Yes, I know, Star Wars: A New Hope was actually in theaters in 1977, not 1978. Please don’t fact check me.
You weren't even born jigga! (love from Karachi)
Maybe this will be the witty, top pinned comment that finally takes down the billionaire class!
Apparently it actually stayed in theaters for over a year!
A New Hope was a pivotal film. If you look at the movies from the decade before it to the decade after it you can see almost single handedly where it made the shift to films that were more tonally optimistic and more open to science fiction and fantasy.
Technically it was in theaters in 78' it just wasn't new then.
Never understood how Americans call him “radical” and dude is just fighting for basic stuff that are normal all over the world, even in capitalists countries.
that's right-wing propaganda. As you can see, when they survey people about these "radical" ideas, almost everyone agrees they are good ideas.
When you say "Americans," I think you actually mean the corporate media and any gullible folks who lap up their propaganda.
Americans don't call him radical, multi-millionaires in media do who don't want their taxes to go up. He is radical to them only. God Even though Bernie's work has been so important I wish he was born more recently. Dude would be unstoppable. Unfortunately most people don't give him the time of day to see he's still extremely sharp.
@@SuperDannyrulez uh, yes they do.
Sadly, he is radical according to US political standards.
I have no idea how this man has maintained sanity screaming common sense into the void for his entire adult life. A lesser man, myself included, would lose it. You can say whatever you want about Bernie Sanders, but you can never take that away from him-this man has been FIGHTING TOOTH AND NAIL for basic human rights and the middle class vs autocrats and the obscenely wealthy. I cannot possibly show enough respect to Bernie Sanders, and the fact that he never got the support he needed to become president keeps me up at night, sometimes.
💯💯💯 Couldnt agree more
You should look up Haim Saban, the Egyptian-Israeli billionaire who donated 10 million to the Clintons because Bernie is not "pro-zionism"
Amen Bernie. A voice of reason and sanity.🎉
Bernie is obscenely wealthy like most of the people that have been in politics all their lives and never had to actually work. The authoritarianism he promotes has nothing to do with human rights.
Because the Truth shall ALWAYS BE SPOKEN! He will never back down from what is right
Bernie is the best. I've never known a public servant who has more empathy & compassion.
He sincerely cares and always has.
And tenacity!!

I think that honesty may very well be the Fountain of Youth.
Bernie endorsed Genocide Joe and Holocaust Harris. He is a disapopintment to humanity and controlled opposition.
Seeing Bernie still get fired up like he does at least gives me a shred of hope that we’re not too far gone in this country.
It's all a show to win over voters that wouldn't normally vote Democrat, he's know very well we'll never make the changes he preaches voting red or blue
He’s still the most popular politician in the country
everyone is so fucking mad at Trump. We're going to be okay for at least one more election cycle.
people are so angry at donnie, that I think we're going to be safe for 4 more years.
We more Bernie clones.
Great interview. So glad Hassan, who is brilliant, refrained from his earlier habit of trying to looking like a tough interviewer, and just asked extremely good questions aimed at understanding what his interviewee thinks. And Bernie, God bless him, got a chance to say, "It's going to take a long time, but you can do it. It's going to be hard, but hold the politicians feet to the fight and eventually you'll have the country you want. Giving up is not an option." This man understands how American democracy can work, and speaks the truth.
since you think hASSan is "brilliant", I wonder if you know about that story he told about his prom date from high school? It was false - he made it up, but she's a real person and she did actually get death threats because of the story he told. He knew about this going on for years, yet did nothing to defend her against the many threats against her and her family. Finally, it was exposed in the NYT and other sources. His defense was that his show wasn't supposed to be taken literally or as fact, but was instead just "comedy". Which is weird, because he definitely presented his show as serious commentary (done in a "funny" way) on current events, not him just making up funny stories.
@@freeforest I didn't know that. I was talking about his intelligence when I called him brilliant. But as we all know intelligence isn't the only trait you want in your comics, actors, journalists, etc.. Thanks, I'll check this out.
Yeah his method works so well that the US is now openly committing a genocide
That was a comedy special, it was not supposed to be taken seriously@@freeforest
This is it exactly.🎉 Giving up is not an option. I've seen changes, both good and bad, brought about by citizens working toward that change. Getting distracted is the problem. Pick an issue and help see it through.
"Senator Sanders, do you ever feel like blowing your brains out?" "Occasionally" God damn 😂 Can't blame him.
I am in vt and vote for Bernie--I am lucky to spend my vote on him!
I adore this man lmao
Who doesn't?
Why? He literally supported the genocide.

