Man all these maps are leaps and bounds more creative than the majority of what's made it into matchmaking I gotta say.
These were made to look good, the ones in MM were made to last competitively
But if they get added nobody will give them a chance anyway and continue to play Mirage
I think both are good, the most “different” maps in mm are nuke, agency, and office imo

looks and gameplay are two different things
CS:GO desperately needs a curated community map playlist for official matchmaking. Simplest way to implement it, might be a single playlist (a single tile in the matchmaking menu) which puts you into a queue for a handful of valve-curated community maps that rotate every month or two. It would be really simple to implement and would allow everyone easily to play all these amazing maps on official servers.
Nice idea but a lot of people would rather play 4-5 same active duty maps and perfecting tactics on them as much as they can to become great for competitive play (including me here) than to play random mid-quality maps that will be gone in 5-6 months even before you can master it. P.S. Im not saying that all community maps are bad (Cache is the best example) but they arent around for too long to become perfect competitive maps and CSGO isnt like 1.6 or Source anymore, its all about competitive. In 1.6 I liked to play surf, deathrun, jail break and a lot of other custom gamemodes but Im playing only MM and Faceit in CSGO...

I can now rest happily knowing that I'll never have to complain about maps using the same teal and yellow lighting ever again. Being able to distinguish one level from another just by the color composition and lighting is a forgotten trait I've wanted to see included in the game for years. These maps are almost everything I could want from a map pool.

I hope mirage gets a facelift and they make it closer to the 1.6/css version that had more of a italy/inferno theme to it. I'm tired of all these dusty maps being the popular ones.

I'm so glad to have seen this competition existed! So many detailed, well-designed maps to be played on. I feel like, even if some maps don't make it to the finals, they should still be updated and maybe have a shift of game mode. de_graveyard is one such example, if it were a danger zone map, albeit larger than it currently is, it would be massive fun to play on.
I love swamp. It just looks so professional.

The gameplay is there as well, try it out on mapcore hub, most of them are well balanced and thought out, even the hostage one.

Im lucky i have a big enough group of friends who play CSGO, because that means we get to play 4v5/4v4 on these maps without worrying about MM or other stuff. Just simply download it and I'm good to go.

I know right, still one of the most immersive game worlds ever built in my opinion.
I got out of CS:GO quite a while ago due to boredom with maps and their themes, but it's content like this that makes me still care about the game. Seeing the amount of obvious care end effort put into these maps by average people makes me appreciate them in a way unique to video games.

It's unreal how good mappers are these days. Almost all of the maps in top 11 can pass as Valve quality or better. It's inspiring and discouraging at the same time. Congratulations to all involved, what a wonderful hobby.
I want a sequel to de_graveyard using a container ship.
These maps are insane. I wish I had this dedication for my map.

The mentions to L4D really make me want to see some of these as L4D2 Survival Maps.
Cappadocia probably is my faviroute place in the world so far. The nap completely nailed the thene and its just cool to see the weird alian landscape as a map.

This reminds me how much i was blown away by de_wanda for CS:S back in the day. Thinking about it, should load some of the old ones up again, good memories.
I’m happy to say that I participated in this contest as it was a wonderful voyage into the wonders of mapping. It made me realize how much farther I must go to make a masterpiece of a map.

Gonji and Graveyard stood out for me as worth adding to map pool.
Mutiny, Anubis and Swamp were all great. It shows what this kind of competition can produce.
I love this video and all the maps showcased in it!
This video inspired me to continue my mapping adventure I put down and dropped in the sense that I went into a dark place and it feels like I'm just almost out of it. I have never gone into massive detailing in my maps but this inspired me to take a break from gameplay and go into the area I haven't thought to include. I 3d skybox, I've done it before and I think I will do it better and maybe instead of a small valley in a seemingly endless field it will be a small laboratory in the middle of a forest that separates 2 cities from each other in which the participants of the battle come from.
One thing about u didnt mention about chlorine: when u plant the bomb at bombsite b, the statue eyes in the middle of the site will glow
When i try Mustang, the graphic and theme make me feel like playing Farcry 4
and when i try Swamp, it makes me feels like on Destiny 2 Earth
Jungle is really inspired by far cry 3
All looks amazing, I can’t judge it because it’s all better than I could do

When you followed tutorials and tried mapping yourself you realize how skilled these people are, these maps are actually insane it's almost impossible to chose a winner, i'd have said de_zenith because of the visuals but since it's not in the top 10 i'll say de_Anubis, gl for the judges/mappers and thanks for the video.
