This kept kids entertained for an hour
Oh... what a hit of nostalgia. This show aired in Germany during my childhood.
👍 When British TV once was Great 😎
Now all we get fed is Propaganda.
@@Ali_Haji_SouthAfrica I believe this is Australian
@@Ali_Haji_SouthAfricait's Australian
Its keeping this 23 year old entertained for hours too. This would have been my favourite show if it aired when I was a kid.
Harris Scarfe must have had a two-for-one jumper sale that morning.
Haaaa
I like the shirts.
It’s the ABC wardrobe department in a nutshell. 😂
@-ShootTheGlass- pretty sure this was channel 9 lol
I remember doing this one as a kid. I can’t believe I forgot about it. 😮
It's easy to forget some of the simplest times, given the series of unfortunate events that keep putting the population into a state of fear, whether it's financial, health, war, starvation... Oh wait that last one hasn't happened recently enough... Ooops
Best show in afternoon TV. It doesn't matter how it all looks, the science components don't age and would still be watched if they replayed them.
We are replaying them here
i thought there was a bug on my screen from your pfp
Fair Dinkum. I can remember watching this show when I was only just a little kid.
kid
Look at them collars!
😂
😂😂 just landed babeey
I spent many hours watching Deane and Rob. I got my love of science from them 😊
Yep, me too
"My task is to knock that down by rolling this coin at it"
"Spins coin"
"You cheated"
"Your honor, a spin is technically a vertical roll."
@@HistoryNerd8765doesn’t roll mean to turn over and over, not around and around?
Hah, it makes sense
My favourite show as a kid.
This was an amazing show. There were many great shows during this era.
Gen Z does this for a TikTok video and act like they've won the lottery jackpot when they finally nail it after 9 straight hours. 😂
Yeah and also look how classy he handled it, "third time lucky... beauty."
Not "Let's gooooooo!" I cannot begin to tell you how tired I am of that already.
"Gen Z" does this for 4 hours a day and uploads it on CZcams and makes 3 times what we make in a month
Crazy how people will do a difficult thing and get excited when they succeed. Kids these days 😅
“Let’s gooooo! Bro bro bruh bruh let’s gooo! No cap Ohio rizz”
Jesus Christ I dislike them and their era so much, I hope they find god and be normal one day, I think for that to happen the internet has to explode
I wonder how they both are these days and what they are up to?
They long gone
No, we are not.
@@CuriosityShow very pleased to hear it!☺️.
He said "By rolling this coin at it," proceeds to spin the coin
This is the level of entertainment I wish we stayed at.
"Ah, it's a boomerang" - the australian language is so beautiful
"third time lucky"
-that's SCIENCE!
Shot!
AMAZING!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND MIND BOGGLING!!
I never thought of it as a boomerang. Always had "top" in mind since it spins in the same manner. Interesting!
Grew up with this show, loved it. I became a scientist LOL.
A true showman, this chap could have hit the coin at will, but wanted to increase the anticipation. The hype man played his role perfectly as well.
Good ole times 👍🙏❤️
I really hope these two understand how much we loved them and how much they inspired us.
Thanks very much. Kind of you
The matching wardrobe caught my attention as much as the trick did
I loved watching this show as a kid.
Lol. This gave my flashbacks of playing "knuckles" as a kid.
"My task is to knock it down by ROLLING this coin at it". Failed.
Beauty
Omg... loved this show as a kid..
I did that all the time as a kid, but never once thought to play with the trajectory like that.
_"You can find me in the club, bottles full of 'bub..."_
- *40 cent*
This trick will not be possible with cbdc's
Resistance is not futile, it's mandatory
Loved this show as a kid
I loved this show. Sunday Arvos. After Star Trek! 😂
This guy has bar tricks for days 😂
Just a couple of lads with their matching shirts and jumpers :)
As a kid I never really appreciated that between the two of them they have one van dyk.
I'm only appreciating it at this very moment.
Finally one where I knew exactly how he’d do it. Only took me 30 years.
