This generation has produced many men who would actually believe in marriage being a union of equals. But the problem is...we are not completely evolved. We are in a state of metamorphosis. On the one hand..we believe in women's freedom, right to equal education and pay, right to individual social life (not partying with ONLY hubby) ..etc. But on the other hand, we are influenced by the older generation's concept that wife needs to stay in her limits. Like, if a wife is partying with her friends till late...men sometimes feel insecure, even though they were cool with it initially. Because of the fear that society will think he is inadequate as a man, which is why he can't keep his wife with him into late hours.
Maybe the next generation will be more evolved.

The sad thing is that some of the dialogues are still existent in real life and were spoken to me. In one instance ladle ki maa asked me Do you wanna work after finishing your studies?? I said "Yes.. " She was like but don't work in call centre I will not allow it. I kept quiet and just nodded my head, but the weird thing was that was the first meeting but parents were alone and boy did not even bother to come. He was like "Mummy Papa aap jaa kar Pehle product dekh ke aao agar aacha hua toh mein bhi dekh loonga. And they never responded back. What I don't understand is that why that bitch told me not to work in call centre when clearly she had no intentions of making me her daughter in law. The thing is I never thought about working in call centre . But even if I did, it was truly up to me, what right she had to advise me on that thing?? Another incident was similar to the dialogue " We are progressive, you can work but be home by 6 p.m. " One set of parents said I can wear Jeans pants but not skirts and shorts and leggings. Because they are modern enough to only allow Jeans Pants. Bas!" Abhi recently jab mein ek prospective match se mili toh uski Maa aur uske ladle ka pehla sawal tha "Khana bana leti ho na??" I'm like "Haan saab aur saath mein jaadu ,poocha, bartan bhi kar leti hai aur chutti bhi nahi legi, lifetime ke liye free ki naukrani toh bolo kab se aao kaam pe??"

I'm Mexican, I love indian culture, but at the same time is true that the image created by the media regarding to a perfect indian wife it's totally wrong.
In my case I have grown-up in a very quality gender family, my dad gives us ( my sister and I) a lot of courage and support to make real our dreams. We cook together, do housework together and listen each other problems.
I really love India but at the same time I feel kind of disappointed every time I heard the "to do list" of a married indian woman. For me it looks like most of the men who get married want a second mother and a servant.

I'd be mad if people overlooked the effort my family and I have put into being what I'm today. So yeah thinking "I'm so lucky that's not me" is perfectly legitimate. Similarly a man saying "Thank god, I'm not a woman" is acknowledgement of the struggle and much better than "Oh I wish I was a woman, then all I had to do hook a rich guy". That's ducking infuriating. I just hope people would also acknowledge the ducking struggle we have to go through!
