How to spot a game developer:
"This isn't a bug, this is a feature."
Yes like in the Mario
Or Minecraft java
Like the amplified Minecraft Java
this is an interesting feature of game developers. not a bug.

32-bit uses 3,25 GB RAM max.
If game needs more - use 64-bit system
any pc that is still 32bit cannot run that game so 64bit is the standard right now
*4GB
If you are on Windows 10 x86, you aren't gaming on that machine. Microsoft doesn't even support it. Most home PCs are 64-bit.
If you have old pc its 32 bits and with simple preinstalling the windows you can make 64 bits.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most PC games are only available for the 64-bit version of windows. When I got some help building a PC many years ago, the person who helped me told me that (at that time) there were some games that only run on 64-bit, and I believe most of today's (AAA) games only run on 64-bit. I only notice the 32-bit version of games when I am looking at smaller titles/indie games, but even when they don't offer it, I never saw anyone complaining about it.
don't skip the ad guys because he didn't put any price in his game.

The punches feel pretty nice in person! I can see how facing off against another player or AI would make for some fun gameplay!
MYTHIC UPLOAD YOUR NEXT DEVLOG
@@patapizza3382 haha yeah I'm waiting for one aswell. But with the amount of editing he probably has to do to make a video like his last one that'll take a while.
Mythic make DEVLOG #2!
UPLOAD THAT DEV BLOG BOI I NEED THAT!!!
Wow mythic legion , I have a question I hope you answer , do you make the particles in your game using unity's particle system or do you get them from another place, if you do them how did you learn that? please answer me and another question why don't you enter a game jam or even host a one I will of course participate
I think that the punch stpping after the block is a really good addition bcs without it ppl cant counter. This is like a way to prevent spamming, which was a rly big problem in the game
would be nice with a simple AI, it could rotate to face the player, move around and throw random combinations and blocks.
that's not simple
Dont expect an AI any time soon. For this style of game, it will be very difficult to program for
@@jonnylaw4569 no its possible just not simple im pretty sure unreal has ai but if it doesnt unity already does and im sure of that since i use it
@@jonnylaw4569 i already have a script which moves and rotates like the original commentor said but random combinations is going to be the tricky part
@@DeezNuts-hy7qn dude I dont know what are you thinking. "Unreal has AI" wtf? Moving around is the simplest thing, its done in 5 min tutorials. This games AI has to move around according to the players position, you wont find tutorials on that. Or did you make AI that moves according to the player? I am sorry if sounded rude, but he has to do tons of work beside walking part
You're probably fine only exporting to 64 bit. The last 32 bit computers came out in ~2010, and are not very common these days. Even Microsoft has dropped support for 32 bit versions of Windows 10.
Plus, very few 32 bit computers will be powerful enough to run punch a bunch, so not supporting 32 bit computers should work fine.
Exactly.
The reason why the build kept failing was probably because 32 bit computers couldn't handle it
Just a quick addition, 32bit computers can't have more than 4gb of ram.
The bits is the amount of 1's and 0's that can be computed and it works as a sort of exponential in human numbers.
I'd suggest reading en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64-bit_computing#64-bit_applications
The only 32-bit computers that exists in 2021 are all in schools, so it's probably a good feature that you cannot run them there :)
Agreed
Finally a demo

