I've done blending on my landscape materials but not on static meshes yet and was actually thinking about looking into this a few days ago.. Really looking forward to this now and thanks for all your amazing videos!
you're a great teacher, love the simplicity, with details! subbed!
thanks!
Wow, I didn't realize there was so much to vertex painting. Thanks again, love your tutorials.
Happy to help!
very easy to understand and the best it works
I cannot believe what I am seeing it with my eyes! LOOL TY SO MUCH!
great video! thank you for explaining everything in detail, very helpful!!
Welcome!
Thank you very much, very well explained vertex paint fundamentals!🙂
You're very welcome!
will be a fantastic journey!
This video really helped me. Thank you very much!
Welcome!
Wow. You're the best. I couldn't understand what you were saying but I just followed instructions. Thank you so much
lol welcome
Thx .Nice easy beginners guide. helped plenty!
welcome!
nice its actually working
These tutorials are gold
Yeah! Welcome to the gold mine 😁
Great tutorial, thank you!
Welcome!
Ncie Job.
Thanks for that.
Great video tutorial it's working on my device iOS
These videos are so good, and so good to have you! Maybe we can expect a video on optimization? Performance improvements and making the game run smoother? ❤❤
That's a great topic to touch on
working fine thank you
i think epic hav to improve this ''ways'' to mix textures and materials and VRT... this reay kills he work flow
great vid
Este tutorial es mucho mejor que las otras en todo el mundo en CZcams. Muchas gracias 🙏
De nada!
Best of the best
Love your channel, can you or do you have a tutorial on cameras, rendering and/or film making
Thank you! I think we can touch some cinematics in ue5
there is a topic I would like to hear about. Painting through mesh attrs that were created on external packages. The length of a curve is a geometry attr for example.
It's been a while since i dabbled in UE so maybe they changed that in 5 , but i just hope that finally Epic will provide some pre-made material templates with all the nodes already connected & supporting material functions like 3-way vertex blend, displacement, so on. One of the things that always makes me choose Marmoset Toolbag over UE when i want to setup my assets is how the material creation is so much more user-friendly & fast in Marmoset. In Ue4 if you wanted a displacement enabled you had to spend several minutes set-uping that from scratch.
I agree with that. Unigine is especially great at that, it provides a great default shader with all the complex stuff already set up.
Sa here!
great video!
whats the app you're using for those screen drawings and arrows? Thanks!
Thank you! It's called Lightshot
Hello, first I'd like to thank you for this very well explained tutorial! I appreciate this very much and I learned a lot.
Question could you please show how I can add a third material on the first graph you made? I know it can done with the material blend on Bridge but I'd like to learn how to add multiple materials instead of just 2. Thanks again for the hard work! :)
Thank you! Just grab another vertex color and blend it on top of the latest blend, keep stacking them. Of course the order will matter
Bro you are legend, By the way can you make a tutorial on bake lighting and dynamic lighting specially with emissive materials
that's an interesting topic
@@unfgames please consider this topic
so much to learn 😫😭
Hi Mao, thank you for this vidéo, is it the same as using Bridge in UE to create a master material blend ? Yours seems different. I would like to find a tuto that explains the new MMBlend with Quixel Bridge and especially the use of the Scatter Layer !
it gives the same results, MMBlend with Quixel just have more options for blending but you should be good to go with the heightlerp node
Sooo trueeee
so basically all you need is to use quixel material blend, it gives you all parameters that you need to paint on the mesh. Thanks for explaining how it works.
it's a handy material, but if you want to create yours you know how too
tmestamps? i just want to see vertex painting part
for a 3 layer blend material can the top layer have an alpha and still be paintable? ex: (dirt- base, grass- mid, leafs- top)? been trying to hook in up but it let it be paintable, any ideas on this?
It really is
Really struggling to get this to work. I keep following up to minute 11, and it doesn't show anything. The red channel is painted when in RGB mode, then when I go into the off view no changes are made.
nvidia rtx3060 12 gb or nvidia rtx3060ti 8 gb for UE4?
Hmmm... Seems like a difficult program to handle but manageable.
i didnt test yet but can we use blend material for landscapegrasstype/landscapegrassoutput ? i mean for example i create a landscape and use blend material, rock dirt and grass maybe idk. For grass its create a flowers, for rock creates small rocks and for dirt creates some leaves or sticks etc etc.
I haven't tried that yet but from my experience Landscapes don't go well with layer material workflow.
@@unfgames i will try when i get home, if its not work we can keep using automaterials 😑
@@unfgames hey i have some problem with grasstypeoutput. so i do have custom landscape material and its works perfectly. if i fill my layer with automaterial its spawning grass but its everywhere not in just grass. i do have 2 more materials on automaterial its rock and dirt. so i tried to substarct them but its also did not work. if i fill my layer grass dirt or rock i am getting my grasstype results but couldnt figure out in autolayer.
i just search some videos/forums about this and couldnt find exact answer. peoples trying to mask the rock/cliff layer and substact with autolayer. or they are creating alpha masks with painting(wich is i do not want to do that) and using this alpha channel to spawn grass. both answers not good for me. but i did see the my way in some marketplace material packs. so there is a way but couldnt find it, do u have any suggestions?
do you think it's worth using Quixel Bridge when creating a game? I just think that it eats FPS a lot
Its definitely worth it, you can modify meshes and optimize textures
Where your part2 video???
Which Engine is best for making 3d mobile game without any single animation?
i don't like animals, human in my game. Please which engine is good for me?
Any engine as long you are good making games. Personally we use Unreal for anything, if it's good for big titles it's good for us too 😁
Make video for Mobile game developer
"inconvenient' would describe your previous comnt better then
Harry Osborn ?
😚
It doesn't work with Nanite rigth? Vertex painting i mean..
Thanks for the video!
not per instance mesh, you would need to apply the data to all the meshes
@@unfgames what do you mean by this ?
@@matttttt3o you need to apply the vertex color information to all the meshes, you can't have meshes with unique vertex colors.
@@unfgames got it ! Thank you 😊
Man, I'm so drunk now hahaha
Not gonna lie, this was awful to watch, but I learned so, so much. Thanks for the very informative video
Lol thanks
Not nanite though
has limitations at the moment
Get 😮😅😅
quixel mixer, work smarter not harder
Not the same, one modifies textures, one modifies materials and vertex information. The other difference is that the height depends on the vertex color, so every mesh will be different.
Nah you missed the point of what he's doing.
Why is a "v" a "b" in Spanish?😅
😂
Geez! This is overly complicated to make a unique surface!! Gotta snap my own neck to paint some varied surface.
it's ok once you get used to it