The fact that Bernie has not gone completely insane from trying to push the party that is more on the side of the people to stop ignoring the interests of the people is such a testament to his character and his capacity for hope. Absolutely love him.
He made a good point on the positive change he HAS seen in his lifetime. Often times we focus on the negative and forget about what does gradually improve over time. The trick is to always fight the good fight and never go "bust".
Bernie has NOT been trying to push the party left lmao. his goal is to funnel the voters to the right. Name an election in the last 30 years where he endorsed an actual progressive that wouldnt commit war crimes?
He is controlled opposition. He gets paid to accomplish nothing and make leftie voters feel like they accomplish something.
This is why the DNC didn’t let us choose Bernie over Biden.
I walked past Bernie Sanders while interning in the Senate years ago. The 6 feet thing is true, man loomed

Yep. I'm 5'-3". Got to talk to him at an event and he put was arm around my shoulders for a pat when he found out I campaigned for him in the most Tepublican part of the state. He tall.
Somehow that thrills me. I wish I could see/meet him in real life. When it seemed like he might win, for that short period way back when, I swore I would travel to the USA for his inauguration. I meant it. Sadly....

Well, of your lifetime likely but not ever. Henry Wallace comes to mind.
Bobby Kennedy was also pretty brave for being anti-vietnam war. They shot him dead six months after Dr.King was assassinated.

The media is to blame for repeatedly labeling Bernie as "radical". He is correct in saying that "money" controls not only our government, but the media. How can we change this? Seems impossible to me. I am happy to say that I voted for Bernie.
I think the media landscape is changing before our very eyes! I very rarely watch MSM and get almost all my news from Social Media. Only the “old” folk watch cable news these days.
Bernie answered that question in this video. The house can pass legislation to get the money out of campaigning (or at least to set genuine caps on it that don't have loopholes).
It can only happen in a revolutionary fight as always in human history.

America fumbled by not Electing Bernie Sanders as President.
Bernie Sanders is a great politician but I don't know if he would have been able to deliver as a President. He would have had huge pushback working with the House and Senate from the GOP and by some Dems making his policy vision a non-start.
@@BimRen246 even with this likely truth, I would rather have had a morally sound President in office the last 8 years.
This. So much this.

As a Canadian, I think this guy is easily the most practical, intelligent politician in US Senate. Moreover has actual morals and ethics.
none of our prominent politicians have any morals
That's the reason he is not elected to be president and Trump is. 😢

So glad I found your site! Great questions. Bernie Sanders is probably the only politician with unquestionable integrity -- he has NOT changed his mind or his message about all the most important concerns for 90% of the population once over decades. He has consistently spoken up for all of us and also given good guidance. He is right -- Citizens United MUST GO! Vote -- let's vote Blue up and down ballot and get rid of Citizens United. DO NOT PUT YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND! VOTE. PLEASE. FOR YOUR SAKE and OUR CHILDREN'S SAKE.
PLUS NETANYAHU IS AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT NOT ONLY TO PALESTINE BUT TO ISRAEL. I hope Israel wakes up and gets rid of him (jail) and learns to see their Palestinian neighbors as important as they are. My dad fought in WWII against fascism and for freedom -- that freedom did not include the right to demolish another country, culture and people.
Senator Sanders, formerly Representative Sanders, formerly Mayor Sanders of Burlington, IS and WAS the best argument for the idea that age does not affect everyone in the same way, and for PERSISTANCE and DEDICATION to good ideas, and working for those ideas.
*He does not give up. Ever. He is the most inspiring practical idealist in American politics.*
Imo he’s the only genuinely inspiring practical idealist.
Prove it.
The amount of legislation that he cowrote, or legit gave away to repiblican politicians for free and with no recognition, as long as they managed to pass it and help people, is astounding. Not counting the innumerous pushs for bringing a topic into the mainstream arena. Extremely practical man pushing from an ideal point that is common sense and almost everyone agrees with

