    Hey guys Today I will show you how to make go-kart steering out of riding lawn mower steering (I am not referring to zero-turn lawnmowers). You will need some other metal (angle Iron, nuts and bolts, round steel stock, etc) to complete this project.

    The number one reason one side turns further than the other is because of unequal distance between the wheel pivot and the tirod. So, think of it this way. Your wheel is on a hinge. this allows it to swing left and right. Just like opening and closing a door. Now image you have two equal doors and you are holding the door knobs in each of your hands. Your arms are like the tierods that connect your steering. When you lean left the doors open left, lean right they open right. But this is how you can mess up the balance. Your door knobs are not in the same place. Imagine one door knob is actually in the middle of the door. Now, it takes less distance for your hand to move the door to make it open each way, so one door opens 5 degrees and the door with the knob in the middle opens 10 degrees.

    Neat project. Check out Ackerman's theory. With the steering rod behind the front axel and adding angle to your spindle rod mounts, you can achieve the opposite effect making the inside wheel turn at a sharper angle than the outside matching the rotation path of the rear wheels.

    Sorry my technical english is not perfect, but the reason one wheel is turning more than the other is that you dont have 1/ lever brackets from wheel and from steering in the same angle and 2/ steering rods are not parallel to the wheel axis (axle), so the one rod always has to be "longer" and pulls the wheel more to the side (different rods angle from wheel axis when maximum turn).
