I remember that UTD midfield was very wobbly and made a lot of mistake on their own half when they tried to build from the back, lose the ball and got conceded, especially Fred. But now he improve a lot and make UTD midfield more stable and energetic. Good at passing forward and solid on defense.
Carrick's mentoring programme really works out for Fred.His positioning and defending is much better now.
95% of the time he's passing forward and progressing the ball up the pitch, great player.

I think Mourinho uses aggressive language to express players' bad points and things they need to fix, but I thinks he's more intimidated and has the opposite effect of lowering confidence.
But Ole is a warmonger, and he managed his mental health by giving me a chance.
I think Fred grew up to be the top midfielder of the league at this point because he was able to regain his ability to play, pass, judge, and ball control, and even improve his defense to mark the player.

He has genuinely been world class this season, there hasn't been many better all round Midfielders in the league this season. Try to tell me I am wrong, I never doubted him just needed time to adapt. fred has been our best player so far.playing his best football consistently no matter which team it is big or small he is doing great..important interceptions winning the ball back..distribution of passes..he needs to work on his shooting rest he is fine..Right now i think he is untouchable..even if pogba and bruno play together fred has to be there behind them..
Player of the season for sure (him or awb). He is a better passer than people think. He has pass percentage 10 % higher than McTominay and De Bruyne. In fact even matic ha dlost the ball more than him.
Pass percentage isn't a good indicator. De Bruyne attempts riskier passes so his percentage will be lower.
But I agree, Fred's our player of the season. Might have been Rashford if he hadn't gotten injured though.
@@Mopark25) Yes but pass percentage does matter in context. We know for a fact that McTominay doesn't make as many risk taking passes as De Bruyne because he plays in a deeper position than De bruyne. In this context McTominay's pass percentage and selection isn't godd enough.
Players like De bruyne or Bruno Fernandes attempt riskier passes thats why they might have it lower then fred

Almost all of the supporters were worried he wont be able to settle in the club and eventually sold out.. In the entire season there were barely a few games where he did show promise, PSG game in particular

Yes fred has improved but next season he needs to improve even more if he wants to be at United he’s been 6/10 this season but next we need at least 7-8/10 from him unless we are happy to stay 4th-6th and this goes for a lot of other players too like shaw martial etc
fred is an amazing midfeilder, but he also got all the qualities to make him a complete modern day left fullback. crossing, technical left foot, very reliable on defense and technical with the ball, eye for a killer pass, pace and most importantly his awareness would not be as much of an issue in the left full back position.
First season I thought this guy is over , too much dribbling and problem communicate with team . This year totally different ! Well done 👍

He does not dictate midfield at all. He is a destroyer similar to kante with more speed but less composure.
Mate his pass percentage rate is 10% higher than our own McTominay and De bruyne and that includes risk taking forward and diagonal you realise that right? If youd actually watch United you'd see that he more composed than you think. The problem is that in the few times he does actually lose the ball he loses it in a compromising position and that is what makes it seem worse than what it is. But tbh McTominay have both lost the ball in very compromising positions this season.
@AdmiralOddSock Pogba is world class. He sees things that others dont. Fred cannot be compared he will lose that battle every single day. I watch every United match dan, I see it for myself where his touches are sloppy sometimes and he is careless in possession. Ander Herrera was better at controlling the game with his energy and CONFIDENCE ON THE BALL. Not saying Fred is bad bcuz he has his job to do but if we wanna play toe to toe football with the best in the world , we gonna need someone who is in complete control and is almost impossible to take the ball off of who also has a dynamic range of passes . Players like Scholes, Zidan, Pirlo, Iniesta, Keane, thiago, kroos, modric, verratti etc. In saying that we can make him work bcuz he gives the license for Paul to dictate play and not have to worry too much abt his defensive responsibilities. Roy Keane is the best eg of who he shud aspire to be. A man who makes a 50 50 look like a 70 30 but can also play out from the back and who is strong on the ball with great balance and confidence . Ander Herrera was more all rounded however Fred edges him in tackling ability .
We just need Pogba back fit and I think we're sorted in midfield, one CDM needed and we'll bounce back again
