a few festivals and armin gigs in recent times and 99% havent got a clue. They are there because its armin. Like Real madrid or man utd fans (although maybe ill switch that to man city fans now...)

@45:30 what he does there with the crowd was amazing. Armin had the whole crowd dancing with him. Glad that I experienced in person. Although I will say at start he sound fairly commercial with the "drop" unfortunately. Other than that he finished the set in style @ 138+BPM. Sydney siders experienced a good dosage of trance.

i cant believe how badly trance has regressed on the top level of dance music. It was once the symphony and orchestra of dance music, it now as it sounds is monotonous, repetitive, cheesy and has this irritating industrial sound to it. The djs in particular the dutch djs, have no creativity, no class and definitely no programming skills. Trance was at its prime in the mid to late 90's, the djs back then primarily english and german were the true musical trance pioneers. This new generation of djs are EDM pawns - true reflection of how the sound is today riding on the back of a once truly great sound. As for Armin, congrats on your success, only God knows how you got on top with that rubbish you play. I have tried to listen to his sets, however just cant bare how bad the choice of tracks he plays. This is so bad!!!!!!!!! Shame on the current djs, maybe you should look to the past for some guidance into the future. Above and beyond is probably the closest you'll get to a quality trance set nowadays, surprise surprise they are English!!!
