That harsh bald line can be avoided by not using your trimmer to make the initial line. I just use my clippers to draw the line, then come with the trimmer. Dope cut though, just trying to help.

When using the clipper over comb technique, do you have the clipper open or closed with no guard? Or does it depend on how long the hair is that you’re trying to trim down?

That used to be a problem for me. What I do now is I make the first guideline with my clippers with no guard all the way closed. Then I use my shavers to bald out the bottom part but I don't go as high as the first guideline I just made with the clippers. I leave a small space underneath the guideline. It's like making another line under the first guideline with the shavers. To get rid of that line, I use my trimmers using a flicking out motion. Then I make another guideline with no guard all the way open. Then get rid of the bottom line with no guard all the way closed, then half way open like he shows in the video. And make sure your clippers are zero gapped. That's how I get clean ass fades.
I use a 3 blade razor for the bottom line... n use the shaver to flick that line out... if you do a skin fade with a shick 3 blade style razor just use something like body wash or shampoo to lube it (the person will shower after then just wipe it with a paper towel when youre done), some people use a straight edge but if you aren't skilled enough you may end up with a head full of cuts and its slower, so i stick with the shick 3 blade green disposable and the shaver flickin out to knock it off at the end... peace

I have been cutting for 13 years this year, and I love these sort of fades. Long, smooth, clean fade with a sharp line up. Beast mode on.

I agree I just do it with the clipper and come with trimmer under than shaver you get better blurry fades that way too
So instead of using trimmer I use my Clipper Close to do my Guidline then under trimmer and shaver under ? Learned something new off comments lol
