- Insane $100 LUXURY Nepal Airbnb
In this video, we take a tour of the apartment we are staying in here in Lalitpur just south of Kathmandu in Nepal. This unbelievable property is super modern with a contemporary style and made us feel like we were at home straight away. The area surrounding it is not as touristy as Thamel so you get a far more local feel to the area while at the same time being just a few kilometres away.
We then head to the bazaar not far from the apartment to try a Tibetan dish called Laphing, a cold noodle dish containing chilli paste and soy beans.
Finally, we pick up some supplies including rice, lentils and spices to make our very own Dal Baht.

16:00 In Nepal, For Chillis, When you buy Some Vegetables, Specially Tomato you get some Chilli for free. Thats why she said no for the money. Thats common for the sellers in nepal
😮😮😮 no way! That explains it 😅
It's like 7pounds per kilo in the UK. I am from Nepal and never dare to buy green chillies in the UK.
They dont give it for free when buying other veggies. Since you bought a less amount of chilly, it cost very little so they give it free
@@fitnessnepal7726 it depends on the sellers attitude
Spices aren’t hard to find in Nepal! You can find them in literally any common grocery store here. Really enjoyed the video, hope you have a great stay in Nepal 🇳🇵 !
Thank you, we'll keep our eyes open
@@adamandyaz It's just that when you ask for "spices", most don't know what you're asking for. It's not a word we use for the varieties of spices. 😂 just ask for 'masala', 'chili powder', salt, and whatnot. And too much turmeric my dude. No one uses over 1 teaspoon in daal.
Starting @13:55 is where they had a bunch of spices. Subji masala means it's a combination of several spices made to be put in subji (i.e., vegetables). The shop owner did not understand, I guess.
When I see videos like this I so wish I was there so that I could help you with navigating the market, communication, etc. But I think doing that on your own is the whole point and charm of exploring as tourists for you guys. I love your candid and raw presentation. Great job guys! P.S. Samosas are my favorite :)
That would have been super helpful haha! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Chicken gravy is missing and thanks for loving our food dal bhat = power 24 hour
We’re vegan so technically it’s not missing 😂
Potato was missing
But there has to be at least one curry, veg or non veg and achaar with dal bhat. It's not literally just dal and bhat!! We Nepalese never eat dal bhat literally empty without curry ever. The curries and achar give flavor to dal bhat otherwise its just bland.
@@shovanabajracharya I do.. and i m nepalese..
@@ajuhapa4190 You're a weird case.
Actually, lintel should cook in a pressure cooker or a cooktop, that way it will be done in 15 to 20 minutes. when you cook in a regular pot it takes hours to cook, to reduce the cooking time you can soak the lintels overnight if you don't have a pressure cooker. Overall, you guys did amazing.
I couldn't have imagined an ultra-modern air bnb like this in Nepal. The $100 per night is an absolute steal for this property. I am sure people will pay $200 per night for this property and would not regret it.
I love that you guys are enjoying Nepal and experiencing the true essence of Nepal and nepali culture. Keep it real Adam & Yaz. Much Love from Nepal.
P. S. Thanks for showing the beauty of Nepal via your travels. I think more people need to come to experience the himalayan serendipity.
I usually Don't comment but after looking at your vlogs really you guys promoting our cultures and there might be some awkward situation as well for foreigners but the way you guys presenting every places in vlogs are awesome..thank you so much for your well warming and kind vlog for nepal 🇳🇵 🙌 ...hoping for you guys to have more subscribers all around the world the way for your genuine informative vlogs 🌎 ♥️...
I didn’t understand why everyone criticizing them not having veggie. But I am very impressed how you guys enjoy cooking n eating dal bhat. It would be much faster cooking dal in presser cooker though.
US$100 accommodation looks stunning only thing missing was a mountain view...
Yaz is so cute, getting all giddy before digging in! Lol. I know that exact feeling :D
Nice to see foreigners enjoying NEPALI FOOD especially dal vat 😌 keep it up ... Lesh hit 100k soon 🙂🤞☺️ love you'll 😌🎉
I just feel like I wish someone could take you to take to some amazing and local places !
Gr8 to watch Ur video ; Love 💗 From Nepalese people 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
$100 is a VERYY big amount. Dollar value has been undervalued all over the world which makes people think they can’t buy luxury with that amount. Enjoy Nepal!
Love from 🇳🇵, Nepalese now in 🇶🇦....
