Love this! When will we get another farmhouse tour đ
Do you harvest dandelion weeds for their greens and the flowers for tea? If so could you please tell us how you do so.
Do you think you could make a video specifically covering the details of your irrigation system? In your gardens as well as pastures..fruit trees..
Absolutely Beautiful ! Just My Style love it, new subscriber from West Virginia.
If the growth rate of your Magnolia is less than the expected rate in your area, them maybe you should check out the roots, they may have problems you need to take care of.
I love your âlooseâ garden style. Itâs so relaxing. Nothing kills a peaceful gardening experience quicker than the stress of trying to keep it perfect.
Yeah I like this kind of loose gardening to. This is what I think I have gong in my garden. Too many gardens not enough time to weed. I just started posting videos of my garden in Virginia. I'm not sure where she is. Nice hills tho that's for sure.
Always Doing Something Great! Iâll have to check you out. You can see my garden and other interesting things on my channel.
@@alwaysdoingsomething1290 I believe that she is in Washington State.
@@rebeccah8912 The setting is so beautiful!
Exactly, itâs impossible to deal with all the weeds .
I used to spend every spring, summer and fall in my gardens and it made me so happy! Iâm 70 now and my arthritis has caused me to retire from spending so much time in nature. But I can truly say....it brought me great contentment and peace and I treasure the memories!!!
I have just started, 35, inspired by Elliott and it's my favorite part of the day. I truly will never stop. I'm sorry you retried. Try buying already established plants. I love my plants more than people. Lol
Myrna Renoud maybe you could sprinkle some seeds and see if they take đ
Hi Myrna. I'm 73 & have arthritis too, so I know what you mean. I have found some nutrients that really help me. For years I took OTC pain meds, every 3 or 4 hours, until I learned that they can do some damage to our organs, so did some research.
Also, I'd met someone who'd recommended taking some form of Chondroitin, which I took with reasonable improvement for a few years, which you might get help from. Then eventually, I settled on a very good combination for myself - which anyone could take, even without arthritis, to help with aches & inflammation, & even just to reduce stress. It's like a miracle combination, really. Now I only rarely take OTC meds, like if I've overdone things & need something for an aching back or a pain in my once badly wrenched shoulder, or the like.
What I have found helped me with very painful finger joints - which used to become inflamed, red, hot to the touch, & swollen. Pain pills can only help for a few hours. MSM helps with reducing inflammation & much more. It's good to take for anyone, to improve the body's ability to cope with life's stresses - physical & emotional. I also take HA - Hyaluronic Acid to help actually heal & rejuvenate the disks.
I take a good multi, almost daily, & MSM & HA together, usually every few days, but at 1st I'd recommend taking daily so they can help long enough to begin to heal / rebuild your joint tissues. If I go about 2 weeks without them, my finger joints start hurting again, reminding me I have arthritis in a few finger joints. Imagine...after being on OTC meds for years, which would wear off after a few hours, & it didn't heal the source of the pain at all. Now I go for days without pain, even if I forget to take them, but it's probably better to be more consistent, for best results. Maybe these could help you too. It freed me from years of chronic pain & limitation.
If you try these, buy good brands to insure good quality. Do your research & see what you think. I've never had any negative side effects. I've seen MSM recommended if you've had a trauma, a bad argument, lost a loved one or a job, had a heart attack or surgery, a car accident , etc, as it helps protect us from the stress that comes with life events. They both help heal in their own ways.
HA actually helps to rehydrate the disks between the joints so they are plumped up as they should be to help prevent that bone on bone pain when we do not keep ourselves hydrated & as we age. I do still eat salt which can dehydrate but only rarely have alcohol. I'm more of a tea & coffee drinker. I guess coffee can be dehydrating too, especially if instant, but I don't drink it often, & make perked when I do.
I'd avoid artificial sweeteners. Too much sugar, & especially over processed white flour often are a cause of inflammation, so look at making changes in your diet if that seems appropriate. Not being in pain all the time is like being given your life back! Hope this helps.
"Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is also called dimethyl sulfone, DMSO2, methyl sulfone, and many other names. MSM is an organic sulfur found in fruits, vegetables, grains, and milk as well as the urine of animals. It is an oxidation product of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and a source of sulfur for producing the amino acids methionine and cysteine. MSM is a water soluble white, odorless, crystalline compound that contains 34% elemental sulfur.
Methylsulfonylmethane reduces pain, inflammation, and allergic reactions. It also has wound healing, dermatologic, and exercise performance increasing effects."

HA is Hyaluronic Acid. It helps heal joints, & anything else in your body. It is now being used as an ingredient in rejuvenation creams, & in surgeries too. A friend told me a friend of hers who was about to have a knee surgery had been given HA injections directly into her knee joint by her Dr. to help prepare for the surgery.
You can get more detailed info on HA here:

Cheryl Anderson I read your comment to Myrna and I to have arthritis and love to garden. I appreciate you taking the time to deliver such an informative answer to Myrnaâs pain. I will do the research and check this out for myself as well. Anything to help with pain and not take OTC meds. My husband and I did the Keto foods for a couple of years and completely removed sugar and breads (heavy Carbs) from our diet and it was amazing how good I felt, no joint pain or stiffness after getting all that sugar out of my system. But I have allowed to let sugar creep back into my diet. You know additions to sugar is a hard habit to break. But I have promised myself that I will break the habit and return to health eating again.
Nature make us happy and sometime I eat also in the garden so relaxing
I've never Seen as much rain as this year in Wales UK. Monty Don is our National Favourite gardener So unusual to hear about so many cottage plants outside of UK Makes me appreciate my chaotic garden x
Itâs great to hear that you watch Monty Don in the US as Gardeners World is my favourite weekly programme here in the UK.
I too have a beautiful garden in Somerset, Uk and during lockdown it has been our sanctuary. Weâve had a long hot summer too with very little rain and our summers have been like this now with climate change so Iâm having to adjust my planting to suit these conditions.
I just wish that your cameraman showed us around the garden and the ones that you're pointing to. Not just focusing on you.
@@dw309 lol stop simping. Her topic is the garden not her beauty. It's a garden tour after all.
@@Potsky_ simping? Iâm not even going to google it. But, thanks for your opinion about my opinion. đđ»
I've seen this with other photographers too., & also felt frustrated, as they move the camera so fast I can't see anything in focus....Ugh. They may not be as nutty as we are about seeing the plants in focus, & up close for more detail.
Seriously!!
I agree, I would enjoy if on the editing, I listen to her voice talking while the video show us the garden
I would like to see the garden as you explain.
This is my style of gardening, I love the wild, natural feeling of it. My husband is a general contractor so he loves straight lines and I have a hard time explaining to him what I mean by a cottage garden lol
I love the mix of plants, and how your kids sprout up in the middle of things and mingle with the plants and creatures. Your videos are always a pleasure.
Leslie Cronin I agree. The garden, the kids, and how she explained everything, a wonderful and beautiful tour.
You have a mysterious and magical looking entry leading to your kitchen door and you are surprised everyone wants to go that way? đ
I would love just a slow, long walk through of these gardens...so amazing, and lush. Something early morning or late evening, just the nature noises and sights of the beauty you've curated. Wow. Thank you so much for sharing!
I am from England and my passion is looking at cottage gardens. Your cottage garden far surpasses many I have seen. You have an amazing eye for plants but better than that you feel the beauty within you and thats what creates your spaces xxx
I'm like, next year I'm planting that; I'm planting that..and those, oooo yes and them! So nice. Beautiful space, beautiful plants, loved the tour. đđđ
I loved all your info!! Wonderful inspiration (Wished though the camera would zoom in on what you were talking about)
I love that, your In-perfect garden lines is what makes your garden so Perfect. Your gravel pathways all lead to another beautiful area. Itâs like the Secret Garden. Your garden truly looks like itâs been there for many years so Beautiful. I always look forward to your videos. I love that your so down to earth. Have a wonderful week.đžđ·đŠđ
I love your style of gardening it's really nice
I'm a writer, and all I want to do is just sit in your shade garden and type away. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing both footage and the names of flowers that work well in various spaces. It helps generate ideas for my own shady places. God bless you and your family.
