- In this special episode of ‘Mehdi Unfiltered’, we’re at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, around the corner from the United Center, at the Palestinian-American owned OUD Coffee and Cafe. Mehdi is joined in this exclusive interview with prominent voices from the Uncommitted Movement - and just moments after it was revealed that the DNC would not be allowing a Palestinian to speak at the convention.
Joining ‘Mehdi Unfiltered’ are co-chair of the Uncommitted Movement Layla Elabed, who briefly spoke with Vice President Harris recently; former U.S. Representative from Michigan Andy Levin, a progressive, Jewish critic of Israel; and Georgia State Representative Ruwa Romman, the first Muslim-American woman, and first Palestinian-American to be elected to the state’s House of Representatives.
Just minutes before this recording began, the panel got word that the DNC officially confirmed a Palestinian speaker would not be brought to speak on stage at the convention on Thursday, despite officials suggesting to the movement earlier that it could happen. The DNC had gone so far as shortlisting potential speakers, according to unnamed members of the movement who spoke to Zeteo.

Labor was abandoned, human rights were put on the back burner, civil rights stagnated, deep tax cuts for the wealthy were "accepted" because they also benefited wealthy liberal donors, Democratic candidates allowed themselves to became dependent upon big money so campaign finance reform was allowed to collapse.......
The rightward shift by the Democrats possibly left the Republicans no alternative but to move further right themselves. How else could Republicans differentiate their party from the cursed Democrats.
Hopefully Progressive Democrats will convince leadership that becoming "yesterdays Republicans" is not an effective long term strategy for making a better country and world.

It breaks my heart that an American Jewish family was allowed to speak on behalf 0f their hostage son but, American Palestinians were not allowed to speak on the ethnic cleansing of their families in Gaza. Both deserved a voice at the DNC. I’m proud of Kamala but ashamed of her not allowing both voices to be heard. I’m truly ashamed of what our American country has become. I'm not Palestinian I'm not Muslim I'm not Jewish I'm an American mom and I'm physically disabled and I've raised my two kids without their dad and also help raise someone who had both of their parents die that being said last election I voted for Biden because I didn't want Trump again and now I have so much regret for that I cannot vote for Harris just to avoid Trump and add to that guilt when I see the images and numbers of how many people are becoming disabled because of this and how many parents will now be disabled parents trying to take care of their kids how many kids will only have one parent or none breaks my heart I know from experience all these people will have a daily struggle that you cannot imagine unless you go through it it's not just the money it's mental physical emotional all those things affect not just the parent but the kids and that's in a safe place like here in America I cannot begin to put myself in their shoes and add on to all that bombs drones soldiers nightmares homelessness morning multiple family members the healing for not only Palestinians but for the whole world to get over how long this has went on publicly without being stopped is going to leave a hole in Humanity's chest for a long time and that is going to take a long time to heal as well I'm sure I'm not the only one that can cast a ballot in November and then in December wake up on Christmas to see more dead Palestinian children knowing that not only did my taxpayers pay for the weapons killing them but my vote also helped the person signing off on those weapons get that pain in their hand I can't do it again I know they won't do a complete arms embargo embargo that's not what I'm saying I'm saying Israel is full of a lot of educated prideful people they have come a long way since the Holocaust & I think they're doing much better than a lot of other places there's no reason they shouldn't be treated just like every other country & held accountable just like every other country officials from the White House that have resigned have one on record saying our policy is different from them than anybody else that is what I'm asking to change we need to investigate the crimes that are reported ourselves not wait for them to investigate themselves & they don't belong getting weapons until we know they're not committing crimes against humanity the funding and weapons we give them should be done quarterly not yearly, lastly we've always said we abide by the international court system I don't understand why that should stop now just because it involves Israel the fact that Kamala Harris was a prosecutor make the breaking of laws and war crimes and disrespect of the international Court's rulings all the more sickening and in all honesty makes me agree when Trump says that she let criminals go because that's what she's doing with multiple people that are committing war crimes & definitely with Netanyahu who's at the forefront