Watching from Lalitpur Nepal
Enjoy your trip ☺️
So glad to see you enjoying your time in Nepal
I’m so glad that u guys actually tried making a DalBhat woohoo even though u’re out of any curry and obviously, bc no more veggies at the grocery. But still, I like the efforts that u cuties made and smartly. We love comfort yet savings is important too. Cheers!
Loved this video. Your content shows variety especially your vegan preferences. Its educational. Glad that I kept up with the channel eversince that first Philippine vlog and not be influenced by detractors saying this couple are complaining too much but its the opposite way around. Hope they get more subscribers
Lot's of love from chitwan Nepal❣️
And again thanks for visiting Nepal
Hope you have great times in Nepal✨
For fastest cook you need pressure cooker for daal. In three four whistle daal is ready.😊😊
U guys are creative 🙏🙏🙏👌👍🇳🇵
I carry a camping knife, fork and spoon set so I never have to use my hands. When people question me I nicely say it is my culture and they respect that
You guys are so good. Wish i could tutor you to cook a good nepalese cuisine. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ enjoy have a goodday
Thanks for showing positive things about Nepal. Absolutely love to host you guys if you have time in Nepal left.
I love watching you both having fun together Adam & Yaz. It's bit kinda weird for the first time though you guys tried well.
Love you guys.

Beautifully captured, loved watching your experience ❤️
You guys are amazing. I was born in nepal but i came to US when i was young. I am trying to take a vacation there. Please do not stop uploading.
Pro tip from a chef, use hotter oil for the papad. It should cook faster and then it will be less oily as well. It is brave to cook different types of food! Practice eating with your hands it gets better and easier! Mix the dal and rice together more and pick up a bite size ball in your fingers and push it towards your mouth with your thumb. Happy Travels
Yeh we had a feeling about the oil but we got really impatient and hungry 😆 thank you so much for watching!
alots of love frome nepal,🙏🙏🙏🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🙏🙏
would love to host dinner for u guyz traditional newari food 😇
love the way you put your finger to measure rice:)
The only way 😆
You should cook Daal in pressure cookers to cook it faster. And that's the yellow daal you bought, and there are black daal and other types as well. And you're definitely missing vegetables and curry.
Definitely pressure cooker next time. We didn't want to make too much food just the main bit 😃
But it will be more delicious if you added a bit vegetables curry and its good half cheper than you eat outside of home 😀😀
You two are awesome. Thanks for sharing this stuff. :)
Oh God ..really proud of you guys ..please visit Bhaktapur Durbar square also
Nice to see my hometown "Pimbahal, Patan" in your vlog. Have a wonderful time ahead and enjoy your Nepal Vacation :)
I love the second floor! Definitely would stay!!
This is so much fun to watch you guys enjoying cooking..I want to see more of this kinds of videos..please make next time momo or Pani puri...
You can get puri in packet where you can make it in oil like papad..and make Pani with masala you found in market and for paste make potato and use masala and make it..
We actually have a video of us making momo! 😃 ⬇️

Try thakali set dalbhat 😜
Dal bhat looks perfect!!
Thank you!! Haha
Its was fun to watch!
nepalese people's always give respect fir Out country people's !!🇳🇵🇳🇵
Hey Guys glad you made your own daal bhat and yes of course papad. Just a tip: next time before you cook your lentils remember to soak it in water for about an hour but if you have pressure cooker you're good to go. Lovely watching your video guys. Have fun 👏🙏
Thank you for visiting nepal kooing dal bhat and testing.
Thank you for watching 😃
Your vibe is so amazing and you both are really amazing cooks. I was worried about some stones in your dal and bhat, we usually have to screen them out before cooking. Also i believe you guys didn't cook vegetables because you couldn't buy it. In that case you can just make some omelette to go with dal bhat. Also you can make papad (popadum) without oil. Just put them on low flame( directly on the flame) and bask them on both sides, taste will be a little different but its still good.
We gave the lentils a really really good rinse before but didn't show it. We had no idea you could put it straight on the flame! 😯 Much healthier, we'll try that next time. Thank you for watching! 😃
@@adamandyaz you can also microwave the papad! Though I'm the only one i know that likes it. Does get cooked though.
@@barryallen8987 we did try that and it definitely didn’t come out too good haha
Finally a vlogger who is not scared to spend money in Nepal. It is so nice to see.
Most foreigners pay 1K USD in Europe but haggle for 5 USD in poorer countries.
