I just learned about goldbacks yesterday. I bought a few at the Carson city NV coin shop.
I absolutely love the idea of the goldback… However, I have a feeling that if and when these see wider adoption the feds are going to clamp down on it. In the meantime I would love to see the states really flex their muscle and see more widespread recognition of gold and silver as legal tender. There’s nothing stopping any of us right now from using precious metals as currency, regardless of where you live.
The "Feds" are Unconstitutional. Gold & Silver as real money, are Constitutional

There are five states with Goldbacks right now , I wonder if Texas may be wanting to do the same thing ? There are rumors of many more states trying to follow this movement .
Ron, was on fire at the BE PREPARED EXPO 2022. The Goldbacks are a smart way to buy. They can actually increase in value as gold increases. I use them all the time!! The more we use them the mire common place they will become!
The gold doesn't increase in value, your fiat decrease in value because of inflation.
Echoing Michael's comment... If you have X amount of gold and Y amount of dollars then X=Y. If they go on a money printing spree and now there's 2Y dollars out there then it's now X=2Y because the government can't print off more gold but they can print more $$$

It's a great way to start the conversation and expose people to them.
It's amazing that everyone knew what the gold backs were! If I tried that here in Western MA I would get blank stares!
Wherever you are, ask, "Will you take gold for that?" If they say yes you're trading Goldbacks! You don't have to wait for your state to officially accept them.
Carry your Goldbacks and show them around! Ask questions like:
Do you want cash or gold?
I accept gold. Do you?
Can I pay in gold?
Want gold for that?
Then explain what the Goldback is and teach them how to transact in Goldbacks. That's it.
I love the concept. Not currently viable where I'm living in the Southeast.. we'll see where it goes.

Hey Ron. I saw you with these “gold backs” in a previous video. I had never seen one or even heard of them before. I IMMEDIATELY stopped the video to research them. Within an hour I had purchased several denominations. I am a prepper and knew I had to have some of these beauties so THANK YOU!! Then I calmly went back to watching the rest of the video. As I am typing this, guess what? The UPS guy is at my gate with my Green Backs!! Yeah!!!

Well I’m in vacation, and I had one store that expect gold backs. The day goldbacks are accepted as legal tender, it going to like Great Depression or worse
The 2022 Utah and Wyoming Goldbacks are " specie legal tender " or something to that effect .

You can use them anywhere. They don't have to be from the state you are in. In fact a lot of people use them in Oregon even though there is no Oregon gold back
@@rebekahjensen7248 I would have to agree...none of us are constrained based on where these Goldbacks are "legal".....it all depends on who is willing to accept them as barter, in exchange for services or products
So far Ive only come across TX SJR 67 , ( mutually agreed upon medium of exchange ) , TX SB 2334 ( Goldbacked Digital Currency ), and TX SB 1558 ( Use of Specie Gold and Silver for legal tender and exempt from sales and use taxes )
These were barely proposed last month and are barely trying to get off the ground
SB 1558 is set to take in effect on Sept. 1, 2023 , then after that I'm assuming Texas could implement the GOLDBACK !
There are rumors that at least one third of the states may be in the process of doing the same thing .
@dmpddiver, @ From what I’ve heard Texas has artwork approved. Legislations good or nearly so. Just need funding. To help join the UPMA and deposit funds, set as a lease and earmark them for Texas’s Goldback. That will help the Texas cause.

Well you need to start talking to the state treasurer in the state of Wyoming. I went and read nude two of my vehicle's a couple days ago and asked them if they would take goldbacks and they said no. LOL. If I would have known about this a couple years ago and seeing how the price has gone up on gold it definitely would have paid

They can't give or take anything that we do not first allow them to do. So don't in mass and then they can't and so won't.

Here's what I've read from posters. Women in California pays rent and buys groceries. Man in Arizona pays contractors in Goldbacks. Man bought his daughter a car with Goldbacks. Women in Florida says she will accept them at her business. 23+ stores in Texas accept them. I've paid my lawn service in Goldbacks as well.

