    Nothing compares to the 69 year of a charger

    I have had the same dream. I kick myself for passing on a trade back in the early 90s for a white 1970 R/T with a 4 speed. It had rusty quarters with a lot of Bondo and it scared me off. The guy really wanted my big block Olds. Later on I acquired turbine rims and a 4 speed transmission from a 1969 Road runner. I planned on building a Charger around those parts, but it has not happened yet. I did however acquire my dream Corvette. A 1966 427 4 speed convertible with a hard top. We can't always have "every" dream car. 😅. The Dukes did it for me too. I still lust after the 1969 Charger. Congratulations on your purchase and enjoy every minute of it.

      Thank you for sharing! If you ever decide to let that trans go, please keep me in mind. I’d like to convert this car to a manual.

    I’m 56 years old and have a numbers matching 1969 Charger that I have had since I was 19 .It was originally green and is currently painted the same color yours is now. It’s a 383 car with ac,power brakes and steering . I’m a retired pipe welder and will start restoring it in the very near future. I paid 500 bucks for it and it was a blast to drive (it’s currently not running but would run with a little work). I would like to keep up with your restoration . I’m going to start a CZcams channel to document restoration. Congratulations on your purchase and you did not go wrong buying it . Have a great day . If you have any questions about anything please give me a shout (I’ve studied these cars a bunch)and I’ll ask you questions also if you don’t mind . Thanks for sharing and God bless.

    This is my first time watching your channel. I'll probably binge watch all of your charger up-loads. I also love a 2nd gen charger. I was told that the reason why the pentastar is on the passenger only is to show the car you're passing that they've just got taken by a MOPAR. That's the story that I always go with. Anyone else hear that story?

    I was in a similar boat about 3 years ago, I found this place out in Illinois that sells Classics, and I managed to get a decent deal / I did a pay as you go for three years, the guy honored our arrangement and I got to ship it out by a close friend of mine just recently and received the car in California and I will be starting my project soon! I’ve been waiting 28 years to pull the trigger, and I finally have my dream restoration 70 charger SE 318 / 727 Auto ! Since it’s a small block car I will be redoing it with a big block Mopar 440 CUI and converting it to a manual 4 speed Hurst and doing a R/T Clone job because I plan on keeping it…

    C😎😎L find...Back in early 90's, I fully restored a 69 Charger R/T 440 that I had since 1980 from the original owner...No rust issues..Came from Nevada.
    Back then, finding original brand new parts at swap meets and not getting ripped off was not an issue.
    I sure miss it. About 10 years later, sadly, I had to let it go on account of a young family and needed the money.
    One thing i noticed on the one you have...The front bumper has these middle bumperettes that comes over the bumper like the one I had.
    I have not seen those on all the 69 Chargers I looked at over the years...Maybe a super Mopar knowledgeable guy could explain why those are so rare....If you Google image a 69 Charger, there's only one with them on.
    Good luck with your project and keep us posted.

    Just bought a '69 Dart Swinger 340 out of Central, West Texas. Original owner transplanted a '68 RR 383 powertrain & the wider rear end (?), shackled it up..."Hill Billy hot rodding" circa 1979. Good news? AC car. Never smashed, all original panels only issue is where the water (bad pivot seals) pooled under the rubber floor cover. Did not pay "Charger" money for it, though. Right now it's got a new floor w/ manual trans tunnel & bucket seat plates, US Car Tool "Level 2" chassis stiffening, and a loads of parts coming.
    It's never going to be original, not really all that valuable in the collector world. They made a lot, they were the "Cheap-o" ride, and the numbers do not match. But, I will be worth more than what I have in it when I'm done. Have fun, your '69 Charger a great starting point

    A bit ruff but totally worth the investment of time and $. The 69's seem to be the most sought after lately. And when you're done you will know more about your car than you ever wanted to!

      Guys will love to share their opinions about what you "should" do with your car. It's your car, do what you want. But I'll offer this: my experience has been that the more radical the setup, the less likely I am to actually drive the car.

    Your better off putting a full quarter on the passenger side which will be much easier than fixing all the other areas and more importantly it incorporates the window corner section which is rotted out

    If you plan on having it media blasted you may find more problems but you have a good start for a project. I have looked for years to the point if I can find anything worth restoring it's going to be out of my price range let alone my skill level to do everything myself. Somewhere along the way, I did acquire a set of taillights for a 69 Charger that I have stored away for the last 25 years doubt I will ever have a car to put them in though.

    • @McdanielMotorsports
      @McdanielMotorsports  Před rokem

      Yeah, I’m too nervous to have it blasted. With all of the sheet metal in mostly great condition I’m happy doing it the good ol fashion hard way. At least I know they won’t get warped or ruined.

  • @michaelasher8084
    @michaelasher8084 Před rokem

    your in for a fun time just curious did you pay more than 10 for her. Mine l paid way too much under 20 though. Spent a year and a half putting floors, trunk,frame rails in the back and passenger side frame rail, rear quarter skins, brake and fuel lines, convert to disc brakes in front,rebuild engine and trans which match build sheet and quite a bit more. Driving the wheels off of her and really enjoying my car.

    Oh and another thing you want to look out for is Classic industries don't buy their arm rest for the front doors they are junk if you can salvage your original one try to do so. Very disappointed in mine going to try to find some on e-bay and die or paint them to match

    Starts out his video with the wrong idea for buying a classic 1969 Dodge Charger. Why does everybody have to buy a Charger and want to make it a clone of the General Lee?! God. There's enough General Lee clones out there people. SMH. Sighhhhh.