They are not just other normal tourists from west.. they are bri..ish.

Love you guys and thankyou for visiting nepal
Really nice, good to know👍👍, thanks
You guys are active. Love it.
It would be the perfect Nepalese meal if you had also prepared some vegetables. I loved your video, by the way.
We need more tourists like you, travel as tourist, enjoy the moments like locals. Is it £ 100 per night ?
You need to have potato and achar it will change the taste but still it looks delicious 😋
U guys r really amazing 😻 ❤️❤️🇳🇵
U guys really Cooked Nepali dish your self awesome. U should cook Spanish too easy to cook. Enjoy 🙏
Thank you for visiting ❤️
I really like your videos !
Dal is supposed to be cooked in a Pressure Cooker(a cooking pot that traps the water vapor and cookes the food inside relatively very fast). Since dal is a cereal that is rather hard compared to rice hence takes a lot of time if cooked in the pot like you guys used.
the only thing that is missing is some vegetable curry or side dish and chutney.
Damn! The vegetable is finished.......
18:01, perfect !! now you have everything..:) have fun.:)
When i first tried laphing i hated it so much but the more i tried the more i like it. You should try keema noodles too.
The chillies are complementary, that’s normal in Nepal😉
Ah that makes sense 😅
Same here now i m so addicted 😆
Me too !! I hated it at first but it’s flavors brought me back to eat again
Such beautiful couple.god bless you both
Thank you so much for trying nepali food.
Dal bhat.
you guys are so cool💜
nice to see u guy's make nepali food by yourself
Adding Vegetable or mushroom would have been amazing.
You should be able to find pre packed masala such as meat masala that u can also add in vegetable curries. We even bring them over from Nepal to the UK
Even though they say “Daal Bhat power” in Nepal … Nepalese don’t just eat Daal and Bhat .. it’s Daal (lentil), bhat (rice), tarkari (curry based meat and or veggies), saag (green leafy veggies) and aachar (pickles) .. with addition of papad, curd/yogurt, salad etc.
I’ve seen it in many countries where a rice is eaten just with Daal.. but in Nepal - there’s at least a curry/tarkari and aachar with it ..
anyways, good try !! The Daal looks yummy 🤤!!
you usually cook daal and rice in a pressure cooker. (That takes around 10-15 minutes to cook).
And a vegetable and chicken curry is missing.
Yes many people have told us that now haha
Wow what a beautiful airbnb!
Cool I love watching u guys enjoy ur stay in ktm
vegetables curry and pickle missing😊😊
I am so glad to you you gurs, lovely we guys awesome.
we love you guys🖤
We believe when you eat with hand food tastes better❤
Wow ....love from NEPAL
love from Nepal
There are many types of yellow dals. So you may have had some other type one earlier. And the papads you can cook on the flame instead of frying it in oil
well done 👍 guys ☺️ nice try
Actually the one u choose is called chana lentils and it takes a whole lotta time to cook. Usually before cooking I soak them for 30 min. There are some other types of lentils that cook faster but this one is hard
Beautiful video 🤩🤩
I used to live around that surrounding 2 3 years ago
Have fun guys .🙂👍👍👍
awesome combination
Yaz reaction is majority when trying laphing for the first time
Vegetables are kinda hard to find in day time because they are only out in the morning and afternoon (after4-5pm) to be cooked fresh during dal bhat time. Fruits are easy to find because they can be eaten anytime 😅 Also, you guys got Chana dal which takes a little longer to cook in a pot but in a pressure cooker it only takes up to 3-4 whistle. Next time get Toor or Moong dal, it cooks faster even in a pot😊 and Masala you can buy small packets in any grocery stores. Other than that I really enjoyed the video😊 Have a great time guys
That's my neighborhood. Enjoy!
u r doing great.!!
Welcome to nepal and visit also another places
Hopefully you like this hotel because i guess according to the vedio but 100$ nothing
But you got a luxury hospitality in nepal good luck man🇳🇵🇳🇵❤
Missing side dishes, chutney and a bowl of yogurt..Eating with your hand actually connects you with food. It makes you aware of the textures, taste and aroma while you eat engaging the fingertips...
Start eating from the side and then go to the middle at last. That way food will cool off.
Try a walk with a Monk.. gonna be unique experience..
You have to cook lentils in pressure cooker and chatni(pickles) would be nice too
Enjoy guys
Guys you forget to make tarkari (VEGETABLES) and PICKLES