Sometimes unexpected bugs will create cool features.
I like the game.
Crowd can ''throw'' some powerups?( extra stamina, rage, more speed, for a limited of time-1-5 seconds at most )
I like the game.
You should make a story mode like in punch out
Ponty: You can play it on both controllers
Microsoft: We don't do that here.
If you have steam, you can also try adding the demo as a non-steam game to your library. since steam has controller support for Ps4, Xbox, and nintendo switch pro controllers. IDK if that will work, but it works for a lot of games that arent actually on steam.
Review On Punch A Bunch Demo: The game was fun and the punches with the leaning in were better than I expected. I was playing the game and I found the dragging of the camera is distorting and it throws off my aim for the punches that are already difficult to do. In a game like this, you want to be able to perform your punches well. The issue I am talking about is when your camera is not perfectly aligned with your character it feels weird to lean and especially throw out punches since the camera is being dragged by the character rather than instantly with. It feels like it was a similar issue as no split screenplay where the controls are reversed. I think you should either reduce the drag on the camera or make it instant. Does anyone else think this is a problem or is it just me? I hope this feedback is helpful.
I think that if the game is so simole that you can do everything in the first 15min of playing it looses its fun very quick. For example in rocket league there are countless mechanics that you just have to learn by time to get better, from inverted controls, flying flicks... it just adds to a game to be more skill based.
I agree. Other than that, its super fun!
â@@maticrecer8361 âI agree. But it should feel like the player is in control. From what @Mason Bennett is describing he feels like the control has been taken away from the player. I personally think that the hard to master stuff should be the timing of when to punch and block (and what side to punch ofc). Have a nice day if you're reading this :D
The prototype of the dummy kinda looks like one of those things devs hide in there games as a surprise for players to find (like in goat sim)
This is really cool, i also found a glitch, when you charge your left punch the red lines appear on the right hand, it isn't annoying but i just want to make you know, Keep it up and I'm sure this will come out one of the best indie games I've ever played đ
You should add a career mode where you can start small and go to championships. Their should be a way to train to get more strength or speed and make it where each time you upgrade certain things like strength and health you get bigger and slower but the more you upgrade agility and stamina you get thinner and faster.
That's a 2 million idea
Then you buy a Lion and develop an unhealthy addiction to Kalix löjrom.
Sounds like over scoping to me
The bugs: its time.
Ponty: bruh that was fast.
I love how the game may no look realistic, but the boxing is realistic in that follow through is crutial to landing a proper punch! Nice job bro!
The glitch with stalling punch is what they do in Punch Out. I think it could work for Punch A Bunch.
@Pontypants Iâd say only add the extended punch animation when you hit a blocking opponent so either way youâll have it and another feature for counter!
The game demo is amazing well done poopypants
thank you this made my day you liking MY COMMENT becuase im trying to make my own game and you really inspire me but i did say poopy pants but i meant pontypants
Nice work on releasing the demo!
I think an interesting video now could be you talking about the next steps for Punch A Bunch and where you want to go next with it!
Love your stuff man. I like how you're finding content to regularly out every week but it's not always necessarily the traditional dev vlogs. But the content stays true enough to what we started watching you for that it's an easy click everytime!
đđ Thanks so much! I want to make as many videos for you guys as possible but I do my best to keep it as interesting/fun as I can :) Thanks so much for the comment đ
Hey ponty, you probably won't see this but i just wanna say i love what you are doing it's been an absolute blast seeing punch a bunch develop more and more i can't wait to see more in the future, and also i want to say Thank you!! because you kinda inspired me to continue boxing and stuff i know it's kinda silly but yeah... again honestly love what you are doing, i wish you the best in these hard times, don't ever give up, i wish you the absolute best! Thank you for making me laugh and smile through your devlogs, i personally think yours is the best(don't tell dani) Goodluck in everything in life you are Amazing!! I Bet you one day punch a bunch is going to be BIG thank you for everything you've done(Also played your demo i found it awesome!! Keep up the great workk)

You can use multiple pendulums connect were the gravity is upside down your can make a bendy spring and you can change stiffness by changing the gravitational force on the pendulums
ALGORITHM JUICE
Is that a GFuel flavour? If not, maybe it could be ponty's signature one
I REALLY love the swinging bag idea that swings from the top, instead of being in a spring from the bottom.... Where it actually moves around and you have to time it would be super fun imo
I found your channel recently because I was thinking about making a game but unfortunately I have â0â knowledge about making games or coding and that stuff but I saw your first video about this game and itâs sooo shockingly good and I played the demo and I really like it and I wonder when are you planning to release this game because I canât wait.
I just disabled my adblock, refreshed the page, and when I got an ad, just didn't skip it. You should do that too! Small thing but helps (I hope)
We're literally blessed with your content, Ponty.
Stay awesome!
When you were playing with that first dummy and hitting it all over the place, it reminded me of a speed bag, which made me think that a gym with punching bags and dummies would be cool, maybe even a good tutorial thing, but idk, could just be too much work atm.
Iâm super stoked for the game though, itâs looking so good and promising. There is already quite a bit of depth to the mechanics and tbh I can definitely see this game being up there on par with big competitive games one day. Best of luck!
The demo works really well ponty! awesome job :D
"It's not a bug, It's a feature"
Itâs too bad cyberpunk did not go with that narrative lol
Nice! Going to try that right away đđ
I just binge watched all of your Punch A Bunch dev videos and I'm kinda sad that I'm now up to date and have to wait for future uploads. I'm in the UK and studying Games Programming at University and I have to say watching you progress with your game, really makes me want to start a project of my own, I have to resist though as it would probably eat too much of my time and affect my education. Keep the videos coming, I love the progress! - On a side note: I'm seriously considering buying a controller just to be able to play your demos. :D
Very Nice Start. The Stickiness feels good and the way a properly timed punch looks and feels better is really nice. I found if you block with the left but punch with the right he would start to do some kind of head banging and his head would stick to dummy a bit but nothing major against a dummy. Another nice addition would be bendy ring ropes but give them the sticky feeling too so you would fell that you are stuck on the ropes. Defo a nice start to the game man. Keep it up :)
watched your vids when you first started and left a comment, asking you remember when you get big. Thats gonna be soon and I'm checking if you still do
Still remember đ
It's been a while but well done on getting this demo out!
Congrats on finally realeasing a demo. I cant wait to play it. When I do I will leave feedback but I cant wait to play. I have been watching punchabunch since the start and I love this. Congrats man!
Good job there, looking forward to it!
OMFG I have Punch A Bunch on my PC now! It looks so beautiful!
Are you sure there isnât a way to add keyboard and mouse support? Like youâre not gonna get many players playing the game if there is only controller support only (no hate)
Yeah if there is no m+k support your game is doomed in pc
@@elfelon9465 Doubt it. A LOT of people who own PCs also own controllers and a charger for it. Not really like too many people only have PC

