    Very cool! Ive got to check out that Fort in Copacabana. I considered staying in Botafogo. Does it seem safer there? If you mention the prices of some of the food you get, that would be helpful. Thanks for these videos! They are great!

    I stayed in Botafogo while I was in Rio and I love the neighborhood. Its a great location and that does make it easier for getting around. Have you been paragliding or hang gliding yet?

    • @slyslife

      Yeah, the location is solid and I haven't gone para/hand gliding yet. I'll probably do it in the future.

    Make sure you visit Rua Augusta when in São Paulo.
    Lots of clubs there
    It used to be a red district area 😂

      @@slyslifeOak Berry is the most commercialized Acai in Rio. You figure a lot of things out when you stay in an area an extended amount of time.

    Almost all açaí in Rio is good. Just prepare yourself if you ever try açaí in its natural form (ie, how they eat it in the north of the country, without sugar, and room temp, with a side of fried fish).
    If you make it to São Paulo, hit me up. I'll buy you a beer.

    So you was the guy from Ipanema instead of the girl? (that was a jazz music joke) Brazil use to be a military dictatorship so I am surprised you’re just coming across military stuff now. I’ve heard of açaí, but have never tried it myself. When you were in the local spots eating were you the only brother there sitting down(curious about how that scene looks in Rio when tourists are not around)? Good videos as always Sly👍🏾

    • @slyslife
      @slyslife  Před 2 lety +2

      I've seen a few military installations, but they are overshadowed by all the "tan lines' walking around 😅.. Also, yeah, I was the only brother there, but stuff like that doesn't bother me. I'm usually in my own world.

      The race thing is very different in Brazil, you won't feel the same pressure as in the US. It is forbidden to discriminate people over race, religion, gender, etc. It can render a few moths of jail and heavy fines. More than 50% of Brazilians are black or mixed anyway, so we don't bring skin colour subject to the conversation unless it is relevant to the topic. You will never hear "white people" jokes on TV. It is rude and ackward for us. Don't get me wrong, racism is huge in the country, but not in broad day light. It is hidden under job contracts, security measures, police behaviour, etc.
