    Thank you so much for the excellent video. The part I bought wasn’t as expected bought 201t and it should have been 201tc-m) and I had to transfer the old wiring harness to the new one and plug some adjustment holes back by the carb that the tc-m doesn’t have to keep debris out. Your video kept me from making matters a lot worse. 😂

    Dude....thank you for making this. I got one of these given to me in a box of parts. Similar situation with the handle. Helps me out a lot!

    Should I buy the part number on the bag or the part you put in? Thanks! Appreciate the tutorial. Especially the part about buying the assembly instead of the pieces.

      Yes, as long as it's an MTronic version. The non-MTronic has a different housing. The only thing the handle assembly doesn't come with is the throttle rod that hooks to the right side of the carb. I've seen them missing on a rare occasion depending how bad it's broken.

    Hi Richard,
    Can the ignition module also inspected with your multimeter? And what schuld be the readings?
    Thx in advance,
    Ramon

    I have one that won’t idle was wondering if it could be the wires in the handle or something on the carburetor

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  Před rokem

      If it's an older 201tc, it may be the fuel solenoid. Typically if there is a bad wire it won't run at all. It will just pop off and that's it. If the coil doesn't get a signal from the carb it shuts itself down.

      May also be a good idea to pressure and vacuum test it. It could be an air leak. Hard to say without having it on the bench.

    Is it possible to use non mtronic handle assembly with an mtronic chanisaw of this model

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  Před rokem

      Nope. The main reason is the non MTronic doesn't have the channels to run the wiring harness through the top handle. There are other differences, but this one is the real deal breaker.

      @Wakeupdud3 Před rokem +1

      @@richardflagg3084 I agree, I was just looking at that. Sure there might be a way to safely have it routed threw there but why go threw the trouble. I’ll just get the right handle assembly. Dealers over here. Don’t know what chainsaws are. Lol atleast the part department doesn’t

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  Před rokem +1

      @@Wakeupdud3 Good call. I didn't go through all the differences as there are many besides the wiring. Choke and throttle linkages, kill switch, air filter base etc. IIRC the part number is in the video. if not the Stihl part number is 1145 790 1024

      @@richardflagg3084 right now I have an ms200t that has been leak tested 10x lol, and no leaks not even when turning crankshaft it’ll hold 8.5 all day and vacuum, I set carb without limiters at 1 1/4 each and it won’t kick over, unless I spray some fuel into the carb, then it’ll run crazy for awhile until I take it off choke and squeeze the throttle and as soon as I do that it’ll die at high rpm, I blocked off that Welch plug already. Might need a new carb?