Really love the demo and the controls don't feel difficult to learn. Once you get a hang of it it's pretty much straight forward. Can't wait for the game to release. A little extra is a knockout ragdoll physic. I wish you all the luck to make this game really good :D
Tested the game out, Ponty. It's awesome so far! Managed to get the hang of the controls fairly quickly, so they're pretty intuitive for the type of game you're making I feel. Can't wait to try the real deal out!
I'm waiting for the day I will see :
Releasing my game to steam !
Hope you the best
You have grown so much! You are EPIK
So the game's controls are actually really nice! This is something I feel like I could play for hours.
This is really good, keep it up!
Aawesome vid Ponty! Man what afunny code dude! Glad I watched all the way till the end to _really_ make sure I knew what that code was.
You should make a tutorial where you have to fight the dummy. It has a quick video clip of a specific move (e.g. uppercut) being done, then it shows you the controls you use to do the move. Once you do it properly, it moves onto the next move.
I think it would be fun if there was a punch meter that builds up when you land successful punches and when it gets full it lets you hit with an ultra powerful block-breaking punch
.
Congratz on getting the demo done. I think your 'bug' is a great feature, boxing is strategic in that being offensive can be very detrimental because you have to stop defending to attack so it's a nice balance there. Consider it an attack anti-spammer. In fact, it'd be nice if you could control how long it takes to get back to a defend position, make it an attribute. Then you could adjust it.
I am here!!!! So excited đđđ
It's really cool, but i noticed a bug. If you block and hold to fight at the same time the particles of the right hand will still be there while blocking!
It's here, LET'S GO.
From a boxing perspective, the bug you were talking about around 3:10 is of course a scenario where you could get countered (if you leave your hand out after a punch), however 99.9% of countering opportunities are taken before the original punch lands.
This makes throwing virtually any punches much more viable. Leaving the bug in makes counterpunching much easier and would discourage any jabs.
Your game is really cool, and it has some serious potential if taken a bit further. Further dimensions of boxing are added through not making the characters "squared up", i.e making the characters lead foot (all right handers stand with the left in front) a bit in front of the original position you got here, the same goes for the right foot but a step back from the original position. This "diagonal" stance, gives balance from getting knocked down on your ass.
This gives the separation between left hand and right hand punches. Punches from the left hand are easier to reach further with, because the left foot is further in front. They are also easier to "just throw out" (it is more unpredictable because it has to travel a shorter distance before contact) and with the range advantage over the right hand, it fills a purpose without any big power, because it sets up the punches coming after it i.e The Jab.
Punches with the right hand become harder, because the whole body turns with the throw of the punch. In addition to this, the "right cross" (a straight punch with the right hand) Is more predictable also.
I personally believe that just adding this gives a bit more complexity while keeping the game easy to understand. There is infinitely more possible boxing mechanics to be added, but i feel like that would remove a bit of the arcade charm and would make the game much more difficult. /an amateur boxer of 5 years
Game is feeling epik Ponty! I feel like it'd be a great idea to include the actual number of damage being taken by the dummy after each punch, so people could compete to land the most devastating punch. This wouldn't be necessary for actual fights, but for practicing it could be a nice motivation to keep punching and trying new combinations. Keep it up!
3:24 sometimes the error is at somewhere else, try to search in the box down: ERROR just type that and all the errors will be visible to you
3:25 if you mean by deleting ue files deleting build file (in your game files) the build file or Intermediate file is the settings if the game so
if you delete it ue4 will generate a new one when you open the project again so you can try it don't worry :D this will work if you did something wrong in the game settings
you can try to go to the project settings and check: platforms - windows - os info - Target 32 bit
if it workes you have to show my comment in the next video >:)
Honestly, I think that the game is still very simple. Make levels, battle pass and I think that 90 procents of gamers use mouse and keyboard work of that (no hate you are my best youtuber).
I donât think a battle pass is good for local games. But the rest of your ideas are good(:
@@oronopt8632 I think that ponty will add multiplayer
I haven't played it, but I love your take on the controls. It reminded me of how the game 'Skate' differentiated itself from Tony Hawk's pro skater where you use the sticks to control your feet to do the tricks instead of just smashing button combinations.
Good luck!!
Your videos are beautiful and I follow the creation of the video game from the beginning. Congratulations, keep it up !!!

