    Love my Beckmans. I own four pairs (chestnut, cigar, black cherry and black). Hopefully they’ll bring these back so others get to enjoy them as well. Hopefully they’ll add a new color too. Super sturdy boots that I’m sure will last a lifetime. Yours look nice!

      There is news? They are discontinued , right?

    I have a pair of cigar colored Beckman’s from 2010 that are still going strong on their original soles. I did avoid wearing them for awhile due to their initial stiffness. The break in period was long & arduous, however, they’re incredibly comfortable now.

    This is my boot! Beckmans in Black Cherry! Bought them in 2017 without any idea they were discontinuing them at that time. Love them! Have only used them for dressy casual. Have now acquired AE Higgins Mill in Chili German Leather to use as dressy casual as well. I pound around casually in Red Wing Moc Toe Oro Legacy. Love upscale footwear!

    Nice review! Yes, the old generation Beckman was also made on the #8 last, like the Iron Ranger and Blacksmith. I found my 9414 Beckman pair (slight variation from the 9014) to also be roomy in the heel cup, and so I added a thin piece of leather from an old wallet with some contact cement, and the fit is spot on now for me. The Beckman is a lovely boot - versatile and classy!

    I have these same boots. Have bad them for about 8 or 9 years. Super comfortable and versatile. I wear mine all winter. They are a bit on the heavy side, but great quality.

    I have a pair of Beckman's in Cigar Featherstone since 2015. I'm super happy with them. In the fall and winter its my daily footwear. Great review.

    I bought a pair... For me the pain point was the waxed laces. Those laces had way too much friction and were also too short for 7 eyelets, making the whole process of lacing up, tightening, loosening, etc. really painful. Also, because of the waxed laces' friction, the tongues were basically hard to move, making donning and doffing the boots themselves really hard without emptying the top 3 rows of eyelets. After 3 days of this, I just switched to round elastic laces with a spring-loaded fastener, with a looser lacing pattern, and they made the boots way more wearable

    • @Bootlosophy
      @Bootlosophy  Před 2 lety +2

      I changed the laces to another pair of well worn flat waxed laces straight away!

    I just ordered my first pair of these boots off ebay! I love the color and finish on your beckmans. How do you get them so shiny? I would love to see you do a video on boot care.

    It seems like Japan recently got a new stock of Beckmans Flatboxes. However, they’re even pricier than the Iron Rangers.

    I found the Beckman’s too narrow. I still own and enjoy my Iron Rangers in an 11D, but my Beckmans in the same 11D were too narrow and uncomfortable. After wearing them over a year I gave up and sold them on eBay. They never got comfortable despite break in. BTW, I measure an 11.5D on brannock device. If I were do do the Beckman’s again (I wanted to, but Redwing discontinued), I would get my true size of 11.5D due to how narrow they were.

    A really good review! I'm only just getting interested in boots and I want to buy a pair of Chelsea boots. What's your opinion of the Thursday boots Duke Chelsea boots? They seem quite reasonable in price.

    • @Bootlosophy
      @Bootlosophy  Před 2 lety +1

      I don’t have a Thursday Chelsea myself but have 4 lace up boots from them. They’re good entry level boots and you get what you pay for. I’d recommend them for that value. Excellent customer service too.

    • @rangerscoach
      @rangerscoach Před 2 lety

      i had a play around with thursday boots and can give them an unqualified recommendation. on value they are untouchable in the industry at the moment. i will say that i didnt buy them though. i ended up getting churchs houston boot which was the Chelsea preferred by the Beatles. depending on your size you can find massively discounted chelseas on the internet. silhouette and leather really matter with a chelsea because its not a shoe type with a lot of interesting features. but when you get the fit of them right they are like a perfect glove. thursdays boot for me has a really cool dainite type sole which was superior to the churchs houston and even my RM williams. but there is just a crazy mystical property to the 'john lennon' shoes i couldnt pass up

    Hello Teik! How do you clean the insoles of a used boot? I was able to get a 9111 recently and i scrubed the insoles with brush using saddle soap and water. And have you experienced purchasing a used boot with the insole not exactly the same imprint as your feet? Does it conform to your foot shape in time? Thanks in advance!

    • @Bootlosophy
      @Bootlosophy  Před 8 měsíci +2

      I wipe it down with alcohol. I never buy boots where the insole is already imprinted.

      Venetian Shoe Cream and a LOT of brushing. The Featherstone leather takes a good shine.

    Is the 9011 different from 9411? Just bought a pair of 9411 black cherry two days ago, and I have never seen a difference between from 9011 you featured in this video.
    Greetings from 🇵🇭

    • @Bootlosophy
      @Bootlosophy  Před rokem +2

      The 9011 has been discontinued. I think the 9411 is similar but manufactured only for the Asian market. I don’t think there’s much of a difference. One I know of is it’s built on a modified last with less of a bump toe.
