I'm a retired U.S.Expat and I retired in Vitória Espirito Santo. I love it.
I retired to Taubaté São Paulo then bought a chácara in Santo Antônio Do Pinhal, SP. It's in the Mantequiea in between Sao Paulo and Rio De Janeiro and about 2 hours from Ubatuba. A perfect place to retire Beautiful nature in the mountains, friendly people, no traffic, great restaurants and no crime at all. And you can travel to worker the cities or the beach within a few hours and if you need some city life Taubaté had most of what you need, great hospital, 2 large malls, plenty of supermarkets, and quality medical care plus it's still pretty safe. Check it out!
HI. what areas in São Paulo has less crime?.

Curitiba or florianopolis@@pritsingh1436
You can live comfortably on 1000 dollars in São Paulo as long as you don't need health care.
Really?. im from Medellin... you think about same same pricing of living cost
I wouldn't say they have a stable political environment.
What's being political gotta do with retiring and enjoying life?
You are correct the corruption in Brazil is beyond ridiculous
I wouldn't say Trump's America has a stable political environment...
Jesus the AI mispronunciations are appalling.
HEY BUDDY, you are off on some pronounciations ;
Foz do Iguacu = Fauzzz do IG- GUA - SUE, a Brasilian C with the notch on the bottom sounds like an S, NOT a C
FORTALEZA and NATAL are very dangerous cities - most of the crime is from a large group of drug lords that moved there from Porto Alegre
RIO ? Are you kidding, the most dangerous city in S America !
Your estimates on how much it costs to live in these cities is WAY OFF, TOO LOW
Good video but I have one issue with your choice of best cities: Rio de Janeiro definitly is NOT a good place to live! You did not mention violence in the city and metro area! Murder rate in Rio is 300% higher than in São Paulo! And if you want to live near the beaches, prices are much higher than you mentioned! And transportation in Rio is bad and expensive by Brazilian standards! The proof that what I wrote is true is that the latest census showed thet many people are moving out of Rio's area! While Rio lost 300.000 inhabitants, the São Paulo area got 1 million more inhabitants! One reason is security, São Paulo is considered the safest state capital city of Brazil! For instance, the murder rate in São Paulo is just 5,8 per 100.000 inhabitants in 2024, in Rio it is 21! São Paulo's rate is lower than many big American cities!
I totally disagree. I'm a US retired expat living in Barra De Tijuca Rio de Janeiro. I live comfortably on $1500 a month with Oceanview apt. Rio is much more beautiful than Sao Paulo. As a senior I get free public transportation, I have free Condo bus, and I have never experienced any crime and I have lived here for 2 years. I am a beach person, so Sao Paulo would never work for me. And the weather is nicer in Rio than Sao Paulo, where you need a coat in the winter.
@@robertanichols8303 Your opinion is based on your choices! My opinion is based in the general data of Rio and SP! I'm also retired living in SP city. I also have free transportation in all the superb transportation system of São Paulo! Security is way better in SP! Rio had last year 300% more murders in Rio than here!! Our stats on crime are better than in most big American cities! Close to you at Barra, on the beach 3 medical doctors were shot and died not long ago! The medical services here are much better than in Rio! And the Saharian weather of Rio is terrible! SP's weather is more moderate, more agrreeable! I'm very happy with my choice!
RIO de Janeiro, the best city to live , if you choose Zona Sul !
E andar de colete a prova de bala perdida.
O que sobra no Rio de Janeiro é a fama internacional e a beleza que a cidade tem ,seu povo também é maravilhoso , mais para morar não é bom não muita malandragem em todos os aspectos......
Rio is not good to live by any means! Violence is rampant, people trying to fool you, the famous malandro carioca, terrible transportation and very high prices! The proof is the big amount of people from Rio and its surroundings leaving the area! According to the latest cencus, there are LESS 300.000 thoussand inhabitants in the area!
@@joseluciocorrea1866 Ok, but nobody cares about your opinion.
@@fabiogates It's not just an opinion, it's FACTS, well known facts that you omitted in your crass ignorance! And besides of being very ignorant you are arrogant - if you post in a public forum like this one, you are subjected to be proved wrong! As you don't have an answer you come with empty arrogance! !KKKKKK!
Computer generated voice & pronunciation is awful.
Its a shame & embarrassing that Brazil is infested with poverty high crime rate & corruption in spite of being an oil producing country (Petrobras) & so rich in natural resources they say Philippines is a poor corrupt country but Manila's slums pale in comparison to Rio's immense favelas