Goldbacks are not an 'investment'. They are twice the cost of buying regular gold coin and bullion. They 'might' be a useful adjunct to a preppers preparedness in that in a TEOTWAWKI situation, they would be a lot more useful in barter than a gold coin, which would be worth a lot more than most of what you might want to trade for.

Seventh, Goldbacks can be a hedge against inflation. The value of the dollar has fallen more than 25% in the last 3 years. The value of a Goldback has increased 35+% in the same time frame. By owning Goldbacks as your savings you’d have 60% more money today in gold than you have in cash.
You can also lease back your Goldbacks and earn 2-3.5% So yes they can be an investment vehicle. If the price of gold increases so do your Goldbacks.

Because it basically is. When the gold is melted down and recovered, they never get the same amount back with gold backs
Haven't heard any one talk about method for detecting counterfeit GoldBack, I do like the ideal of GoldBack's.
@@drmosfet that’s because there hasn’t been any. Someone offered $500 for a good counterfeit. The printer costs $6-10/mm kind of high for a thief.
As of now the Goldback is uncounterfeitable - There are 5 security features on each Goldback. 1. A serial number, they can be authenticated. (See front and back) 2. Micro-pattern in gold throughout can be identified. 3. The gold content can be measured with hi-end XRF tech. 4. The Hi-Tech manufacturing process cannot be affordable replicated. 5. Ability to demand gold in exchange for Goldbacks from Goldback, inc.
I simply ask "Paper or Gold?" and show them the Gold
I do similar. I say, “Will you take gold for that?” And that gets the conversation going.

The new American currency?
Price fluctuation with gold backs would drive me crazy. Prices in stores would have to be changed daily in some cases and sitting in line to see if the bill is $200 or $300 would be irritating with the employees out their that have bad customer service.
Well, it's got to have a set face value and not rely on spot speculation in the gold market. Same thing happens with Fiat Currency every day but it doesn't change the value in common trade. before you buy a 12 pack of beer the Liquor store clerk doesn't look up the spot price US Dollars are trading at and make you pay the difference

I’ve done 55+ transactions with Goldback so far. I carry some and ask Will you take gold for that? Or something similar and if they say Yes we’re trading in Goldbacks. Or at least it plants a seed and I explain what they are and how they work. I’ve even sold 27 Goldbacks in New Mexico when I was there on business 2 weeks ago.

You can buy any state and use them anywhere.
Kind of like the state quarters. Usable wherever anyone will exchange them. I paid my lawn service in Goldbacks. That was cool.

Sounds like Goldbacks are better than bitcoin.
In Utah, Goldbacks are accepted 8X more than bitcoin. They are gaining momentum. I sold 27 in New Mexico when I was there.

I like the concept. However, u can purchase gold and silver coins or bars much more affordably than these.
You can spend Goldback much more easily than gold and silver coin/bullion. Everything has its advantages. Plus, you can lease back your Goldbacks and earn 2-3.5% or get a visa debit card and spend the value of your Goldbacks just like dollars. They have some advantages.
I suppose they have not captured the arsonist yet but know where to look. Just a matter of time before they screw up, brag at a bar or be ratted out for $$. He’s being watched now!!!
It's probably just me, but this group in of venders selling product looks like a promotional thing for the gold back, so that means yes, they will take gold backs.

So cool to be able to make purchases with GBs. I however love my GBs and not sure if i would part with them. Was excited to go to my mail box guy and get my new GBs today. He was impressed. I think he liked the 25 a little too much. Lol.
I was in New Mexico on business (7/10-14). Currently not a Goldback issued state and I sold and traded all 27 of the One-Goldbacks I had. When I got home I bought 37 Goldbacks. 😊 Wherever you are and someone is willing to trade you for your Goldback you are good to go.
