  • Better later than never. MK Deadly Alliance was the only game from that era, that I really liked and messed up with (except MK: Shaolin Monks as well of course). Sad thing was, only couple of guys give the game justice from a combos point of view. Juggernaut made a really nice combo video back in days, but the only person, who kept the game alive was Check ( / check4900 . We had plans to make a combo video since years, and I am glad we finally made it.
The game is extremely limited when it comes to damaging combos as the opponent flops after few air juggles, similar to MK1 (Revisions 4-5). However, using some ridiculous camera angles and combo resets, allows you to trick the game and get decent damage.
    Few notes about the combos:
    1. Some combos are done with Impale (notice the lifebar decreasing);
    2. Wall hits are rollable, except in the scenarios and against characters, showed in the video.
    3. Acid Bath full damage takes between 25%-30%. I put some combos and punishers using it just for showcase.
    4. Cyrax break combos requires jump over, in order to prevent jump cancel escape.
    5. Of the ground Grabs near Pillars are unblockable and unescapable after combo juggle if done right (unlike MK Deception lol).
    6. Hsu Hao's 62% is done with his unlisted autocombo
    7. If you wait more time while opponent is Impaled and then start the combo, the damage increases.
    8. Impale Glitch was used for Shang Tsung and Reptile, as those are the most limited characters to get huge damage with.
    9. Shove infinites works only on Lung Hai temple when opponent is locked between two corners.
Again, many thanks to Check for counltess hours of explanation and help of how to get the combos. Without you, friend, this combo would never be possible!

Awesome combos! I also have to add that I love the high quality crisp captures, 60 FPS, editing (music & announcer), and the ice effects on Sub-Zero's freeze. Everything about this is outstanding!

Damn! I haven't used my old account in literally 15 years and today I followed one of tabmok's videos by pure accident, which eventually brought me to this unexpected surprise. And what a surprise it really is! Great work ded_, it's truly awesome to see you and all the other guys keeping the MK spirit alive! Fascinating combos, brilliant video and audio editing concepts, loved the credits sequence. Watching the video managed to bring an enormous amount of nostalgia and memories from those days back then. I thank you for every minute of this experience and as always, keep up the good work!!!

    Long post ahead:
No matter what you do, you always outdo yourself, in terms of presentation and editing. Great job! the sample sounds from advertisement, interviews and teasers take the video to a whole other level and feel. You truly understand how to keep this stuff entertaining. Not to mention the chosen effects and transitions, the choice of songs, the different "atmospheres" or "chapters". Sometimes we as viewers are exposed to so much at the same time, but you manage to let our senses to take a break for a second, only to return with violence LOL
The hype I experienced over MKDA back then, has remained unmatched by any other MK game. I'm talking about the months preceding its release. I remember hunting and searching for tons and tons of pictures, samples, teasers, games conventions and interviews, whatever I could put my hands on. I was extremely hungry to play this game. I even pre-ordered it, along with the Brady Games guide (which I still have, of course). Believe it or not, I truly like Adema's track and even though I know it's just generic nu-metal, nostalgia wins every time, so I love watching the video clip and I still remember watching the documentary and behind the scenes for the first time at home. Playing it for hours so I could unlock everything, learning combos and trying shit in the game. MKDA was released within a year from the time I learned about USA MK scene (2001), so a whole new world opened to me. Internet forums, combo videos, tutorials, strategy talk with strangers from around the world... it was GLORIOUS.
Now, as for the combos on this video, there's so much I didn't even know... On the other hand, those super duper balls-deep jumping kicks = WIN.
I still remember how satisfying it was for me to pull off some big Kung Lao and Kenshi combos. And I knew Nitara was the queen of damage!
Thanks for the mention, brother, hope you do this stuff forever ^_^

Always felt kitana came out pretty ok compared to alot of the designs/ redesigns of the era.
Definitely one of my favorite looking ones of this generation not that that means all too much but the colouration was also pretty unique and pleasing and I really liked her hair
