- “We helped our clients’ spend the money on the important things,” says Tamara Robbins Griffith, principal designer at Kerr + Field Interiors. Together with Jessica Dybenko, this design duo transformed their client’s dark and dated main floor into an open-concept oasis, creating a functional layout for a busy family and their dog. See where they splurged - and saved - from adding custom millwork and a built-in banquette to preserving an original staircase with a coat of Benjamin Moore’s Wrought Iron paint.

6:02 It's clear that the spindles were replaced on the stairs. The stairs were not just repainted and given a runner.
Why is the tv so high above the fireplace? It’s way above eye level.
Its not just paint on stairs, the banister spindles are all new
Lovely work, for sure. But I thought the editing of this video was choppy and i wondered if it was intentional. Could never see the room from all angles or the whole room. Was that deliberate? I also think that what would enhance all your videos is that, after showing elements of each room, the video then takes us from the entrance to the the rest of it so that we can get a sense of the the flow of the entirety. Just try watching this video without sound and you will see what I mean.
THANK YOU for not putting in a kitchen island. The peninsula is a creative and wonderful use of space. The kitchen is open and spacious, which is refreshing.
What a beautiful reno. Very thoughtful, light, uncluttered and great to look at! Very family-friendly.
I'm a fan of peninsulas instead of islands. Love the kitchen and dining...
Beautiful work ladies. Love this kitchen & all the storage. Love that they chose a color for the banister & railings instead of white, off white, beige or black.
Nice remodel! Love seeing a little color with the blue and rust and not just beige and natural tones.
Simple. Clean. Easy to live with.
love the microwave cubby and mix of open shelves with the cabinets
So nice to see pot lights taken out!
Absolutely loved seeing the transformation unfold! Tamara and Jessica's design decisions were spot on, creating a space that's not only stylish but also perfect for a busy family. So impressed! 😍
W o w !!! I like it . ❤️White ,light ,modern and practical. Bravo,ladies !!!👏👏👏
Having the tv THAT high is DIABOLICAL
I love the lights they use in the house esp in the dining area.
The renovation output created a beautiful and more functional space for this home. 😍😍
2:40 to 2:46 MY FAVORITE PART OF THE HOUSE 😄🖤😄
She’s so cute 😍
Floors look great, however if you talk to any flooring/hardwood contractor, refinishing hardwood is almost always cheaper than replacing, in addition to being more sustainable. Not the other way around as was mentioned in this video. 6:21
BEAUTIFUL transformation!!!
Just beautiful! What a great job you did 🎉🎉🎉. Now the home is bright and classy! Keep it up!
Great job. I just wish they would have made a recess for the tv so it sat flush with the wall. Put it on a bracket that you can pull out and swivel. I would go back in and do that. It also gives you the option to hang art in front of tv if you can’t afford the tv that is disguised as art (Samsung frame tv for example)
Love this renovation!
Amazing transformation❤
Beautifully done.
beautiful
Love it!
Muy bonita!
Those grey tiles near the entry door looks great - I am sure it feels great too - Granite/marble ?
I love the hooks in the entryway!! Where did you get them? 🙏🏽
Love the black kitchen hardware, can anyone identify it? 😍
Dark blue couch ? 😮 Was that to "remember" the old darkness in the house ?
Discount contactor tiles to keep the owner busy cleaning grouts.
how much?
Nice but why ha v e you left the fridge sticking out instead of panelling it. Also the tone of the kitchen floor resembles the orangey 90s tone. I think better hardware in the kitchen would elevate the room. Kitchen looks a little cheap and dated.
Why there is a bench/banket again? It is not comfortable. Canadian designers are pushing benches. Have feeling they got a deal.
I love the colors of the kitchen; they're very calming. However, they should have put the microwave behind a cabinet door. No one wants to see the microwave. The dog food should be in a closed container. Additionally, I don't like all of the open shelving in the family room. Open shelving collects dust and makes a room look cluttered. Also, the TV is hung way too high. It should be at eye level when sitting down on the sofa.
They are integrated USB right on the table. All charging stations have to be hidden out of view.
Wouldn't be my choice. But nice
Calming color palette but feels a bit like an apartment? Wish they had paneled the stainless fridge, dishwasher and put the microwave in a cabinet so that the entire kitchen would look more seamless, custom, timeless and therefore more high-end! Also surprised by their divided sink choice! I really hate those!
TV wall is very bad. TV is way to high and not flash with a wall. Should use Samsung flat installation. And all these open cheap shelves around again. What is a deal with ooen shelves?
it's cute if extremely generic
The house doesn’t have character
Was no need to do a corner kitchen corner kitchen never looks good. Should be just linear and no open shelves. Open shelves look cheap and messy. Bad solution.
You should have built a closed closet in the enteace. Nobody wants to see hanging coats. You are wasting space.
