  • @michalebeb
    @michalebeb Před 8 lety +5

"Here is a key sentence from the speech, which evaded the attention of pundits: "On the issue of Israel/Palestine, we in Uganda are guided by the Bible." What do you think about that? Throughout his entire speech, Museveni made reference to the Bible. He could have focused on the Entebbe operation alone, the differences between justified battle and despicable terrorism, said a few words of congratulations and it would have been sufficient. That's how an American or European leader would have behaved. It looks like the Africans still haven't been corrupted by the common diplomatic discourse, which has been cleaned of any religious, historical, or cultural content.
The Ugandan president ranked the rescue of the Entebbe hostages along with other biblical and historical events that linked Africa to the Jewish people and the Middle East in similar circumstances: Distress that turned into salvation. The story of Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers and taken from Canaan (the land of Israel) to Egypt (which is Africa). As a devout Christian, there is great significance to the connection Museveni drew between the hostages being rescued and the baby Jesus being rescued from Herod's soldiers and being given shelter in Egypt until it was safe to return, as related in the New Testament (Matthew 2)."

To Ameer Abomokh If you are a Muslim Arab living in Israel, you should recognize that the Land of Israel (aka Palestine) is given by G-d to Jews and only Jews. This is recognized by your Koran. If you really believe in your Koran, then you should leave Israel to Jews and return to your Arabia from where Arabs came to Israel.
If all Arabs leave the Jewish land of Palestine (Israel), then there will be a peace.

    • @girshinlev

Dear Sylwia, The ancient Philistines who fought King David disappeared completely. If Arabs were systematically exterminated there would not be one left in Judea. There is Arab Supreme Court Judge. Arab parties in Israeli Parliament. Arabs have a right to vote. If Arabs want to live in peace then Salom Aleihem. Judea is a promised land. Arabs conquered with fire and sword a territory the size of United States and Canada combined. They are not native to Judea.

Yes Your Ex, the story of Mathew 2 , Baby Jesus was probably around 4-6 BC your Speech writers were right. Studies have demonstrated that the Messiah was born around that time. Year zero does not exist in the Anno Domini i.e in the Gregorian calendar and in its predecessor, the Julian calendar. The year 1 BC is followed by AD 1
If it helps, you can think about it this way: Suppose you have a child and you want to date events relative to that child's birth. The first year before the child was born would be 1 B.C. (Before the Child), and the first year after his birth (that is, the year ending with his first birthday) would be the first year of the child.
If the child happens to be the Lord, that would be the first year of the Lord, which in Latin is Anno Domini, from which we get A.D.
Thus there is no Year Zero between 1 B.C. and A.D. 1.
The biblical details of Jesus’ birth are found in the Gospels. Matthew 2:1 states that Jesus was born during the days of Herod the king. Since Herod died in 4 B.C., we have a parameter to work with. Further, after Joseph and Mary fled Bethlehem with Jesus, Herod ordered all the boys 2 years old and younger in that vicinity killed. This indicates that Jesus could have been as old as 2 before Herod’s death. This places the date of His birth between 6 and 4 B.C.
    Why 4 B.C-6 B.C .?
Why do scholars today hold that Herod died in 4 B.C.? Here are several reasons:
Based on statements in the Jewish historian Josephus, Herod was first appointed king in 40 B.C. and then reigned for 36 years (so, he died in 4 B.C.).
Again based on Josephus, after Herod was appointed king, he conquered Jerusalem in 37 B.C. and reigned for 33 years (again, dying in 4 B.C.).
Again based on Josephus, Herod died between a lunar eclipse and Passover. In 4 B.C., there was a partial lunar eclipse 29 days before Passover.
We have various lines of evidence suggesting that Herod's sons took office in 4 B.C.
Seriously I wonder how you noticed that but failed to note your repeated use of the word "Palestine" in reference to the land of Israel

Well, this was a very calculative speech by experts, first the PM was in Uganda to see for himself where his brother died, it had nothing to do with Israeli-Uganda Policies, Museveni and his Expert new it and that is why they "Mistook Israel for Palestine" three time in a written Speech, Israel used their military Muscle to take advantage of a naive untrained Idi Amin Army to defile the sovereignty of the Ugandan People, I know Ugandans are not happy at all about the talk on Entebe Raid, He was right to speak about the Gospel, while he new Jews dont believe in it, He was right to tell the Israelis that Palestine has a right to exist as sovereign State
The Old man Lectured on the intelligent Israelis and a commend him for that, they need to know that they sometimes need to stop and listen even if they believe they are very clever.

By what Right "Palestine" has a Right to exist? You are confusing between a desire for functional solutions on the part of the Jewish Nation, the Rightful Land Owner, and "Palestinian" RIGHTS. Palestinians don't have National Land Rights ANYWHERE on earth. Even their "refugee" status is fake, manufactured falsely by Arab States who keep them in a Non Citizen Status for 4th generations, and UN that makes special refugee rules just for them, maintains their "refugee" status 4th 5th generations after the fact.

PM Netanyahu ,one of the greatest leaders of our times. He had to visit Uganda to pay tribute to his slain Brother, Yona Netanyahu while he is the Prime Minister of Israel. This solidifies his brother as a National hero in Israel.

anybody who thinks museveni is out of his mind by mentioning Palestine rather than Israel is stupid. He knows what he is saying and he is telling this zionist that killing children and civilians is terrorism. no Arab leader can dare to talk to him this way. I support museveni for his efforts of fighting terrorism
