And it wasnt a rigged cup in Qatar either. + this guy enabled Messi to be the monster that he was back then. Now whatever Messi does is just automatically hyped. There is wayy too much hype on strikers in my opinion. Its a teamsport and there was a point in time central midfielders where the most in demand players. Just like you see now with attacking backs.

You contradict yourself. If it is a teamsport then no one player carry the whole team, winning team trophies is not good indicator for individual ability because it is a collective effort. I saw him when he was a junior playing against England’s U16s (I think) at the old Wembley. He stood out, then. People compare him to Scholes but he’s a different class. I grew up a United fan in the 90s and therefore love Scholes, but have to concede Iniesta is far superior a player. The best midfielder of the past 15 years or so.

Back in 2007 I saw the move at 2:12 live. I immediately jumped out of my seat in astonishment. What a move. 3 players trying to get the ball of him by the sideline and nobody gets close. It was the classico, around 80th minute. Barca were down 1-0 and trying to equalise.
I remember it too. Because I usually watched El Clasico more than other games.

Easy way to really appreciate and realize the supreme quality of players like Iniesta is to look around and see over the years that we can count with one hand similar players and they are probably not close to Andres. I mean technical skills specially. You realize how hard it is to play at that level having them skills. So uncommon to discover players like this and that for sure means something, makes them more special.
If I could do this for at least a decade against the world's greatest footballers like he did, I'd die a happy man, completely satisfied with every particle of my being. It's pinnacle of human success. He will be remembered forever for his greatness. Very nice Spanish music too.