Beautiful video as usual. A gardener told me once that the first year you plant perennials they weep, they second year they creep and the third year they leap. It's very true. I would love more slow walks down the paths showing each side.
I adore the look of your gardens. Itâs amazing how quickly my own gardens have developed in just two years. Please please share mores of how you design them. Thanks
It's a wonder to me how you have managed to turn a place that's considered High Desert into this lush jungle bursting with life and color and beauty everywhere. And a stream...and now a pond! Wow! Certainly not what I would have dreamed possible in a place that's crazy cold in winter, crazy hot in summer and super dry as well. (I'm glad you have a good well!) You all must have incredible imaginations to be able to envision what things will look like after the changes are put into place as well as an incredibly good work ethic to get 'er done!
What a lovely tour...thoroughly enjoyable! Well presented, good camera work and editing, and your gardens are absolutely stunning. Thank you. Such a pleasure!
i was thinking the same, from the air and the birds view it must be a little oasis of lushness... lol
Would have liked the camera to pan on the wysteria over the pergula and the other vining plant mentioned going up side of house. Beautiful gardens!
Exactly! She was talking about how beautiful it was & there was someone on the camera, I couldn't believe they didn't pan out! Wierd..
More than likely because they aren't in bloom. So it would just be vines. Grant you, it still would be nice to see, but when they are not blooming, you wouldn't think about it!
I gave up after a few mins because it was just talking and not touring or showing anything, got a bit impatient :| The start of it literally had me dozing off.
@@angelkotilainen no content is suited for every type of viewer. This is definitely my cup of tea. Slow paced and peaceful. If it irritates you go somewhere else, it's that simple. I love this channel! From the first watch
True, I'm sure it is a beautiful garden just from the few glimpses we got. But that is the main weakness of this video piece. Much description and emotional leading without the associated visuals. Instead the camera is pointed mostly on her. We get to view a few close-up frames without their orientation to the landscape. It was too frustrating to watch this.
You have a very beautiful garden! I was stressed with work today. So in order to de-stress, I just decided to watch your video. By the end of it, I was calm and relaxed. Your voice and style are very therapeutic!
I had a pergola my husband built and I put wisteria at both ends of it. It was there for 14 years when I moved away and we never had any problems. I'm sure as time passed we might have had to replace a piece here and there but I loved it and it was so worth it.
Thank you, Shaye. I love the garden tours. Trying to create my own after years of dreaming. At 65 I sometimes think Iâll throw in the towel, but some dreams are hard to let go of. The other day was one of those days and by the end of the day when it cooled down I was planning again. đ Harvey said just take it one area at a time, but I want it all NOW. I guess thatâs where the patience comes in đ„Ž I like the softer color pallets as well. However, when we go to the nursery it seems like Harvey picks out the warmer colors. I canât tell him No because he rarely says anything, so, I will plant and be happy because it pleases him and pulls in the bees, hummingbirds and butterflies. I figure itâs okay for him to add his little tweak here and there to the painting. After all, he did build me that fabtabulous greenhouse and put in timed tube irrigation. Thank you for the inspiration. đ
I have to hand water a lot of places here in southern Calif. Yes, ten minutes a day but city water. The other day, I stepped into the front yard and all I could smell was chlorine from the city water. When it does rain here, the plants just explode with growth. Thank you for the lovely tour. xxx
Hi Shaye, I am new to your channel and really enjoyed my âvisitâ. đ€ Your garden tour was lovely. Thank you for sharing it with us. Love, Mary â€ïžđ€â€ïž

Thoma White - Hi Thoma, Thank you SO much!! Love, Maryâ€ïžđ€â€ïž
Love you, too, Mary!
I second this! New here and LOVING IT, Shaye!