As an American citizen of Jewish background (I'm personally atheist), this is such an important conversation. Visiting Israel, through Birthright almost 20 years ago, only solidified my position that Palestinians deserve the right to their own state. The horrors that happened to my people in Europe due to the rise of Hitler should NEVER have led to some of the same exact crimes being perpetrated on a different population at our hands. It's unconscionable, to put it mildly. It's too late to go back and undo the past.... but at a bare minimum Palestine needs independence and the right to self-determination and all of the land stolen since the Oslo accords agreement returned
TOTALLY AGREE!❤
Please tell this to everyone you can. Too many Americans haven't a clue.
Well nobel thought. Then that means Israel won't exist the only 'Jewish' country...
Don't they have a right for defence? And couldn't palestanians settle in peace with coexistence after those accords and not start first war with help of Arab countries???
And if jews leave Israel where will they go? Will they be persecuted in 47 Islamic states? Will they go to US?
What is root cause & solution?
I believe Islam needs reform and coexisit. Not hate Jews and other faiths. Period.

That’s such a beautiful comment 👏👏👏 congratulations for having a soul and escaping an indoctrination into the evils of znionism
Why is this so complicated? There are people illegally trapped in an open air prison, and their goal is to be free.
Because of Zionism. There's people who are literally taught that being against the existence of Israel is a sin, as well as other beliefs that include racism, patriotism, and anticommunism.
@@LouisSubearth Racism isn't one of those, not in large part. The rest are spot on though. Vast majority of people aren't racists.
@CrusaderLogan racism does play into Zionism, because the biggest beneficiaries of it are white Jews, or more precisely, European descent Jews. Groups like Palestinian or Ethiopian Jews are often discriminated by the Zionist government in Israel.
@LouisSubearth not true. Communism is shite.

Mind you, Senator Sanders is also Jewish (idk how religious he is tbh) but the fact that he doesn't use that in his stance on Gaza as I've seen with many Jewish students from my school. Many have said bc they're Jewish & have a closeness with Israel with their ancestry/religion, they have to support Israel which breaks my heart to hear. One can still be Jewish and still be pro-Palestine.
The important comment is Israel DID have the right to defend their country. Totally agree bc if that was the US, we'd do the same. BUT, they went way to far to ethnic cleansing causing a genocide.
Besides that, the other issues he's been fighting for, it's politicians like him we need. Hope we continue this legacy. This is a great and important conversation that we haven't seen with major political figures. Thank you for this video.

The best point: BERNIE IS NOT RADICAL. He is a common sense moderate that represents vast majority of people. INCLUDING on Gaza.
I don't know why you included his views on Gaza as the majority position. He responded to the ceasefire question, by condeming Hamas as terrorist organization but he's going to act like it wasn't in the news that IDF sexually assaulted a male prisoner so violently with an object that the prisoner had to go to Emergency Room for damaged intestines. Identiy politics has been the downfall of our country for a long time. Whomever implements their voting party as a part of their identity, in my opinion, has lost themselves and have no idea who they are anymore.
That's not really true. Plenty of people in America say "I vote Democrat/Republican."

It’s impressive how Bernie is still this sharp at his age and, more admirably, still passionate and energetic with today’s issues.
And still in touch with the average American. That’s rare from a politician who has been in as long as Bernie.
It's actually not that impressive. The majority of people maintain cognitive capacity at his age. Fewer than half of people over 70 suffer from dementia and severe cognitive decline. Don't let the media and social media's ageism distort reality for you.
And Bennie is simply impressive as a human being of any age, because he has conviction and doesn't just talk.
Truth be told it is NOT normal to have cognitive impairment with age. It's sad that this is the norm in the US. The rest of the world has 90 year olds that still are very much with it and active. Heck my 105 year old grandma in India still wakes up at 4 am to milk cows and carry it back in buckets by the gallon home, picks vegetables by hand, sits on the floor cross legged to eat, plays with kids in the streets, is not incontinent and feeds herself. She's also not the only elderly person in our village that can do that. The US needs to take care of its elderly better and give them purpose so they're not sitting in an old age home at 80.
Don't forget when the DNC and Hillary were saying he was much too old to be president nearly 10 years ago lol. Fools.

