I feel like I grew up on RVD. RVD has provided me with entertainment throughout my childhood & adolescence. Now he provides me rolling papers. Kinda like a distant uncle. Truly a legend

RVD's advice at the end about remembering why you wanted to do it in the first place can apply to any endeavor that you're passionate enough about to want to make it your life. Creatively, athletically, any of it. It's not enough to be good or even great at something. There needs to be a drive there that means you love it. Well said Rob Van Dam.

Definitely a legend, but I feel like he gets his due. Which is a lot. He only recently retired.

One little thing to RVD's character that I liked was his sense of sportsmanship, like giving an opponent a bit of applause after a good exchange, or checking up on them and making sure the crowd cheered them too at the end of a tough match.
This was great. I met rob a couple years ago and he was pretty down to earth had no issues talking wrestling and just seemed like a real genuine dude. If only we could of toked one lol 💨

He and Jerry Lynn redfined professional wrestling in the late 90s. Guys like Ibushi, Osprey, Rollins, AJ Styles just to name a few all have various parts of their movesets that clearly have rvd influence scattered across it. The same with Sabu

I used to read the Apter mags late 80s/early 90s. The Kid Waltman+ RVD , Pillman+Liger.!! Before that so called high-flyers were Steamboat,Koko b.ware, S.Michaels+ Owen Hart. Big step up in air miles there.

I remember watching royal rumble 2007 and when RVD came out big pop, I really wanted him to win!
Before being casually dumped by Khali like about 6-7 other guys. And laughing on camera at Chris Masters for botching his elimination, that was funny. Unless you mean 2006 or 2009, where he got bigger pops...

No I mean 2007, Khali didn't dump him right away, and he got a lot of good offense in before he was eliminated. Before Shawn Michaels came in and gave Khali sweet chin music then 6 or 7 other people eliminated Khali. That's the one I was talking about.

Anyone out the who does . . . light one up man It's rob Van Dam. Lol I love Simon Miller and his interview. Being a wrestler himself I feel like he knows what questions to ask without going to far or "marking" out for them.
I've known Rob since he was a teen. He was always so full of questions and I had to kayfabe him 99% of the time because that was the nature of the business back then. (In fact, if you see the footage of him at 15 when he kissed DiBiase's foot for $100, it's one of the rare occasions where I was caught on camera.) Good guy, good parents, and he still makes it back home from time-to-time to see friends.
Sounds like he's pretty much the same off screen as he is on screen. Just a cool friendly dude

RVD was one of my favorite ECW wrestlers. From what I can remember he called his frog splash the Five Star From Splash because Dave Meltzer would never give an ECW match five stars.
Why he took all the blame when he and Sabu got pulled over I'll never know.
