I think the reason as to why chessington has allowed more visitors into the theme park compare to Thorpe and Alton is because they’re got a lot more rides then the other theme parks. However it is understandable that they should of really opened some of the rides earlier. I was there today, those coasters may be family rides but they felt so much more intense because I haven’t been on anything in so long. It’s unfortunate that Kobra was closed all day but it’s understandable and I still had a great time 😁 There was also a bay loader on the rides today as well

Another great vlog! After visiting Busch Tampa, Kentucky Kingdom, and Holiday world and observing different guidelines I would say things that are working well are virtual queues, getting rid of fast track, reservation requirements, temp checks, social distancing parties on rides, capping attendance, and social distancing from other parties on paths and at restaurants... Things that I think have not worked well have been full mask requirements all day, social distancing attempts in queues, closing most eateries, and full social distancing on rides and coasters even parties.
Wow. What's louder, a Maurer spinning coaster lift hill or Big Thunder Mountain lift hills 😂 all jokes aside, I love the little "pshew" noises Maurer spinners make 😂😂😂
The thing I absolutely love about chessington is that they have different themes within the park like wild asia and land of the tiger. I still love thorpe park and alton towers , but they only have ride themes not land themes.
I went there about 5 months ago as well. it was much better than I thought! the social distancing was good considering the situation, everyone had masks on and I was able to go on a decent number of the rides!

Love all the snippets of info you don't hear from other channels. Never been to or knew they had a spinball style coaster. Would be awesome to see a video about twinned rides..... Or just rides that found a new home (black hole, thunder looper etc). Didn't flamingo land have an identical corkscrew to alton towers at some point? Would love to know where.....if anywhere you'd have to go to ride that now. As much as I adore 13. Fantastic work as always, when I head back into the parks it'll be in large down to these videos, enjoy the Rd trip.
I don't know why Chessy is closing at 4pm for the rest of the season (according to their website) but I reckon it might be something to do with the fact that there's a Covid-19 testing station there, and they need to be able to operate that while the car park isn't full of cars, so that might be why they're closing early.
Great Video, Chessington has come a long way from a zoo and the Magic carpet ride from the 80s. We are all merlin pass holders and can’t wait to go again. Is it possible to maybe do a bit more about the food on offer at not just this park but others you visit and cost at recording etc?We normally have pizza pasta but that closed at the moment with just take away. I'm going their tomorow this has helped in what I should be expecting They don't let to many people in its lots of people around popular rides my favourite is vampire I go on it loads
They could just clean the rows that aren't being used then flip the skip and clean the other rows so they still get a runthrough before someone rides on them.
I must say that Ik this isn’t the Alton towers vlog but when in his Alton towers vlog it seemed as Alton towers was going to be very busy and different , but we went today and the whole day felt really fun and pretty much normal , queues where going faster Aswell 😊

Nice to see how the Parks are on top of the social distancing. Is it just me but every time i see the Gruffalo, I think of the Bubble works. I loved that ride, don't get me wrong its still is but for me the Bubble works and I am so glad that they kept the water fountains. Nice Vlog Shawn

I read in John Wardley's autobiography that he helped with the retheming of Chessington. And that's on top of helping with the rides at Alton Towers. He also created the animatronic Charlie Plucket so the vampire playing the organ might also have something to do with him.
These merlin parks really need to review their opening hours. It's fine with Blackpool because the park has short queues, but when the average wait time is as long as it is at these Merlin Parks they need to stop this charge as much as we can and open for as little time as we can get away with policy. I'll travel to Alton Towers but going all the way down to London for 6 hours opening just puts me off.
I agree. They charge an absolute rip off for how long you queue. I went to Alton towers last year and got on 4 rides. Average wait time was an hour and a half. We queued for 2 hours for smiler... Never used to be that bad when I was younger. It's definitely gotten worse and the prices have gone up and up
@@boycie18 I've definitely noticed it getting worse over the years. Parks in USA might be slightly more expensive but they have more attractions and are open for over 10 hours in most places. Its just not value for money in the UK.