Oh come on The situation isn't all THAT hopeless. I love Bernie, and surely there are many younger, equally idealistic people in the U.S. Some of them will undoubtedly run for office or otherwise work toward the noble goals he's worked for all his life.
There CAN DEFINITELY BE another and MANY MORE politicians like Bernie. Young and idealistic activists getting into politics just have to continue to say No to money coming from Oligarchic Special Interests.
You know, the best part is that this statement is inaccurate. There will be people similar to him, inspired by him, people of a younger generation who will fight for his ideals even after he's gone

The only time I'm seeing a US politician speak actual sense about the whole Israel - Palestinian war. He spoke exactly what people in Gaza are going through and I'm just glad someone in office sees through this.
You got your likes, but saying that Bernie Sanders speaks sense just reveals you to be as ignorant as he is.
What’s happening in Palestine makes perfect sense. They released charter after charter telling the world what they were going to do, Israel said FAFO, and then Palestine did what they said they would do.
Even before Oct7, Palestinians didn’t have to live like they were living. Their government was given billions of dollars year after year after year, and what did they spend it on? Tunnels, and bombs, and guns. Clearly, this is what they wanted.
@@gmh471Exactly, Bernie continues to contradict himself throughout the entire interview. He claimed to support a palstn state while endorsing the party that is spending billions on weapons used to destroy that state. He claimed he supports universal healthcare while endorsing a presidential candidate who is agaisnt universal healthcare. He claims he is agaisnt the billionaire class and their agenda while he supports the politicians that accept campaign donations from the billionaire class and pass legislation to advance their agenda. What Bernie is saying in this interview definitely sounds good, but I'm sure even a 5th grader could understand that what Bernie said just doesn't make sense at all.
Bernie is too established in the field and hard to be targeted. As for the others who are brave enough to say a thing about Gaza. they get hammered immediately by the powerful pacs supported by the Israel lobby. Money talks.
@@gmh471 In what ways is Bernie Sanders ignorant? He's very different from your typical politician, the majority of which who are, as you wrote, ignorant. He's one of the few, possibly the only, politician that doesn't see things one sided nor does he pander. While he may not be a devout Jew, he is still Jewish, and is one of the very few Jewish politicians that's been condemning Netanyahu's ongoing massacre of Palestinians.
Great interview! Love Bernie Sanders! I’m Canadian, born & raised in Canada 🇨🇦. I love our healthcare system. Americans can have that too! Fight for it!
Can we appreciate for a moment how well this piece is produced? The camera work, cuts etc just so smooth
I love Bernie. I first heard him speak as Mayor of Burlington at the end of a peace march. Campaigned for him door to door when he ran for Gov. And have counted us as so lucky to have him in Congress all these years.
Luck doesn't have as much to do with it as the people of Vermont continuing to VOTE him into the Senate. You think American democracy doesn't work? Bernie Sanders is living proof it does. If everyone voted, every state could send a Bernie Sanders to the Senate. Let that sink in.
Ever since visiting UVM as a kid, I’ve always wanted to move and live in VT, but I have little marketable skills as a single guy with no networking up there, to just pick up and move. Hopefully I can make up my mind on what career to take soon and make it up there in the next decade 😅
@@TheCJRhodes A friends sister was in the same place as you years ago. She did a little research to find out what she could do for a living in Vermont, and discovered that education (at least back then) was among the biggest employers. She went to college, got her teaching certificate and eventually taught in the public schools there. The other biggest employer is tourism. Most people ask "What do I want to do?" and then move there, but she asked, "Where do I want to live?" and got herself the training to do a job that was available where she wanted to live. Good luck in your journey!