Beautiful cottage style gardens! ...but I was disappointed that we weren't shown a legitimate potager garden which was the reason I was watching.
Your garden is lovely. I wish you would have shown a view with the whole garden, house included.
Yeah! Elliottâs love walking through your gardensâ€ïž
The term "Cottage" garden comes from the gardens of tenant farmers on the large estates in England. The tenants did not own their own land so anything they wanted to grow had to be grown on whatever space surrounded their cottages. So food, flowers, herbs and medicinal plants were all thrown in together. Thus was born the wonderful "Cottage" garden.
Soooo true! My garden actually only has wild grown flowers and hers because I like to be surprised. It gives me a ton of new inspirations for my kitchen witchery recipes. I see them grow, I learn about it and then I harvest
Your helping me reach my dream, one year at a time! So enjoyable to watch the progress. Thank you!
9:28 - the pan-over in the shade garden... Oh my, the colours were so deliciously beautiful đ
This video was so relaxing...and your gardens are very lovely. I like the cottage style, everything growing into each other and melding..colors and textures. I like the controlled wildness of it. It reminds me of a meadow. You live in a beautiful area. Thank you for the tour.
Love this video ,you are such an inspiration to me ,sometimes people dont understand out type of gardening ,but it's the most beautiful ,and calming ,the love of growing flowers ,and vegetables together is so lovely and rewarding ,it always makes me feel close to the heart of God.!Thank you love you and your sweet family.
This brings me such joy and inspiration. This is cottage garden GOALS! A riot of colors and life! âĄâĄ

Iâve been listening to the podcast just waiting for more videos (I donât currently have Instagram..Iâve been working on a little thing called contentment and cutting social media out for a bit has done wonders) đ you and Angela are my favorite content creators by far. Youâve changed my life!!
Valerie hello
To have gardens as beautiful and successful as yours is a dream.
Everything is looking SO beautiful !!
I love your cottage gardens. I use to have one at our last place, but right now, we have no flower gardens. We recently retired and have lots of catch ing up to do in our yard. We were away working for 7 years so that is why. I am excited to start collecting plants from my neighbours and buying some for next years plantings. Thank you for your videos. There is nothing better than making a latte and curling up and watching you.
Shaye, the gardens look incredible!! Iâll be watching this several times as I create cottage gardens here â€ïž
Simply beautiful! I can feel the peace in the gardens!
Thank you, everything is so beautiful!
I just discovered your channel today and it makes me so happy, the cooking, your chill, the house is to be lived in and the children doing there own stuff, but you can feel and see you guys are there if they need anything or want to share a story. I think this is how a family and a home should be, and I am in love. Greatings from the Netherlands
Truly beautiful..... an amazing inspiration!!
Yay, a new video from Shaye! Loving your podcast with Angela toođ You two are my inspiration for future homemakingâ€ïž Love from Oklahoma!
Beautiful, Shaye. Itâs getting even lovelier with each passing season!
Thank you for the inspiration, just what I needed getting a little overwhelmed with my weeds and projects. Your videos are always a delight đ·
U did an excellent job giving your tour. I recently had to move away but my previous home where I had 12 huge gardens and had been working them for 18 years. I miss them so much and I hope u never have to leave your beautiful gardens.
Would be cool to have a drone footage to see how you have it laid out. Thanks
:) MIke
I just trim our wisteria, and I've never had a problem.
If you have a shady side of the house, a climbing hydrangea is one of my favorites! The way they climb, the lacey blossoms, and the leaves are the most elegant thing!
You have wonderful rustic & âfreeâ cottage garden! đ„°

Love your garden and your voice! So calm.
I loved every minute of it !
Your garden is so beautiful this year! Itâs really maturing and becoming that quintessential cottage garden. Monty would be proud!
I had such a wonderful time walking through your garden...Thank you.
Looks amazing.
Lovely flow and rhythm to your planting and just way of being, thank you for sharing with us
Your gardens are always so inspiring and beautiful, it was so nice seeing how everything is coming along. I enjoy Monty Donâs gardening as well! đ Thanks for the beautiful garden tour! đž
What a beautiful tourđ thank you so much . I love the colors..the sweet glimpses of your littles..the entryway and courtyard with that beautiful blue door.