Man... i saw all the devlogs and after downloading the game and testing out its just PEEEERFECT, i mean, the controls feels really physical and also really smooth, the anti-spam system also its really nice and smooth, simply amazing work!!!
Also i would like to see a little bit more about AI or 1 vs PC demo.

Yaaay so glad you like it!! đ Thanks so much for trying the game! I'm definitely thinking about AI and a career mode thing for single player :) I think it will be fun!
The controls are strangely satisfying. I just uploaded an in depth review if you care to check it out!
Hello there pontypants, I was thinking if you could add a "jump" feature/button to the game. It would be so cool to go on someone and jump on him and hit him in the air.
None of these comments gave you enough credit of how good this game is. I love the physics to it already and I like what you are doing. I am a huge combat sports fan and can honestly say this is really on its way my friend. Everything is looking and feeling real good. Making something like this is not easy. The controls are what really got me. They are super unique. Can't wait to see it on steam! Tuning in every vid man. Great job bro. đ

best and most fun game devlog on youtube - just love it! :)
The demo is awesome!
Noticed that when you charge left punch the particle effect of the lines is appearing on the right hand.
Very awesome as always!
:D
Has anyone told you yet that the 'bugged out' dummy you had hanging from a box is a bit like a speed bag? Which I think boxers use for actual training. Maybe a training minigame? Rocky montage? Rocky montage.
First of all congrats for your Demo release, I was really looking forward to it! :)
Just one thing when you hit the opponent, the particles look more like the Player gets damage than the opponent getting hit.
Congrats! Followed up with your progress! Respect â
I hope youâll succeed on getting a lot of downloads for your game! đđȘđ
HI! I played you demo and I just want to say that I REALLY liked it! It was fun but I wish I could play with other people but I knew that it was only a demo. One thing I would like to see in the game is be able to lean back against the ring and able to bonce onto your opponents with a powerful punch.
I have been waiting for this! I can't wait to play with it with people on Parsec!!! Good luck!
Crazy to see how far you got. Im a game artist myself and never thought i could make it into development but this is so inspiring
Just a small anition glitch when you start to charge your punch and then block with that same charged fist the effect of charging still plays (as long as you hold it down), and I'm not sure whether I love the blocking buttons. But that's just my thoughts, love the game and I have been following since the first game dev, this game is definitely going places.
YAY! I've been so excited for this!!!
Best game Dev series, I like the editing, I'm waiting for the future collaboration with CZcams Dani.
good person sense of humor love it
- You can charge your fist to infinite, wouldn't be nice after max charge, if you don't use your punch in 2-3s you will lose the super punch charge
- Moving forward / backward should lean or some more animation on the body, is looks rigid
- BUG: Charge to super punch (righthand for ex.) don't release it, block (same hand) , release the punch, release the block , the glove still has the animation from super punch (disappears after next punch, but I don't know if the damage is normal / charged)
- Even if I lean forward (low level) and i hit the opponent, an animation happens to opponent neck not at the body level where is the hit (maybe specific body part)
- also a number - 77 - 54 for the damage value
- Please watch the shadow of the dummy (*is that a p- ????*)
Multilanguage support: We can help you with that if you make a repository that contains english labels (.xml, .xlf or .json or something similar). I can help you with *RO* (Romanian)
Is just a great feeling to play this after watching your progress... can't explain. Never had this feeling in my life. Really good job Ponty!
Thank you for the awesome content!!!
We have to make this a esports category
With that testing first, you could totally make a "Speed Bag". that would be pretty cool
demos super fun cant wait for the game to come out
I like the pause mechanic. Maybe make your character go limp if someone blocks and does a counterattack or something at the exact right time.
Hi Ponty, watching you from France, keep up with the good work, you rock bro ! About your "freeze bug" when you punched the dummy, it looks like the kind of little freeze you get when you land a hit on most fighting games like street fighter or so. It could be good to keep this in mind if you plan on implementing some combo system or super. Have a nice weekend :)
well i can definitely say that code thing worked i watched it until the end
This is exciting! I can't wait to try it đ
It is beautiful to play tbh thx for such a great demo