This cannot be true!
This man truly has a code. He may not have had my favourite takes in the short-term after the attack, but he understands suffering and now just wants it to end. Strength of character
Yeah his code is right out of the communist playback. Govt in charge of everything. Taxes higher than ever. No one takes responsibility for themselves. The USA is nothing without its economy and business sector. Under trump it had never been better until covid came along.
Well put
Why is he backing genocide if what you're saying is true? (Hint: stop drinking the Kool aid)
@@RoufaTherrien didn't he just say he's voting to block a weapons transfer? Personally I think he took too long to get there, but he seems to have changed his stance and is now attempting to end the genocide
Leave it to Hasan to set the record straight regarding Bernie's height 😂
Thank you for this interview with Bernie. Good questions. Bernie is so very intelligent, and explains issues so I can understand them. Good job.
So glad to see Hasan around again
So great. Makes me wanna cry. Realistic and hopeful. Howard Zinn said “The terrible patience of activism”.
Seriously. 21:18 like this whole thing is extremely sad and while i have hope for Harris/Walz, we have to take a big leap away from PACs and big dark money.
Hearing him speak is so validating. My friends and I are always screaming about the abhorrent amount of money in politics. The issue has never been a lack of solutions to the many issues we face, but the depths of the pockets of those who want things to stay the same.
I'm glad he's speaking about Cori Bush's primary. I was born and raised in STl, and still live here; its wild that a foreign conglomerate can just come in and buy a local election through ads and superPACs. Again, the company that backed Cori Bush's opponent is not in US based or does anything in STL. They have an Israeli owner and saw Cori was in support of Palestine, went after her in the primary.
AIPAC should be shamed out of existence. That acknowledged, there are those of us who are a little disappointed that members of "the Squad" don't seem to be trying to leverage the power they had as a smaller group in Congress. Gaza is an international black eye to the US, but there are also other issues that these members could be giving publicity towards
What's crazy to me is that that many people fell into it though. I hate that the money works.
As a man living far away from USA, I had felt real peace when I saw he was running for the president. When I saw he was not anymore, it made me so disappointed & hopeless. He is the greatest president USA never had.

This was a great interview. Not many jokes, letting the interviewee speak thoroughly through many topics and hasan bridged the conversations incredibly well. More of this!
Agreed! Perfect amount of humor, and Hasan's questions/responses were perfectly timed & showed he was listening and cared. And I felt represented by him as an interviewer.
Sound like a boomer.
How do we, the people, stop Citizens United? What can we do to get dirty money out of politics?
Fight for ranked choice voting and campaign financing reforms.
Elect people of conviction with a commitment to solving that issue. Write to those already representing you and tell them that your vote depends on their action.
What Bernie proposes wouldn't totally solve the problem; *enacting spending cap laws for local and national campaigns is the better solution.*
Billionaires have addresses
Fight for exclusively public financing of political campaigns, at < $100 contributed/person, and at least consider the possibility of shortening the length of political campaigns, since longer campaigns generally mean increased costs. It's far less of an issue in the UK than it is here, and their campaign season is only six weeks long
I was on Bernie's campaign with the New Hampshire crew back in 2020. I would do it all over again! I know I'm not alone on that! ❤️✊🏽🇵🇸
I knocked on doors to help him win in 2016 in michigan when everyone thought clinton would win.
Civilians are keeping hostages in their homes. Disgusting
We dont deserve Bernie. I have my disagreements on certain things with him; but he has been a tireless advocate for humanity since before my parents were alive and for that I will always respect him. They can never make me hate you Bernie.
it did not start on October 7. it is not a WAR
Bernie knows that.
Agreed. We need to focus on LGBT rights in muslim countries and have Israelies move over there.

