Talking about a bit about the specs, showing many photos and videos, doing some image stabilization tests, and giving you my humble thoughts about that sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens.

Chris, I started this in the morning and have been watching on and off all day. I was finally able to sit down and watch the entire video. You photos are STUNNING!!!! You have some amazing creatures there. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🤗💖
Thank you so much for your comment Jonny! 👍
Glad you liked it.
Hopefully i will see more & more creatures new to me. 😀
@@Chrispitchwildlife And I will look forward to them. They are new to me too!! 🤗💖

Oh! Thank you so much for your comment and for subscribing Doctor. I hope you ll have fun with it! 😀
Are u satisfied with the lens? I’m thinking to buy one😅
hi @@Hobby_Photograph_Abbe , 50% of the youtubers forgot to activate the notifications, so there is a few chances that the Doctor answers you.
I would say, if you have a DSLR, why not get the Sigma. (there are not many cheap options anyway)
But if you have a Canon mirrorless with RF mount, i would consider the RF 100-400mm which is very good and cheap.Or for more reach, look at the brand new RF 200-800mm.
I personally own the RF100-500, and it is super sharp small, and versatile, but around 2800USD.
Cheaper options for reach would be the RF800 F11. Also very light weight.
Cheers!
best review i’ve seen on this lens, great work and thank you.
Thank you so much for your comment Sir! Very appreciated! 😀👍
2 things:
1) I noticed the camera settings info of the flying lizard are wrong.
Here is the correction:
600mm
F8
1/2000 sec
ISO 1600.
2) I am sure you got it, but meant to say 1/1000 sec, and 1/2000 sec instead of just "shutter speed 1000" and "2000".
Please let me know if you see any other mistakes.
Salamat po. 🙂
Amazing photos. Great video.
Thank you so much for your comment Klinger, really appreciated! 😀
Thank you for mentioning the zoom level beside the pics .
You are welcome Zoom!
And thank you for the comment. 😀
Tank u for this vidéo ❤
Oui belle idée ❤
One of these months I can buy that item from you. 😊😊😊 Wait me there soon.😊
Thank you for your comment Francis! 😀
But yeah... first come first served.
Why you not use the lens hood.
because i shoot hidden in the shadows, because its more weight to carry around, because there is more free space in my bag, because the sun is behind me, and because i keep it still brand new for you. 😉
@@Chrispitchwildlife 😄😄😄
So the Mode 2 is more stable than 1? As in for shooting freehand birds etc we are better off with 2?
Hello Wesb, thank you for your question.
I would say, mode 1 for a bird perched on a branch. Mode 2 for panning, meaning for shooting a bird in flight going from your left to your right for example.
At least that what every youtuber are saying. Personnaly i just use mode 1 for everything, because i always forget to try mode 2 if i see a bird flying. 😆
On a tripod just turn IS off though.
Have a nice day 🙂✌️
@@Chrispitchwildlife thanks for the reply. I’ve had this lens for 2 weekends now, been chasing the hummingbirds. Once you crank the shutter and ISO up the exposure is so dark it’s ridiculous lol. However when shooting them on the branches, preening etc the same way one would any other small bird this lens is right up there with 99% of the non-professional hummingbird portraits on Instagram, and I own zero editing software besides an iPhone 📱. I think for it being 1/3 of what Canon charges for their wildlife lens the Sigma is a solid buy. It definitely exceeds the 75-300 that Canon sells is with the T7.
@@wesb123 that Sigma is ok for the price. But did you know that for $600 USD canon offers the RF 600 F11? And for $900 USD they have the RF 800 F11?
Try one of those if you can. They are 2 to 3 times lighter and maybe a bit more sharp. (Sharper than MY Sigma for sure) And the IS is way more effective.
Ah, but i guess your camera is not a R serie?
About the 75-300: that was my first lens, and i think my copy was really bad. I hated it... I bought the EF-S 55-250 instead, and this one is very good!
@@Chrispitchwildlife I just looked up the R series lens compatibility and they do not work with DSLR nor do they make an adapter for any DSLR.
Thanks for your time.
@@wesb123 no problem, yes i confirm. Under 1000 USD you have the best 600mm lens for dslr. 👍
Have a Nice day!
