  • In this video I walk through how to record guitar cover videos and my recording process. I use a combination of my amp (Yamaha THR10), Reaper, Bias FX, and Adobe Premier Pro. This has been the question I've been asked most on my channel, so I hope this helps some of you who may be looking to start making your own guitar videos! I couldn't get into every aspect in this video as it was getting long, so please let me know if you have any further questions in the comments :).

    You ever get "red light fever?" It's when you turn on the recorder, tense all up and don't play as well as you can. Happens to me all of the time.

    • @upplsuckimcool16
      @upplsuckimcool16 Před 6 lety +162

      that's an illusion....... the onyl reason you feel like you don't play better when you're recording is becuase you cannot mess up AT ALL and you know it.
      When you're playign without a recording we tend to mess up slightly but don't even notice it and just continue with the song.
      When recording those mess ups stop everything...... I thought the same thing, btu I actually realized I mess up the same amoutn whether recording or not.... it's just that it MATTERS when ur recording.
      (obviously this is just a suggestion on what it may be other than what you assume it is already, think about it that's all)

Ok, that aside; Great vid for those just starting out or thinking of going for it. Reaper is only 60 bucks and like you said, can be used until you are ready. Full featureset, not limited. I have used several others, but for 60 bucks instead of 600 or more or less, this has everything I need. Thank you so much for this vid. I bet you are responsible for many ppl getting in there and giving it (recording) a shot. There is a learning curve, but one step at a time and ppl can be up and running in no time. I have one suggestion that may make things easier if you have to manually sync the audio and video tracks. Before you start playing your song you could just play a single 16th note or a chord, the shorter the better, this will create a spike in both the waveform your video records as well as a spike on your actual audio track which makes syncing things a lot easier =)

    I thought "that can be done better" several times in this video. Seconds later, every time, you did things how I do them. Example: Audacity vs DAW or dual tracking guitars vs single track.
    Great instructional!

    You do a good job of explaining what and how you are doing it, I am working with two computers, one for video editing and the other for music recording, now to make it all work together, I use the m-audio delta 1010 card for audio recording.

    Really cool. I very much appreciate you putting this video up. There is not a lot of tutorials that are user friendly when it comes to using DAW's, however, you are an exception. You made perfect sense and now I can't wait to get back and start recording some riffs that cause the dead to rise.

    Okay, you are my idol. I started learning guitar with a teacher and i had to drop the lessons because of the school, i am a senior now. When i go to college ı definitely will start again cuz guitar is life and it makes me really sad that i am unable to play this year, because i have no time. It makes me really happy to see you improving and it makes me really happy to see you happy😁 Your videos are very encouraging and inspirational for newbies like me please keep up with your amazing content😊

    Hella useful video. You just made a good case for the THR10 as well for both as a practice amp and a recording device. Was thinking of getting just a regular audio interface and my PC to get a tone but I did not know you could also use the THR10 as an audio interface. Good stuff!