@@mnn3931He's smart because you have to use all political power possible. The fact that he supports blocking military aide is the most powerful move, he unfortunately doesn't have enough members of Congress to support him.
Bernie isn't just a representative; he's an advocate. A visionary. Someone who knows the direction we must go and says, "follow me."
Bernie still the GOAT. America fumbled not having him as president
hes a zionist. he literally thinks its ok to kill children for a thousand year old book
"America" didn't fumble. The corporate captured DNC moved heaven and earth to prevent him from getting the nomination.
Remember when the DNC let Shadow, a company associate with Pete Buttigeig, handle the reporting for the first and most important primary? And it just so happened to malfunction and misreport the results, allowing Pete, without the votes, to claim that he had won?
Remember when every other candidate simultaneously dropped out of the primary and backed Biden just before hi home state... other than the other progressive, Elizabeth Warren, a candidate with no path to the nomination, but the only one pulling votes from Bernie?
Remember when Warren stabbed Bernie in the back by having anonymous staffers report that Bernie was sexist against her at *A PRIVATE, ONE ON ONE DINNER NONE OF THE STAFFERS WERE AT?*
I could go on, and on... *and on.* We didn't fumble. The DNC and corporations ran up and smacked the ball out of our hands and then feigned ignorance, "Oh, did we do that? Whoops. Anyways, enjoy your democracy."
I love when Bernie whispers... I always lean in for the fireside chat.
A bit ironic Bernie says dropping out is not an option but I believe that is what his supporters wanted from him when he dropped out!!!
Bernie is a great mentor for all. His persistent choice of the most important things for all people, and the way he has been outspoken is very refreshing. None of the superficial BS.
Thanks, Hasan! That was a phenomenal interview 🎉!
History didn't start on Oct. 7. What happened on that day was a reaction to what has been happening. It just only got covered after it happened.
How do you think these people ended up in those camps?
Look up what "mowing the lawn" means in this situation.
Yeah, Bernie is the best we have yet he's still scared to say or delusional about the truth of the situation
@@TheFinnym123also Hamas didn’t kill 1,200 on Oct 7. The number is less than half of that, the 1,200 is a lie but still repeated.
Right. October 7 began by flying over and breaking down a violently militarized border. One must necessarily ask why that violently militarized border was there to begin with. And whether it was destroyed because of a righteous cause by those held captive. The answer is obviously yes
If you think Bernie doesn't know the history, you're hilarious.
@@anahata2009 I don't know what he knows, I know what he stated. My comment is regarding his statement, not his thoughts.
Bernie is like that grandpa that sits Jimmy down and tells you, “this is how the world works”.
I live in Canada and some of our premiers are trying to privatize healthcare. It’s terrifying.
Same thing in many places in Europe, neo-liberalism is destroying the state welfare in favour of big corps. Worse quality services, higher costs for both people and the state, bigger profits for the elite.
Dual citizen here. Born and raised in Canada, & live in the U.S. now. I will never move back to Canada due to its rationed govt monopoly of a healthcare system that is almost collapsing. People dying on waitlists at unprecedented rates. Including my own mother. My healthcare here is even cheaper in the States than in Canada. A family of 4 in Canada pays approximately $17,000 CAD/ year via taxes.
My family down here pays around $8,000 CAD/year. In Taiwan and S Korea we paid around $7,000/ year.
Have also lived in Taiwan & S Korea.
1. You do realize that Canada is now the worlds only social democracy with a Govt healthcare monopoly not emulated by any other country on the planet, right?
2. Even Quebec, since the Supreme Court, in 2005, have that one Province more health care rights more than any other Province.
3. The word “Private” does not mean just for profit. It means both non-profit and for profit.
Bismarck models, such as those used in Japan & Germany use MANY non-profit insurance providers and many non profit service providers. This emulates the free markets, decreases administrative bloat & uses tax dollars more efficiently than single payer & beveridge systems. Also, less wait times & increased accessibility.
In Canada, each Province has ONE govt monopoly insurance Provider, Provincial Medicare. Which has become bloated with administration, no matter what Province & has lead to:
-historic #’s people dying on waitlists (my mother was one of them)
-BC had to send 5000 cancer patients to the US for treatment
-people waiting years in pain for surgeries
Alberta is definitely on the right track with decentralisation. Govt just sucks at running these systems.
Sure, there is “private” for dental, vision, physio, etc. but hospital services and doctor visits are not allowed to be covered by the private market. So, Govt basically owns your body. No country emulates the level of Govt monopoly Canada does. Not even the 5 remaining communist countries. We’re way to the left of them. Even Denmark, Sweden, Australia & others don’t allow govt to own their citizens bodies.
4. In the States, there are 5 publicly funded programs that taxpayers fund.
A. Medicaid - single payer
B. SCHIP- single payer
C. Veterans - beveridge model
D. Healthcare.gov -Bismarck model
E. Medicare - single payer model.
Taxpayers pay the premiums for those who are too poor or physically incapacitated.
Again, proof is in and Bismarck models are much better than both Beveridge and single payer models.
Now, because the states is a Republic, each state decides whether they wish to “mandate” people to sign up for healthcare- making it a “right”. It is a States decision. Again, if a person doesn’t want to use their employer insurance, they have the federal program, healthcare.gov to use .
Instead of criticising the States, a thank you is more appropriate. As the States indirectly subsidizes every country with a socialized medicine in two ways:
A. When your country puts more tax $ towards your social programs rather than the required 2% of NATO, the States ends up putting a disproportionate amount in to NATO to make up for this lack of funding.
B. Canada & many other countries free load off of the States with lifesaving drugs & medical innovations. They use IRP (international Reference based) pricing, but omit the States high price which includes the R&D costs. All these countries should include the costs it took to develop these life saving drugs because the U.S. is the country that pays for & funds most of the development for these drugs.
So, instead of criticising, a thank you to the U.S. is more appropriate.
@@dcs668You are in a position of privilege if you are a dual citizen and/or you can travel to another country for medical treatment. What matters is the health care that someone with a low/no income and no ability to travel will receive.

