ok this feels very special to me as I was the guy who requested this a while ago. here is the origin story:
I had one of these weird dreams about 2 years ago when the pandemic fucked with our lives. I just moved to a new place shortly before and got a new job so a lot was changing in my life. hadn't seen many friends in a long while, some of them I would never see again. one circle of friends was full of people who liked hip hop, trap and all that stuff. I was the only metalhead although I liked oldschool rap like nas or ice cube too. I tried and failed to get my friends into metal, with the exception of some very rap-heavy songs by limp bizkit or linkin park^^
spit it out was always one of my favourite slipknot songs and the rap verses are a big part of what makes it special imo. so one night I dreamt that I was in studio with ice cube and dre and the 3 of us created a NWA style over of spit it out. and it was a very long dream that included me convincing them of the idea. finally we performed it together at some festival and corey taylor himself joined us on stage.
then I woke up and later thought that would be cool and wrote a comment for 10seconds songs making that suggestion.
watching this feels absolutely surreal. a creation of my subconcious made reality by one of the artists I have admired on youtube for almost 10 years at this point (damn we're getting old). and you did an incredible job! thank you ant

I love these conversion type songs..like remember when yelawolf did an album HIP HOP TRIBUTE TO CLASSIC ROCK ..i just absolutely adored his version of TNT by AC/DC.. cuz it sounds old skool almost like run dmc and beastie boys.. rock/metal transitions rather nicely into hip hop and vice versa.. like leo from frog leap studios his missy elliot covers are sick, (even the MV he did for WORK IT) and he even did pitbull terrier by die antwoord (i don't know what genre that artist is) but he made it metal af... i hope anthony collabs with leo one day!

also mike patton from mr. bungle and faith no more..one of the earliest hip hop/rock bands.. corey was very depressed and had S. thoughts but he saw faith no more at the VMA'S as it was the bands 1st time performing at the vma's on mtv... and he said thats what saved his life.. he just knew he was going to be n a similar band..it gave him hope.. also the song they performed is called EPIC and its about going for what u want but also appreciating what u have...corey talked about this in an interview as being his earliest and most profound influences and its also on Wiki .. music has saved my own life many times...it's powerful 🔥@@mr.amadeuscrisantemus6267

Slipknot's rapmetal sounds good even without the metal. I'm sure NWA will sound awesome if you add the metal to the rap.

There still are some new artists that like to mess with old styles, they are kinda small but still, if you look for this stuff you'll find it

The music on this cover sounds like the bg music in some of the fight scenes from Jeeja Yanin's Raging Phoenix. Yeah, you could choreograph a martial arts fight to this version.
Long shot from a less listened to genre, but Jason Boland's "Proud Souls" in the style of Marilyn Manson. Always thought that would be an amazing cover for him, just slow and haunting, but... beautiful? Almost like Johnny Cash doing hurt.

Want a real challenge? Toy Soldiers by Martika, in the style of Prince, Korn, Sinatra and Louis Armstrong. Use the styles like wah pedal effects for single beats or whole bars. Like how Shakira uses so many styles in "Wherever, Whenever" 2:05 - 2:22. "Element Eighty - Texas Cries" is another where they really chop and change between course, clean, lo-fi, croaky styles etc. I love singing Twinkle Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (got kids) transitioning through styles between metal scream and Pink Floyd and then Croaky then British punk etc, where almost every word is a different style depending on what impact I want that word to have.
