This was the first ever song my father ever showed me. Not something he played on the radio and I happened to hear, he purposefully made me come and sit and listen with him. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that day now. My father just recently passed completely unexpectedly. I love this song so much more now, but my heart hurts so much to hear it. We always did have similar music taste :)

When I listened this for the first time it was summer 2020, I was 13 year old boy who was skinny, short, no girlfriend, immature, bad grades, couldn’t fight.
Now I’m back in 2022 listening to this masterpiece. And I’m not so skinny anymore (lean), and I’ve become much taller, got a girlfriend, more mature, better grades, and green belt in taekwondo. It doesn’t feel so long since 2020, it feels like it was yesterday but when I look back, much has changed!

God this song makes me think of 2015, when I was a freshman in high school and I decided to revisit my old elementary school that was an hours drive away. There was a small little garden area tucked in front of the school that the kindergarteners took their pictures in, and I stood in front of it. It was right up against a huge window pane and seeing my reflection of this kid who hadn’t been to this garden in 10+ years was surreal.