Thank so much for doing this. Appreciated.
Am super gladdened that Bernie raised the issue of the West Bank.
Gaza genocide has completely overshadowed the ethnic cleansing that is going on there.
America doesn’t deserve this guy, he really cares about people as opposed to winning a screaming competition.
If money in politics is the problem, it will never get solved. You cannot stop people from being corrupt. That is just human nature.
I disagree with Bernie on the genocide starting in Oct. 7, but I think it's incredibly important that even though his position conflicted with Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman, he still worked around the clock to reelect them. I think that point highlights the important fact that change can be attained only with socialists in positions of power, and that can only be attained with political alliances.
Progressive except for Palestine.
In our voting system, we are often voting between two choices we disagree with. Until our voting system is reformed, it is not immoral to support people who are wrong, but required - to prevent someone even more wrong. We should constantly fight for a better voting system, but in the meantime we have to make the best choices we can from among limited options.
@@kevinpiala6258 And what about people like me? Kamala just talked about building a wall, does she not want the hispanic vote? Why is she using trump talking points?
@@kevinpiala6258people continue to be scared into voting for one of the 2 main candidates instead of a true reform candidate in a 3rd party. It's time to either let go of the "best of the worst" idea and actually vote for the best candidate.
@@kevinpiala6258 and the duopoly has no incentive to ever implement that better voting system so it will never happen. I'm Canadian. Trudeau promised election reform when he first ran nine years ago. In essence, it would have prevented another Conservative majority from ever happening. Good. It also would've prevented another Liberal [his own party] majority from ever happening. Also good. But not good for his party. It was pretty much the first promise he broke. It was so easy to see coming. The Dems are the same. They will put party over good policy ever time, because good policy doesn't pay them.
Why doesn’t anyone talk about what was happening before October 7th?
When I hear the Democratic Party talking about how “authoritarian” and “anti-democratic” Donald Trump is, I think “ they who smelt it, dealt it.”
A Muslim and a Jew of their public stature discuss Gaza! Thank you!
POLIO!!! I'm soooo sad for the Palestinians! How bad is this going to turn out. My heart breaks for them.
I love Bernie! Thanks for interviewing him!!
as an israeli jew i can tell yall, having a jew as president with ties to israel as bernie does would have been a HUGE boon to actually pushing back on israel.
If he was clear eyed about what "Israel" really is as a society deeply and desperately brain washed around hated of others that aren't like them.
Kamala Harris’ husband is Jewish.
i have a lot of respect for bernie sanders, but to pretend that the gaza strip and west bank were a utopia and that hamas (a resistance movement, which yes, has commited numerous terrorist acts) attacked israel for no reason whatsoever, is extremely disingenous!
My favourite part of Bernie supporting Gaza is watching Israel try to accuse him of being an anti-semite.
A while back, either before or early in the Trump administration, a Jewish Zionist (progressive on everything EXCEPT Israel) acquaintance of mine called him a "capo". I know what word means.
Love to see Bernie is still doing well! He’s the reason I got into politics back in 2016 thank you senator Sanders!
I seriously love this man so much. He has been my inspiration and hope for years. I was one of those Bernie or bust guys and fell into the despair, but I am starting to see some light in this country. The first true step we have to take is getting money out of politics. (and of course a FREE Palestine!)
I hope people understand -- I stood in line in Sander's rallies alongside republicans (who graciously held my place), and in the same year, watched him shout down students demanding we go to war with Israel. This man is a moderate, and the world should take grave concern with respect to the fact that he is considered fringe-left in this country.
Idk man, but I don't like when people originate the Palestinian genocide to Oct 7. It's been ongoing for decades.
Agree, uneducated people are the targeted audience I’m guessing…. FFS, a couple hrs of googling the illegal occupation of Palestine could be easily done by all Americans for as long as the genocide has been happening,
Same. it’s also really uncomfortable to hear that it’s a war 😐A war against who??? what guns do they have?? what bombs do they have? Half of them are children 😢

As a Frenchman, I would just like to say, his entirely correct analysis of the situation in France shows that he pays attention not only to what goes on in his country, but also abroad. And in this context where he must already have a lot on his plate as it is, in America alone, it really shows the man cares very deeply about what's best for our collective society all over the globe.