When I was a kid this was such an amazing show. Steelers
“I can’t get at that.” Yes, you can.
Love this show. 😢miss childhood
He did say his task was to "roll" the coin at the other one, so technically he didnt do it.
What would you call it then?
i like how the coin rang on the 3rd flick
I can imagine this taking hours and hours to film before the final edit 😂
I love this channel! I hope those two chaps are still alive and well 🙏🏼👍🏼❤
We are, thanks
My dad would’ve called that: science, skill, and ability.
I bet you that guy got mad drunk in bars doing that trick 😂
And this is the moment the whole 3rd time's the charm thing was invented
I just pumped my fist in triumph and made an “oh” with my mouth, when the coin hit. True story.
"i must roll it" here, watch me not roll it.
This guy really had some time in his days.
So you just spin the coin repeatedly until you get it, what a trick
I've been trying this for over 30 years
I would always watch it ...i didn't learn anything as ive forgotten everything they taught😂😂
You know he could do it with one but he had to make a point. He even said Lucky shot hahaha but it’s awesome to know how to
Hall and oates had to work to get gigs
Now this is what I'm talking about
I wonder how many takes were of him saying "third time lucky"?
“My task is to knock it down by rolling this coin at it” doesn’t even roll the coin just spins it
What is a spin
The coin rolls, as required !
Really living up to the stereotype that a kid's TV show is just doing bar tricks.
Miss this
Wow thanks for the memory of this used to watch it frequently
Love these guys
Ok, that's pretty impressive 👏
Very clever. Trevor
I was a kid back then but now that's too nerdy even for me.
This is the most Australian clip I've ever seen.
why is this show not on TV anymore?
Ahhh memories… This brings be back to 1992, my 6th grade year…. Yes.. This game turned into fist quarters, which turned into bloody knuckles, which turned into fist quarter bloody knuckles. lol.
He said he had to knock down the coin by rolling the other coin at it. Does “roll” mean the same as spin in Australia?
Still fascinating
More impressive he didn’t contact the glass
"third time lucky" - how many shots did you have to take to make it happen?
I too love to scrutinize segments from decades old educational television. Your like must be a blast.
@@BobLee-df4zh it's the "magic of TV"; what we get to see is never how it was made. learned that when i worked for the local "tv-station" (a very small endeavour).
knowing how hard this trick is - i instantly wonder if Dean and Rob were so talented, or if they had to take several takes of this "trick" to make it happen the way we've seen it on TV and now here :)
@@michaelkeller5008They have said that the number of edits is minima, all in one take. Less chance of continuity errors this way. If Rob had knocked down the coin in the second try, I reckon they would have just ran with it.
@@gorillaau yeah, still: how many times did they have to record this trick? (once, twice, ..?)
3?
I’ll try this tomorrow!
Ppl can do the same trick with currency....😂
How many takes do you think it took, to get it on the "third" try?
Loved “the Curiosity Show”
2 20 cents coins walk into a bar...
Curiosity!
In going to try this out straight away
Rolling this coin, he says.
A 20 cent coin. 👍
"Beauty"
Yes it was
at that time this was considered magic.
The start of a children's drinking game😂
I can't beleeve i forgot about this! Oh, i forgot.....I've never seen it before. OR HAVE I 🤔🤔🤔
Rolling...hmmm, no. Spinning, yes.
That’s some Dude Perfect stuff lol
The days when kids TV was educational.
Wat a show ..it was brilliant ❤
Wow magic. Who knew just 40 years later they would be flipping water bottles and making them stand up. Evolution baby.
brilliant.
Amazing.
Two 2010 coins and a glass...
Looks as if it's been filmed in the early 80s
20 cent. It really doesn't sound like that's what he said but 2010 is obviously impossible 😂
James Hatfield's 2nd career
BUT.. he didn't ROLL it like he said he flicked 😅
@veritasium can you do a video out of this?
Twenty cent coins? What are they smoking in Australia?
Life pre internet 😂
Nothing is impossible . impossible is Nothing
I'm 59 and found that entertaining 😅
