This is still surprisingly relevant. I have a bad habit of worrying myself sick about whether or not I'm competent or going to fail at my work and activities. I think a better perspective would actually help me.

Mary’s problem is the weight of her shoulder pads is placing unnecessary strain on her collarbones which places additional strain on her rib cage and the compresses her organs
This came at the right time. I just failed a test and it triggered even more worry in my head but I realized that while I was busy worrying, I was also wasting more time that could lead me to, perhaps, a more distasteful path. Failure isn't the end, of course, but if you want to succeed, it's best to learn from the first mistake than to relive it again.
As a Christian who was told to just read my Bible and pray when I tried to talk about my depression and anxiety, those things help but they are definitely not the only things to help. Learning about cognitive behavioral therapy, exercising, and good friends helped too. Don’t be ashamed of seeking help. 💕 God made doctors for a reason.

I would wonder why so many people get sick more than others is because of stress and anxiety like that. They expect too much and when they don't get it they get all mentally sore. I heard having anger and stress can cause physical sickness. I used to be like that when I had a hard time dealing with stress.
Dude, it's Mr. Edmund! He works part-time as a psycholtherapist-doctor in addition to his role as a psychotherapist-principal. Damn, what DOESN'T he do?!
No wonder doctors charged such high fees back then, not only did they treat an illness, but gave a lecture as well. (JK) The doctor DID make some excellent points about Alice.
That’s not what he meant. He meant that there’s no need to worry themselves sick for her, thinking that it’s something serious that she might not recover from. Back then people could die from a normal fever, because they didn’t have the right medicines. Today, in some countries, we have it so good that a normal fever isn’t viewed as anything serious. But in other, poor countries, they get scared for life if they even catch a cold. Because they know it can be deadly.
Alice is probably trans. She’s a man trapped in a woman’s body. She needs a double mastectomy and high dose testosterone immediately. And shit up, you bigots!

High school was a rough time for me I was a foot shorter than the girls 40 lbs overweight with crooked yellow teeth and a bad case of gas the ugliest girl in school would not give me the time of day so predictably I played with myself a lot and over time went blind
I can't believe I never grew up being taught this. to think Stalin was still alive when this was made, and yet growing up the schools in Toronto during the 90s never taught us this. Those were the days, when doctors made house calls and then stayed to talk for an hour.
And they really treated people, they were not like now, only dealers of harmful or addictive drugs called medicines.
yeah at first I figured these people were extremely wealthy lol
i wish my own doctor had such common sense.
Those videos are so useful for me, it's sad that they don't make videos like that anymore.
True!
I wish I can make such videos 😞. I would promote morals and ethics
They do. They’re just modern
Wow a doctor who knows the names of all the members of the family

Thank you.
All those examples he gave of people having ticks, stomach aches etc all have symptoms of anxiety.

Awesome words for that time wooooow!
3:40: I swear, I just knew that he was going to call her Mary. I nailed it. I mean, what else could you call her? She looks just like a Mary.
Mary was the most popular baby girl name from the 1880's-1950's.... I just assume any woman in that time period was a Mary. :)
It’s used plenty
Excellent advice
Walt Disney was also a doctor?
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaait, ain't that Walt Disney?? o_O
Doctor: Alice is really sick and will need lots of care to get well.
Also doctor as he leaves: Don’t worry about Alice...
After all what has worries ever accomplished
Those were the days when doctors cared about people and not their wallets. He didn't want the rest of the family getting sick from worry and stress.