Wow, that was so much fun! I'm trying to gather up enough strength to turn my back yard into a garden.
Yes, English roses are mine favorites too!
I love this garden. I'm getting so many good ideas from your tour. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful people creating beautiful gardens. Nice.
Your garden is whimsical and beautiful. â€
What is that gorgeous white flower at minute 20:00, I MUST HAVE! I'm amazed that so much grows with so little rainfall. Watering then is a big chore.
Donna Courtney Maybe Angelica?
Hy me love to much a rustic cottage gardens, and I tried to make the mine. I love this white flower, I sure that is umbelifera family, but I don't know what concrete specie is!!!
Very beautiful gardens. Everything is really growing good . Thank you for showing us around. Love this video. Have a wonderful day.
What a beautiful garden, you remind me of myself when I was young with young children in Australia, I loved my garden. Now I am gardening in California and we have the hot summers and the cold winters and no rain. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Iâm a new subscriber.
Love everything about this garden and the presentation. Thank you!!!!
Gorgeous! I love that cottage feel!!
I've watched this garden tour so many times and every time I draw new inspiration. Thanks Shaye, your gardens are truly amazing.
Me too đ
My favorite channel on CZcams, hands down! Love you guys :)
Enchanted garden. Lovely.
That's my style too. I love the layed back cozy, comfort over sharp hard lines and severe perfection most people tend these days. Although I love a zen garden I may incorporate its not the only way. My mom and I would make ponds I managed 3 it was fun. I definitely love a purposeful garden to strol through, that's my goal. What a blessing. I also hate the idea of mowing and acre of yard, I'd much rather make it useful and be an environment for bees, butterflies ect and for berries and fruit. I want a plum tree for my hubby. Berries for my kids and grape arbor/pears for me. đ
I LOVED the tour....itâs just so very inspiring. Thank you!
Thank You! It's magnificent!
Thank you for the lovely garden tour. A little slice of Heaven! We just built a large carport to the walk-in basement.
Your entry is giving me ideas for planting around it. Also the Hollyhocks were my grandmother's favorite. I have them at our main farm and will plant some at our house.I did not realize the term for mixing flowers, herbs and vegetable plants together was a Protege' Garden. I just referred to mine as an unstructured garden. Enjoy all your different gardens and projects this summer! Thank you again. ~ Diane
Very beautiful...thanks for sharing your garden!
So appreciate the effort you all put into the upper desert! We live in a lower desert so plants can be similar but half the size here. The drying summer winds do damage but fall/winter/spring the plants are happy...right now they are slowing and almost in a sleep mode. We came from Indiana 3 years ago so have learned a lot about soil, irrigation and plants. Very interesting. I agree with your suggestion to start with pots as they can be moved around. Thank you for w beautful tour. D. in Las Vegas
The light and sky look like a painting!
I love your garden, my dream garden, so much plants there to enjoy.
Literally! Amazing. You give so much inspiration and you are so big example to me!!!! Thankyou so much!!
I just found you when Jennifer L. Scott interviewed you! I love your garden! I too have a cottage garden; full of roses, Hydrangeas, Lilies, etc. it's growing in wild abandon! I don't use any herbicides either and it's starting to be a little hard to keep up with it all (we've been here 26 years) but thankfully my husband is retired now, and we work in it a lot. I also love Monty Dawn!
The gardens are looking wonderful Shaye!
I just love your garden's.â€
So beautiful and peaceful!!! Thanks for sharingđŒđžđŒ

Everyday I watch your video channel catching up what I missed I love your garden and your idea God Blessâ€ïž
I just found your channel. You have a beautiful garden. If you can get your magnolia to mature you'll love the flowers. My mom and step dad planted one on the south side of their house in Texas about 20 years ago and now it's so tall that they almost can't reach the lower flowers without a ladder, but they're huge and smell wonderful.
