  • I had to fix the audio on this video, sorry if you have seen it already. I take you through the journey of myToyota Soarer and its transformation over the last 14 years. Every modification on the car was done solely by myself.
I manufactured the 1uzfe intake manifold as well as the twin turbo exhaust manifolds.
The car now runs a 2jzgte with a Tremec T56 6 speed gearbox.

Very cool machine! I own. 96 SC400 and have targeted the potential handling aspects of the V8, since it's lighter than the 2J I6 and being front mid engine more potential for handling dynamics. Going nitrous w/ water meth injection/ hydro fan delete and 180 thermostat..much more! I suprisingly enjoy the automatic with transgo shift kit and gated manual shifter, however, I'm considering going to the CD 009 6 speed conversation to truly place this car into the sports car arena. These cars are an excellent platform w/ weight reduction and aftermarket suspension upgrades to truly be a superior, well balanced handling machine. Great video!

Just got one as well and I really love the 1uz. I also have a boosted is300 so really love going to v8 platform on this drift build. I found a cd009 I'm trying to pick up in the next week to use the cars full power potential!

I got an 1994 sc400, I reckon is cheaper swap for a 2jz and t56 than do any work on the 1uz, I love se 1uz, but takes so much money to get around 400hp...maybe 500, remember you need like 8 COP, 8 injectors, maybe 2 turbos, instead a big one, well, a 2jz or 1jz can be cheaper at the end, I believe

Dude.. I've got the 96 UZ and will trade for your 94.. kidding, but seriously, u can spray that engine with a 150 shot all day every day without opening the engine or ECU tuning...no need to go turbo! Your cost would b very little...install transgo shift kit w/98 sc300 gated shifter/trans cooler and weld your 3:92 rear differential..have fun and keep it inexpensive and reliable!

@@gilsondia just Google transgo shift kits and call support.. simple, but very worthwhile upgrade. The pistol grip shifter is terrible for performance shifting, so definitely look into the 98 sc300 gated.. you'll find the modification details on club lexus forum. I've done this to 2 SC's and it definitely makes the car more exact when shifting (no missed shifts)and the build quality is much better(solid unit) than the earlier pistol style. Hope this helps👍 PS my goal was to improve 0-60 times and these upgrades, along with the welded diff, allows me to launch hard and b exact with my shift points every time! Dragon torque converter is also an option, but with my setup, I'd likely have slower ET's from spinning...not worth risking the money and time in my opinion.

@@gilsondia1st Gen 1UZ's are indeed suitable for forced induction 89-early 1994. These engines can handle 10-12 psi boost unopened and just add arp headstuds above 12 psi, ECU upgrades/fuel system and the motor can handle 800+ HP (beefy factory PMR rods, lower compressions pistons w/better rings/6 bolt main/ cross drilled main caps/high volume oil pump/heavy webbed block/oversquare engine, designed originally for GT 500 racing. This engine is incredible..just has restrictions with heads and cams, and having only 4.0 liters of displacement, but plenty strong!

May I ask which engine you prefer, after owning both- 1UZ or 2JZGTE? Although it sounds like you didnt get to enjoy the UZ very long :(. I have a 2000 Toyota 4runner (surf N180), and thinking about a 1UZ turbocharged swap with r154 transmission. However, something about a 2JZ keeps coming to mind. Do you ever miss the 1UZ?
